TITLE: of teddy bear and baby bottle

SUMMARY: renjun is a little and has separation anxiety and his daddy donghyuck is away for few hours, so his sungie hyung takes care of him for a while.

Renjun wakes up in his room and turns to his side to hug someone but then he realizes that he's alone. He widen his eyes and suddenly gets up. "Daddy?"

He looks around and he confirms he's really alone in his bed. The coldness from the air condition ghosted through his warm skin.

He reaches for his brown teddy bear and hugs it tightly. "Daddy, where are you?" He gets off his bed and walks to the door to exit his room.

He didn't bother to close the door and walks straight to the living room. He pouts when he sees no one, as he walks to the sofa and sits himself on it while still hugging his stuffed toy tightly.

"Daddy!" he cries out, "Where are you?" He leans on the backrest and tears start to fall down his cheeks.

He sniffs and glances at the center table where he can see a folded yellow paper. He wipes his tears off, creasing his forehead, and leans forward to see it clearly.

He puts down his teddy bear on the sofa gently and grabs the paper into his tiny hand, unfolding it. He tilts his head as he reads the writings on the paper.

hi, baby! sorry, i don't want to disturb your sleep. daddy just went out to go to the grocery with jeno and jaemin. i'll be fine, don't worry. i've already prepared your breakfast in the dining room. eat well, and i'll be back i promise <333

He sighs and feels himself calm a bit. He puts down the paper and grabs his teddy bear again. He gets up from the sofa and walks to the dining area.

He grins when he sees his moomin dinnerware set and his yellow baby bottle with a sunflower imprinted on it. His breakfast being a sunny side up on top of mickey mouse-shaped rice and mash potato as the side dish. Warm water in his baby bottle as his beverage.

He excitedly sits on the chair, putting down his teddy bear on the other chair next to him where Donghyuck usually sits.

"I'm going to eat well, Daddy." he happily says before grabbing his spoon and fork with moomin head at each end of them.

He flops himself on the sofa, pouting and forehead creasing, hugging his teddy bear. After he ate breakfast, he's still upset that his daddy left him alone in their shared apartment.

Suddenly, he hears a loud knock. He glances at the door and his heart starts to pound in his chest. "I-I hope it's Daddy."

A knock comes again and he presses his lips. "Daddy?" He nervously stands up and walks to the door. He slowly turns the doorknob and he's greeted by a tall guy who's smiling widely.

"Hello, Renjun hyung!" the tall guy greets.

Renjun widen his eyes, "Sungie hyung!" He smiles then tilts his head to the side, which Jisung finds cute. "Wait, why did you call me 'hyung'? I'm only four."

That's when Jisung realized that Renjun is in his little space. He clears his throat and pats his hyung's head. "Ah, sorry, Injunnie! Can I come in?"

The little nods, stepping back to let the younger in. "Why are you here, Sungie hyung?"

"Ah, Donghyuck hyung told me to come here to accompany you because he said you're alone." He didn't tell me you're in your little space. He wants to add but cuts himself off.

In their circle of friends, they all know that Renjun is a little. Renjun's memory of being an adult is separated from his memory when he's in his little space. Hence, in his situation right now, he doesn't know that he's actually older than Jisung.

When he's in his little space, he also doesn't know that Jeno, Jaemin and Jisung are also his friends, he only knows that they're his daddy's friends.

Renjun pouts and sits on the sofa again, "When is Daddy's going home? I miss him already."

"He'll be home soon, Injunnie. But for now, let me accompany you, is that okay with you?" Jisung says, sitting beside his hyung.

The little shrugs his shoulders, "I guess so." He sighs heavily. "What if... something bad happened to Daddy? Oh no!"

"Hyung—I mean, Injunnie, I'm sure he's alright and he can take care of himself. Besides, he's with Jeno hyung and Jaemin hyung. So, don't worry too much."

Renjun stares at him and suddenly cries, making Jisung widen his eyes. "I miss him."

"Injunnie, he's gonna be fine. He'll be here soon, I promise. And I'm here, Donghyuck hyung entrusted me to take care of you while he's gone." He wipes his hyung's tears off. "How about this, do you want to go out and we'll buy anything you like?"

The older shakes his head, hugging his teddy bear tightly. "No. I want to see Daddy."

"Hyung—Injunnie, please?"

"No! I said, no, Sungie hyung!" He yells and gets up from the sofa to runs to his room.

Jisung pushes his hair back and sighs. "I don't know how to take care of an actual child, what more if I take care of an adult acting a child?" He pouts and sighs once again. "I'm supposed to be the baby here."

He walks towards the room where the older entered. He knocks on the door and opens the door slightly, and he sees Renjun sitting on the bed, still hugging his teddy bear, and crying while whispering 'Daddy, I miss you.'

"Injunnie."

Upon hearing that, Renjun stops and turns his head to the door. "Sungie hyung?"

"Do you want some cotton candy?" the younger asks.

Renjun nods, "Yes."

"Do you want to buy together or I'll buy alone while you'll wait for me here?" Jisung asks gently, slowly opening the door widely.

"Together."

"Come with me, then. Would you like to hold my hand?"

Renjun nods again, hesitantly holding his tall friend's big hand. Jisung smiles at him and ruffles his hair.

"Let's go!"

"After you eat the cotton candy, drink water, okay?" Jisung reminds and Renjun just nods as he eats the cotton candy.

Jisung stares at his hyung and suddenly remembers what Donghyuck told him. Don't feed him sweets.

"Oh, shit." he mutters, and thankfully Renjun didn't hear it. "Uh, Injunnie?"

Renjun hums and turns to him, tilting his head to the side like a confused puppy. "Why, Sungie hyung?"

"Don't tell Donghyuck hyung that I fed you cotton candy. Don't tell him anything, okay?" Renjun just nods but he's not satisfied. "Promise me, Injunnie. You won't tell him that you ate cotton candy, okay?"

"Why?" Renjun asks curiously, his voice high pitched. "It's yummy."

"If you tell him, we'll both get in trouble. Do you want Donghyuck hyung to scold you?"

Renjun widen his eyes and shakes his head eagerly. "No!"

"Don't tell him, then, okay?"

"Okay."

"Promise?"

"Promise!" He grins and continues to eat.

Jisung sighs and leans his back on the sofa. His guilt and conscience slowly consume him as he watches his little hyung happily eats his cotton candy.

When Renjun finishes, he smiles innocently at him and it makes Jisung feel more guilty.

"You're finished?" He asks and Renjun nods. "Drink your water, hyung—Injunnie."

Renjun grabs his baby bottle with both hands and start to sip his water. Jisung smiles slightly.

"I'm home!" Someone suddenly barges in their apartment and Renjun widen his eyes, smiling widely.

He runs to the person and hugs him tightly. "Daddy! I miss you!"

Donghyuck puts down all the paper bags he's carrying on the floor. "I miss you, too, baby." He kisses Renjun's head gently. He then turns to Jisung, "Hey, Sungie, thanks for accompanying him. You can go home now, Mark hyung is waiting for you."

Jisung nods, "No problem, hyung. I'll go now."

"Daddy, Sungie hyung and I went out and he bought me cotton candy! It's so yummy!"

By that, Donghyuck turns to Renjun and Jisung grins awkwardly.

"What? Again, baby?"

"Injunnie, I told you to not tell him!" Jisung interferes.

Renjun pouts, "I'm sorry!"

Donghyuck glares at Jisung, "You taught him how to lie. How dare you?"

"He's an adult!" Jisung argues.

"He's a little!"

Renjun starts to cry, pulling the hem of Donghyuck's shirt. "Don't fight, please!"

Jisung sighs, "I'm sorry, hyung. I'll go home now." He walks to the door and exits their apartment.

Donghyuck gently pulls his baby towards the sofa and they both sit. He wipes his tears off his cheeks before talking to him in a gentle voice. "You have to tell me everything. What did you and Sungie do while I'm gone?"

"We went out and bought cotton candy. It was so delicious! But then he said to not tell you that I ate cotton candy because we'd get in trouble. Why?"

"Eating sweets too much will upset your teeth and stomach. Did you drink your water after?" Donghyuck asks and Renjun nods. "Very good! But you have to brush your teeth later, okay?" Renjun nods again.

"Daddy, what do you have there?" Renjun asks, pointing at the paper bags on the floor by the door.

Donghyuck turns to them and then to Renjun, "I bought us some food, we're out of stuck. Oh! And also, I bought you something."

"What is it, Daddy?"

Donghyuck gets off the sofa and walks to the paper bags. He rummages in one of the paper bags and pulls out a Minnie Mouse headband, the ribbon being pink instead of red.

He takes it as he goes back to the sofa and sits next to Renjun. "Here!" He puts it on his head properly and smiles. "You look pretty, baby."

"I do?" Renjun asks, touching the headband. Donghyuck chuckles, nodding, and Renjun giggles. "Thank you, Daddy! I love it so much!"

"Can I get a kiss?" Donghyuck points on his cheek.

Without hesitation, Renjun presses his lips on his daddy's cheek. Donghyuck grins as he watches the little get flustered and hides his face with his palms.

"Don't be shy, baby, let me see you." Donghyuck pulls down the little's hands gently. "Can Daddy give Injunnie a kiss too?" When Renjun nods, he gives him a short kiss on the forehead.

"Daddy." Renjun calls him and he just hums as a respond. "Don't ever leave me again."

Donghyuck sighs, "I'm sorry."

"Injunnie, are you done taking a bath?" Donghyuck knocks on the bathroom door.

"I'm finished, Daddy." Renjun replies, "Help me get dressed, please."

Donghyuck turns the doorknob and sees a naked Renjun, playing with the water flowing from the faucet, using his index and middle finger as a pair of scissors to pretend to cut the water. He chuckles, shaking his head as he lets himself in.

"Baby, stop that, you're wasting water. Come here!"

Renjun turns to him and pouts, "Sorry." He turns off the faucet and walks to his daddy. He's about to hug him but the latter stops him.

Donghyuck shakes his head, "You're not dry yet. Where's your towel?"

"In our room. I f-forgot to get it, sorry."

His daddy sighs, and smiles slightly then nods, "Wait here, okay? I'll get your towel."

"Okay!" Renjun smiles.

Donghyuck leaves the bathroom and comes back with Renjun's towel. He first dries his hair, then his arms and hands, then his torso, his back, and the rest of his body.

"Daddy, I wanna wear that headband you just bought me."

"Yeah, of course!"

Donghyuck covers the little's body with the towel before they get out of the bathroom. They walk to their room and get inside, Donghyuck closing the door.

Renjun sits on the bed, his feet flailing around. He watches his daddy as he rummages in their closet to get him some clothes.

"Daddy, I'm hungry." he suddenly says and Donghyuck just hums. "I'm serious!"

"I know." Donghyuck replies, "Lunch is ready but you need to get dressed first."

As he's done picking Renjun's clothes, he walks towards him and gestures him to stand up. He first makes him wear an undergarment, then shirt and lastly, a comfortable sweatpants. He also grabs the headband from the bedside table and puts it on his head.

"Can I bring my teddy bear to lunch?" Renjun asks and Donghyuck nods. "Yey!" he grins and grabs his teddy bear from the bed.

"Let's eat!" Donghyuck says and they finally gets out of the room and walk to the dining area to eat lunch.

As they sit at the dining area, Donghyuck stares at Renjun, smiling subconsciously. I will protect you, Renjun-ah.

"Daddy?" Renjun taps Donghyuck's arm and the latter blinks and smiles.

"Hm?"

"Is there something on my face, Daddy?"

Donghyuck shakes his head, "Nothing. You're just pretty."

Renjun giggles, "I do?" His daddy nods. "You're handsome, too, Daddy."

Donghyuck chuckles, "Let's eat now."

"Okay!" Little Renjun replies as he grabs his baby bottle with his two hands.
