TITLE: the little bear and his mommy

SUMMARY: how about little haechan and caregiver renjun? in which donghyuck loses his patience as a nurse so he shifted in his little space and it's up to renjun on taking care of him.

note: yes, i wanna try little hyuck and caregiver renjun this time. also, hyuck calls renjun mommy when he's a little. enjoy! :D

The front door suddenly swings open so loudly that Renjun startles from the couch. When he looks at the door, a drained out and tired Donghyuck enters their tiny apartment, walking so slowly as his bag is hanging from his shoulder.

"Hyuck-ah, are you okay?" Renjun asks as he runs towards his boyfriend.

Donghyuck works as a nurse in a hospital just nearby. Today, they had so many patients and he had to go to different rooms to take care of them. Some of them were nice and easy to deal with, but many were very much not patient especially those children who couldn't stay still.

"Not fine." He replies in a deep voice and flops himself on the couch, leaning his back as Renjun takes his bag and places it next to him.

"What happened?" Renjun asks and sits on the other side of him.

"Long story short, my patience was really tested today and it didn't go well." Donghyuck sighs, resting his head on top of his boyfriend's shoulder.

"Aww, that's why you look so tired, honey." Renjun carresses his cheek gently and kisses his head. "I'll cook dinner. What do you want?" The younger didn't reply. "Mhm, how about fried chicken?"

"Yes!" Donghyuck exclaims, voice became high pitch, as he lifts his head and looks at Renjun, "I want fried chicken, Mommy!"

And that's when Renjun realizes that Donghyuck suddenly shifted to his little space. He chews his lower lip and manages a smile.

"Sure, Mommy will cook fried chicken for Haechannie. You wait here, okay?" He says gently and Haechan nods enthusiastically. "Oh, and would you mind taking off your shoes and properly put them on the shoe rack?"

Haechan tilts his head and looks down at his shoes. He furrows his eyebrows but smiles and looks at his Mommy again, "Okay!"

"Good boy!" Renjun ruffles Haechan's hair and the latter just giggles.

When the older leaves to go to the kitchen, the younger takes off his shoes. After that, he picks them up and walks to the shoe rack near the door then gently puts the shoes in it.

Haechan then follows Renjun at the kitchen. He walks towards him and stares at him. He watches as the older puts the chicken thigh in the bowl of beaten eggs. Renjun notices him and smiles, giving him a short peck on the lips.

Because of that, they both widen their eyes. Haechan blinks and freezes while Renjun awkwardly grins, realizes what he just did.

"I forgot you're a little." Renjun mentally slaps himself and taps the younger on the shoulder. "Haechannie, you okay?"

The little blinks again and looks at the older. "Mommy, why did you kiss me on the lips?"

"I'm sorry, Haechannie. Will you forgive me?"

Haechan nods and smiles, "Yes, you're forgiven, Mommy."

Renjun chuckles and pinches the younger's cheek. "Go to the dining room now and wait for me there, okay? I'll be quick."

"Okay!"

After dinner and Renjun washed the dishes, they go straight to their bedroom.

Haechan jumps on the bed and grabs his fox stuffed toy. He then sits and waits for his Mommy.

Renjun smiles slightly and closes the door behind before he walks to their bed. He then climbs next to the younger.

"Mommy, you look like this fox." Haechan randomly says and Renjun just chuckles.

"Let's go to sleep, you still have work tomorrow." Renjun tells the little.

"Huh?" Haechan innocently asks, "Work? To where? Why?"

The older sighs and holds the younger's shoulders to make him look at him. "Baby, aren't you tired? Does your body feel tired?"

"It does, but I don't know why." Haechan replies. "How about you, Mommy, are you tired?"

"I'm not." Renjun smiles. "Let's sleep now so tomorrow you'll be okay and shift back."

Little Haechan doesn't understand that, nevertheless, he nods and finally lies on his spot, hugging his fox stuffed toy.

Renjun gets up from the bed and turns the light off. He then goes back beside his little boyfriend and lies next to him.

"Mommy, I want milk." Haechan suddenly says.

Renjun huffs and gets up from the bed again. He turns the light on again and sighs. "Just wait here, okay?" Haechan just nods and grins, all his teeth showing up and the former thinks it's cute but he doesn't say it, he just smiles and blushes.

He opens the door and exits their bedroom. As he's walking to the kitchen, he slaps his own arm. "Stop blushing, Renjun, he's a little right now!" he tells himself.

He opens the cupboard and grabs Haechan's favorite baby bottle. It's a clear one with a little bear and a little fox imprinted on it.

After he puts milk in the bottle, he closes the cupboard and walks back to their bedroom.

When he enters, he sees that Haechan already fell asleep, hugging the stuffed toy and sucking on his thumb.

"Aww, so cute." he giggles.

He presses the off switch and places down the baby bottle on the bedside table before lying next to the little.

He turns to him and kisses his forehead. "Sleep well, honey. Good night." He hugs him and closes his eyes.

"Honey, wake up! You're gonna be late for work." Renjun taps his boyfriend's shoulder to try to wake him up. "Donghyuck-ah! I cooked breakfast already. Wake up, you're gonna be—"

"Mommy?"

Renjun widen his eyes. Oh no, Donghyuck's still a little. He still has to go to work. What is he gonna do?

"Uh, baby, I'm sorry. Please, go back to sleep."

"Mhm," Haechan nods, "Okay." then he closes his eyes again.

Renjun sighs and sits on the bed. He looks at the bedside table when he hears Donghyuck's phone rings.

He grabs it and sees that one of their friends and Donghyuck's co-worker, Jaemin, called. He presses the 'answer' button and places the phone on his ears.

[Donghyuck, where are you?]

"Hello, Jaemin."

[Oh. Renjun? Where's Donghyuck?]

"Uh, well, he's a little right now and I don't know when he's back."

[Oh shit.]

Then, there's a short moment of silence.

"Yeah, sorry." Renjun chews on his bottom lip.

[Okay, okay, I'll tell the doctors he got sick. I hope he goes back soon. Take care, you two.]

"Thank you. Bye, Jaemin."

[Bye. I'll go to work now.]

The call ended and Renjun places the phone back on the bedside table. He then looks at Haechan for a while before getting up and exits their bedroom, closing the door.

He goes to the living room and sits on the couch. He leans his back and sighs.

He then chuckles to himself. "It's ironic that his job is to take care of people, yet when he's home, I'm the one taking care of him."

He grabs the remote control and is about to turn the TV on when he hears the door opens. He places it down and turns to their room, seeing the younger walking towards him while rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning, Mommy." Haechan says in pout.

"Good morning, baby." Renjun smiles at him.

Haechan sits next to him and hugs his waist. "Why were you waking me up earlier?"

"Ah, please forgive me." The older says and the younger giggles, nodding.

"I forgive you, Mommy, always." Haechan then looks at the direction of the dining room. "We already have breakfast?"

"Yes. Do you want to eat now?"

"Yes! I'm hungry now, Mommy."

Renjun laughs softly, "Alright, let's go."

Haechan lets go of his Mommy's waist to let him get up from the couch. He then follows him and holds his hand as they walk to the dining room.

They sit across each other and Renjun stares at him.

He admits it. He doesn't like it when Donghyuck's in his little space. Not that he doesn't want to take care of him, but he most likely want to be taken care of by Donghyuck instead.

Whenever Donghyuck's in his little space, it mostly means that he's so stressed and couldn't function well in real world. But Renjun wants to be his emotional support even if he's not in his little space. He misses him so much.

"Mommy! Mommy, why are you crying?"

Haechan walks towards him and looks at him innocently. Renjun blinks and looks away, wiping his tears off.

He then looks at Haechan and when he sees him smiling, he feels like crying again. He suddenly hugs the younger and says, "I miss you."

"Mhm? I miss you, too, Mommy. But I didn't disappear, did I?"

He chuckles and breaks apart. "Sorry, don't mind Mommy. Go back to your seat now and let's eat."

"Okay!" Haechan walks back to his seat and watches Renjun puts rice on his plate. "Mommy,"

"Mhm?" The older looks at him, tilting his head to the side.

"Donghyuck loves you."

Renjun widen his eyes, then his look soften and slowly smiles.

"I love you, too."
