"You got yourself into a minor spat at the party, nothing too serious but my daughter brought you back to our house, just so you'd be safe."
Violet frowned and her fingers traced the bow of her neck where she swore she felt something sharp but with the man's gaze on her showing nothing but honesty, she let her hand drop. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the tall, copper haired boy look like he let a sigh of relaxation out.
"Did I win?" She asked and this elicited small laughs from people in the room.
"Yes, you did Violet," Alice soothed with a gentle grin showing off all her teeth that had the girl ready to believe whatever she was told.
"I- uh I don't mean to be rude or anything but did you guys happen to remember where I left my bike?" She felt her ears turning red from embarrassment at the fact that she was so drunk that she got in a fight, crashed in a home that wasn't hers and now she didn't know where she left her bike. Stupid drunk girl, why can't I do anything right? Violet asked herself in her head and Edward looked to her with a frown himself.
"Yeah," he replied quicker than anyone and she looked at him with an appreciative expression, "I brought it back it's parked outside in the drive."
She let out a sigh of relief, "thank you." I can't believe I'm such a train wreck, maybe mom was right about me.
Edward furrowed his eyebrows when a second voice in her head came to play, this one sounded more agitated with a gruffness to it.
No, she was wrong that woman just wanted to whore herself out. There is nothing wrong with you, she's the problem.
Nobody but Edward could hear what was happening in her head and the hardened look in her eye was only clear to him why. There was an inner turmoil obviously shared between herself and her mother that he was desperate to find out what it was and so was Alice. She caught the flash of Violets eyes and glanced to her brother in worry but his eyes were locked on the human girl and now she simply glared at him with her lips pinched upwards.
"I should really get going but thank you for all that you've done for me, but I-uh- yeah, thank you," she stuttered slightly thinking of what to say to the family. They had been so good to her but she didn't want to stay any longer, politely she felt ashamed of herself and wanted to get out as quickly as she could.
Violet was already heading towards the door when the bell voice rang out behind her, "wait, I can drive you."
The girl spun round to see Alice now behind her and her brows furrowed at how quick she was, she was halfway in the kitchen before. "No, no it's alright I'm fine but thank you, pixie," Violet awkwardly smiled to the Carlisle and Esme who grinned softly at her and Edward who didn't look like he fully believed her. She didn't spare another glance to Alice as she was too embarrassed from the nick name she had just called the girl.
As she carefully shut the door she hit herself on the head, "stupid, stupid! Pixie, ugh! Who says that?" She shuffled over to her motor bike completely missing the sound of the laughter on the other side of the door and swayed a little bit before she swung her leg over and winced as her helmet squeezed against her head. "I need some more sleep."

Violet cringed as the loud thrum of her bike cut through the silence of her neighbourhood and twisted the key to silence it. She couldn't see her dads police car a few blocks ahead and sighed in relief, she was in no mood to give him a debrief of where she had crashed.
Although, she did want to find out more of who she had gotten in a fight with and where her two closest friends had been. She pulled out the laptop from under her bed and clicked on the group with both Brody and Alex labelled, Cunts.
It rang three times before they both answered and widened their eyes at the sight of Violet.
"Violet!" The two said loudly but Alex was instantly overpowered by the loud voice of her mother who told her to be quiet, her mother didn't really like noise.
"Hey, guys," she was now fully under covers after shutting the blinds and equipping herself with her full bottle of water on her bedside and sunglasses on.
"Someone got lit up," Brody laughed when he saw her appearance and she just groaned loudly.
"Yeah! I mean when I looked over you'd gone through a whole keg by yourself, the title is still yours." Alex said in a more hushed tone as she was scared her mother would hear her boasting on about her friends drinking ability, she didn't even know she went to a party.
"Jesus, I can't even remember what happened, apparently I was in a fight- did you guys see?" She asked excitedly and wanted to know that her friends had recorded it so she could see herself kick some ass. However, she was just met with strange looks, "what?"
"Vi, as far as we know there wasn't any fight, at all actually and half way through we looked for you but we couldn't find you." Brody's confession made Violets eyebrows furrow and a frown overtake her lips as she tried to think back to last night. She trailed her hand to her hip where the bruises were and remembered how her hand had gripped at her neck, if you weren't such a drunk you would remember.
Her mothers voice cut through her head and she shook it gently before huffing, "oh," was all she said but it gained laughs out the two on the screen.
"Brody, I think we should let her go, she might still be drunk." Violet just mockingly smiled before holding up both of her middle fingers and ignored their goodbyes as she was already pushing down the screen. She moved the laptop off of her lap and sat up staring at the darkened ceiling with her black shades.
There was no fight, the voice that didn't resemble her mothers and more her own echoed in her head and she pushed her fingers into her temple harshly. "But the Cullens said-
Then they lied.
It hissed back and Violet felt herself quiet down as she let her thoughts wonder, there was no fight as far as she knew but it still confused her on why the Cullens that she encountered would tell her that she had been in one. She looked at the bruises on her hips, definitely in the shape of fingerprints and walked over to the mirror on her dresser, she actually took her sunglasses off for this.
Her finger once again ran over where she had felt the- felt the knife! Her eyes widened and slowly flashes of the night returned to her, a red headed woman had lead her away and for a second Violets stomach sank as she thought that she had been raped but it was pushed aside as she would have felt the soreness between her thighs. The woman had her held up against the tree and she remembered feeling so powerless but then her mind was going blank.
Such a disappointment, you can't even remember yesterday.
Violet groaned in annoyance and hit the side of her head with her palm thinking it would rejuvenate something. She slapped a hand on her dresser draw and her leg started shaking up and down again whilst she tugged at her hair, why can't I just remember?
Then a buzz from her phone made an idea spring to mind and she lurched for the phone on top of her covers. It read a simple notifications of an email probably about her network but that wasn't what she was interested. Her thumb hovered over the contact that read Pixie but then it went lower to see Hair and she bit her lips suddenly becoming nervous. She had never texted Alice before about anything other than the late homework she hadn't done whilst with Edward she would hold up a conversation for a hot minute or two.
Yet, now as she stared at the contacts she didn't know who to call, they had both said she had been in a fight, even their father who's a doctor said she had but a sinking feeling had already settled in and she didn't know what to make of it.
"Don't be a pussy," she whispered to no one but herself and pressed on the contact.
Violet wasn't dumb, she knew what to say but when Pixie picked up the phone saying a very normal, "hello?" She went blank and buttoned the call with a squeal, get it together she's just a girl, who you li-
"Shut up," she sniped to herself in the mirror and if anyone looked in they would have thought she were half mad.
Violet pressed it again this time sighing in deeply and gathering her words, "hello?" The same voice repeated and she nearly pressed the button again until her mouth opened by itself.
"Hi," she practically squeaked out and felt herself turning red by the second, she didn't like calling people out. It was like that awkward scene with a waiter when you have to send the food back because it was undercooked. "Hi," Violet now said much more cooly, "look I was wondering if you would come by my place to hang," oh my god she mouthed and slapped herself in the head again who says hang. "It's okay if you don't want to- you're probably busy and that I just thought-
"Love, I would love to come by and hang," Alice mimicked her down the phone with a very clear smirk given the tone of her voice.
The airy sound her voice emitted made Violets vision cloud slightly and a rush of adrenaline fill her once she heard Alice say love. Then, she realised she'd heard this before, heard the way the Pixie now named her love instead of the one she was given at birth and if Violet wasn't trying to get to the bottom of the night prior she would've swooned even more than she was now.
"Great! See you soon, bye!" In a hurry she hung up the phone but then stared at it in her hand, why am I acting like this. Usually, she was levelheaded and wouldn't have have a rats arse about what she couldn't remember from a drunken night out but this was different, it felt different. The phone buzzed in her hand again and she picked it up with a sheepish, "hello?"
"I think you forgot to give me your address, love," Alice mused from the other side of the phone and now milked the nickname as if she realised the effect it had on Violet.
"Oh," Violet shyly laugh, "sorry, I'll send it through now."
Alice's bell like laughter rang down the line and Violet bit her lip to prevent a smile, "see you later." With that she hung up and now Violet sighed out tiredly before landing back on her mattress with her arms sprawled out. She knew it was slightly cruel to invite the girl over just for her own gain but she knew that her questions wouldn't be answered over the phone, she needed to meet their eyes and usually she was pretty good at telling wether or not someone was lying. In her opinion Alice Cullen, the sweetest one of them all, didn't seem capable of being able to lie to her face.
Violet let out a surprised hum when the door was knocked not even five minutes later and thought it couldn't possibly be her. Until she looked out her bedroom window and indeed saw the girl with the pixie hair cut standing in her doorway, smiling up at her with fingers wagging in a friendly wave.
Her phone buzzed again and she looked to read, didn't want to keep you waiting ;)
