To save them all being arrested or tripping over their own feet as the old croons shouted bloody murder for having such wild children, having a party in the forest just made complete sense.
A small fire was lit giving them light as darkness shadowed itself over the town, laughter sounding dazed with leaves crunching as teens drunkenly stumbled around one another.
Music blasted loudly echoing dimly in Violets ears with a cigarette perched between her lips a bottle of something emptied by her feet. Her mind was hazy as she rested on a large log, Alex was trying on her flirting skills with a girl who was staring blankly at her. Brody had been one of the teens to venture off further into the woods with a jock trailing after him ever since he waited an hour for Jasper to show up.
None of the Cullens had shown themselves and the party had began two hours ago, it made Violet more annoyed than anything else. She didn't have to go out of her own way to invite them only for the family to not show themselves, they could've at least worded their answer like Edwards's.
She even wore a different tank top just so Alice would've been able to see all of her tattoos, she felt stupid.
A hand slid to the lower of her back and Violet arched at the coldness, this was not Emma Jenkins and this was not Alice.
Fiery red hair caught her attention and she turned to see a woman with skin as white as snow and rosy cheeks. If she couldn't feel flesh gripping hers Violet would've thought she was a marionette without strings. She had a distinctive smell to her that rushed up Violet's nose as her fur coat rubbed against her.
She had never seen this girl before not at school or even around Forks but couldn't find the words when the cigarette was plucked from her lips. She followed the trail of her manicured hand and watched as she placed it between her bared teeth.
She took a long drag before throwing it to the side gently blowing the smoke in Violet's face, "I'm Victoria." She spoke lowly with a smirk that looked made for her plump lips.
Violet looked from the hand that was still resting on her back as she slid next to her, "Violet."
Only now when she looked into Victorias eyes was she intrigued as dark blood red eyes bore into her own with a undisputed hunger. "You have nice eyes," she slurred earning a chuckle from the red head.
"As do you, doll." She replied sweetly before running her tongue over her bottom lip, "what do you say we get out of here?"
It was more of a demand than question as her free hand grabbed Violet's pulling her up with ease. Violet didn't say anything, she felt herself have no control over her body as Victoria more or less dragged her away from the warmth of the fire.
She lead them further and further into the dark until the music ceased to reach Violets. The inferno was faint to the Swans vision as she was roughly shoved into the bark of a tree the orange glow a distress beacon.
A pained grunt came from her as the bark nipped at her skin but was silenced by a harsh kiss. Victoria planted her lips on hers, gripping her hip tight enough to leave a bruise with her other hand resting by Violets head.
Violet barely kissed back and tried to back further into the tree as she felt air leaving her lungs, she put her hands on Victorias shoulders in an attempt to flee. There was little effort all the energy had dispersed from the alcohol in her system and she could only squirm in the woman's hold.
She let out what could've been a growl against her lips and gripped Violets jaw, pushing her head back so she was facing the stars. She sucked along the tanned skin leaving purple in her wake until she reached her jugular and Violet felt something sharper than a tooth graze her throat.
"Hey!"
A voice loud and ravenous cut through the woods scattering the birds from the trees.
Violet had closed her eyes moment prior bracing the pain of what was to come for all she knew Victoria had a knife to her throat. Victoria snarled and the girl beneath her felt the pinch in her neck leave when she turned to glare at who interrupted them.
Alice stood a few feet away with her her nose flared, lips pinched in anger and her knees bent preparing to fight with her teeth flashing. Jasper, Rosalie and Emmet- even Edward stood behind the girl with nasty glares and deep rumbles came from their chests.
Violet reopened her eyes and couldn't help even in her drunken state to sigh in relief but it appeared Victoria wasn't as glad as she was.
"Do you mind? your interrupting," she sneered to the other vampires, easily recognising them for what they were.
They kept silent and Alice kept her stare on Victorias hands but asked, "are you alright, Violet?"
Violet let out a whimper of sorts as the red head dig her nails in her hip, "she's fine."
"I wasn't asking you," Alice barked back.
Edward too several steps forward so he was closer than the rest of the family but careful not to anger the woman who held Violets life in her hand. He read what she was thinking and found it vile on what she was going to do with her after drinking her then would've turned her for her own play thing.
"Let her go," he hissed sharply.
Jasper then spoke up coming up on Alice's right side, "you are outnumbered."
Violet kept staring up at the sky humming a small lullaby in her head and Edward glanced at her incredulously.
"This is not your land," Rosalie stiffened her spine and stood straight narrowing her eyes with her fists clenched. Emmett put himself in front of the family letting his knuckles crack as he flexed his hand clenched his jaw tightly.
Victoria looked between them all, she was a runner not a fighter and removed herself from Violet's unusually dainty figure.
Alice instantly moved over to her holding her in a gentle grip that was unfamiliar to Violet as she looked down at the copper haired girl. The pain in her side was replaced by coldness as if Alice was her own ice pack. The thin lines on her jaw from Victorias nails received frowns as she trailed her eyes from there to her throat.
Victoria watched between the two with squinted eyes and Edward snapped his jaw at her making the vampire look between the two women with a devilish smirk before sprinting off.
Violet followed her eyes shuddering lightly as fingertips grazed over the dent her canine had made but the Swan thought it had been a knife, she'd keep thinking it was a knife. She noticed how Alice's eyes were not only a lighter shade of gold but filled with worry instead of a thirst for the girls gaze to remain on her. It gave Violet comfort that she could now rely on more than one person to save her life.
"Alice," she whispered out and gold met hers in an instant.
"Your safe now," Alice gave her a kind smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"I'm tired," her head was already dropping lightly resting against Alice's temple feeling her legs now loose complete mobility and body now fail instead of slow down.
"I've got you, love," to Alice it felt natural to call Violet something as pleasant like love and it slipped out on instinct. She bent down gently lifting the girl in her arms and to some it would've seemed impossible that a girl as small as Alice, compared to Violet that she shouldn't have been able to lift her but she did so with ease.

Violet felt light breaking it away to her eyes but she kept her eyelids tightly shut and turned over on the side away from the window. She sprawled out on the bed but quickly realised something, her bed was not this big.
She lifted her head before scouring her eyes across the room and huffed loudly letting her head fall into the floral scented pillows, this was definitely not her room. Violet couldn't remember anything from last night meaning she'd done the obvious got drunk, slept with someone and woke up in their bed- alone as always.
"You whore," she muttered into the pillow and as she went to sit up a small yelp came from her.
Not only was she confused as her clothes had stayed on, no buttons undone on her pants only her shoes removed. There was also a pain not just in her head but her hip she looked to see a bruise as large as a handprint.
She got up from the bed slipping on the slippers that were neatly placed by the bed, she was sure no one would mind. The room was modern with hard wood floors, a bookcase music and vanity but no tv this now made her worried.
Violet creaked the door open but couldn't hear anyone or anything in the house but one thing she did notice was that whoever she might have slept with was filthy rich. The corridor was grand leading off to many different rooms that she didn't venture into, the staircase was awe inspiring and she let her hand trail along the banister.
The door was large and vintage departing off to a living room and open kitchen but there was something odd that caught her attention. An open window had a tree branch resting very close to the indoors of the house, she was tempted to climb it but with her banging head Violet decided against it.
He living room had a large tv with plush couches and more doors that she wasn't interested in searching. Violet walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge only to whine when there wasn't a single thing in the fridge, she didn't open the freezer too hungover to cook anything.
She found the glasses after searching the many cupboards and filled it with water, thirst lapping at her.
But then she heard the door open and Violet froze lowering the glass from her lips and stood in the kitchen, not knowing what to do. She didn't want to be rude but what was she going to say, Violet waddled towards the archway that lead from the front to the kitchen and her eyes widened.
They hadn't seen her yet but she'd seen them it was the entire family of Cullens with bright smiles on their faces and stains of red liquid on their shirts.
Violet watched with an open mouth as Alice and Jasper glided up the stairs whilst Rosalie and Emmett followed them along. However, Edward stood rigid in place with furrowed eyebrows his eyes darted round the house until his own connected with Violet's.
The blonde man who had treated her many times at the hospital turned round with surprise clear in his face. Carlisle was one of the ones to not have any red littering his clothes along with his wife who she nearly fainted from looking at.
She'd seen Esme at the grocery store many times bumping into her on accident it confused the girl though as there wasn't anything in the fridge. Whenever they'd see one another Esme would give her a kind smile and Violet nearly melted when she would touch her arm.
"Hi," Violet waved her hand by her side and couldn't help but curse herself in her head, what or who did she do last night.
It was Esme who gave her a bright grin and she felt at ease instantly, "hello dear, I heard tha-
Suddenly, a crash was heard and the slamming of a door was heard, "she's gone!" Alice shouted looking over the stairs to her parents and brother in panic but Edward just pointed a finger to Violet.
"Oh," was all Alice said before she beamed down at the girl and hastily made her way down the stairs before stopping in front of her.
She moved the back of her hand to Violet forehead and she felt the girl lean into her touch, the cold eased the ache in her head. Until she pulled back with her nose scrunched she felt a chill run down her spine.
"What happened last night?"
