"Connie ! I'm glad you could pick up."

Connie listened to Zeke's gruff voice as it came through the phone's speaker. And though he was severely annoyed at the call's timing, he pretended to not be. "Wouldn't miss it. What's up ?"

"A few things. You gotta second ?"

Connie looked back at you before signing. "Yeah."

"Well for one the song you showed me is amazing ! Might have to make some adjustments but-"

"Adjustments ?"

"Well yeah. Since the rumors about Trixie and your girlfriend, we should avoid having you sing su love songs and we definitely can't name it after y/n."

Already, Connie didn't like anything he was hearing. For the past few months, he's been working on a project with the boys where each one would have a solo song that they had full control over and the rest of the songs would be for the group. And since he finally got a chance to write and perform his own song by himself again, you were the one he wanted to dedicate the song to. If you didn't know it before, you're everything to him and a huge key role in his success. So though there was the song he asked you out with, he wanted to thing of something else special. Sort of like a thank you gift.

But now, because of Trixie, he couldn't really do that. But as if that wasn't enough, Zeke continued.

"Second I'm not sure if the other boys got the chance to tell you yet but the label has decided to relieve Hange of their manager duties. Now I know this will be an adjustment-"

"Wait but Hange is the one who discovered us. Why would-"

"Slow down, Springer. Like I said I know this will be an adjustment but the reason why is because they were against the next piece of news I have." Connie stayed quiet, waiting for Zeke to continue. "You boys will be going on tour next month, after the People's Choice Awards !"

Immediately, Connie's brain began to race. People's Choice Awards ? He, along with the rest of the boys, completely forgot about it, given how hectic everything has been since the nomination's announcement.

Actually scratch all that. Tour ? Why would Hange be against tour ? If anything, he would've thought that they would've been the one pushing for it. Something wasn't right.

"I'm confused. Hange was against it ?"

"Yes. Hange was concerned about the fact you guys would be gone for two years and wouldn't be able to see your significant others. But I told them that it's just a price you guys will have to pay and they continued to be difficult. I'm sure you understand ?"

It felt as if a literal ticking time bomb was just dropped off in Connie's lap, with no directions on how to disarm it. Two years wouldn't be that bad under any other conditions. But now, he had other things to think about, you and his relationship being one of them. He knew that if you could read his thoughts right now, you'd tell him to do what's best for his career but still. Not to mention, your friend, who has been unconscious for the past few months just woke up. He wasn't even there for the majority of Papi's coma. He still would beat himself over it.

Though Connie wanted to flat out decline the offer, he knew it would be best to probably talk to you and the guys about it. He exhaled, "I understand but-"

"But ?"

"But.. Is it cool if I have some time ? You know just to review everything with the guys."

Zeke let out a little laugh. To Connie it sounded like one of endearment but it was really from frustration. "That'll be okay. Talk about it with the missus too but get back to me before the awards show. Sounds good ?"

"Yeah, Zeke it sounds good... I'll let you know what she thinks soon. Thank you again, bye."

"Um what was that about ?"

Connie's smile drifted from his face as he took one gulp before responding. "Let me take you to the studio for a bit."

You crossed your arms across your chest. "So you're just gonna ignore my question ?"

"No but..I rather answer it by showing you." You stayed quiet, hinting to him that you were skeptical. "Please ?"

You huffed but still went to silently grab a hoodie for you to throw over the sports bra, you had been chilling in. It must've been one of his, since you could smell some of his scent lingering on it.

You couldn't stand when Connie got like this. If you ask a question, you expect it to be answered, truthfully too. It wasn't so much his fault, you just had a hard time trusting ever since.. you know. Now thinking about it, you didn't know if you fully healed from that situation, though it was all those months ago. Maybe it was the fact that you felt like everything that happened with Jay was repeating with Connie. Sure, you and Connie have talked it through and we're now back together, going strongly at that. Still though, it's some wounds even time can't heal, whether the ones from Jay or the ones from Connie.

You followed Connie into his car and he drove the both of you to the large building their studio was, that looked close. "Are we even allowed in ?"

He nodded. "They let artists have permission to use studios at any time. We'll be fine."

You didn't answer, only got out of the car and started walking to the building. The two of you took the short elevator journey up to the floor the studio was and once y'all got in, you took a seat on its couch and waited for the response to the question you asked earlier.

Instead, Connie went straight into the chair that was in front of the control panel and began fiddling with buttons. He turned back to you, "Come here. I wanna show you something."

Still with the same skepticism written all over your face, you walked over and stood next to him. At least you tried to stand next to him until he gently sat you down onto his lap. He reached his arms around you so that he could still play with the buttons on the control panel. When he flicked one, part of a melody began to play. You were confused so you flicked that same button to pause it. "Connie how is this answering my question ?"

"Just listen. That's all I need."
(play the song now)

He flicked the button so that the music started playing from the top.

You felt as Connie's one arm wrapped around your waist. With the other, he took your hand into his and moved it to a control that slid up and down to control different variables of the sound. "Turn this one up."

You listened and did, making the sound of the piano more noticeable. Listening to the lyrics, you fell more and more in love with the song. Connie's chin found it's way on your shoulder. It vibrated subtly as he hummed along to his recorded voice.

Connie didn't feel anything else but happiness in the moment as he felt your body slowly sway from side to side. He loved sharing his art with you, especially when it came to songs that were for you.

In case you haven't picked up on the symbolism yet, you are and probably forever will be Connie's dream. No matter what terms. He wasn't ashamed of it either. If he could shout it from the tip of every rooftop and mountain, he would. If he could individually go up to every person in the world and tell them, he would do that too. And to Connie, there was nothing more satisfying in this world, to see people believe in you as much as he did. When the two of you started dating, he'd never tell but, he would scroll to find little edits fans would make of the two of you. He would even go to your business page's comments and like every good review people would leave.

Now listening to this song back, he started to make his final decision about tour in his head. He didn't want to go. Not at all. Connie couldn't leave you now. To him, you were worth missing out on whatever opportunities tour could bring. You were worth risking his career but to Connie, you were the reason he even had it. It would be nothing without you.

"Connie ? You're spacing out on me," you snap him back to reality. "I love the song trust me but this still doesn't answer my question."

Oh right your question. Seeing as though he literally just made up his mind, he figured he would just skip over that part. "Me and the boys had this project and this was my song for you on it. But now he wants to change it because of .. you know who."

In fact, you knew exactly who. You sighed, a little guilty that your petty drama caused for your boyfriend's hardly worked on song to be edited my some cash hungry label heads. Still worth beating that bitch up for the one time.

"Shit I'm sorry-"

"Don't be. I'll find a way. I always do."

Something about Connie's answer didn't satisfy you. It felt as if there was something missing. I mean think about it, the boy is on the phone for that long about only one thing ? No way. "Is that it ? I heard you mention Hange too."

"Oh right. Hange isn't our manager anymore."

"What ? But they were the one who put you on-"

"Exactly what I thought."

"Damn so why aren't they managing anymore ?"

Connie thought of a quick lie. "They wanted to become more independent from the label. That's really all Zeke said."

Though it was a lie he came up with on the spot, there still was a little truth to it. Truth be told, Hange wanted to start a company of their own. They had everything in place and this tour would've been the thing to kick it off for them but two years was a lot, even to Hange. It was almost funny in a way how Hange risked their career for the same relationship they accidentally almost destroyed.

You believed him though. "Oh. Well I hope there isn't bad blood between you guys.. Is there anything else ?" This time when you asked that, you genuinely meant it, not because his answer didn't satisfy you.

"Nothing you need to worry your little big head about," he took your face in his hands to place an adoring kiss on your smushed together lips.

"Big ass head," you grumbled.

He laughed a little before continuing. "Anyways.. you wanna finish what he started earlier ?"
