IT WAS TIME.

The sun had set and the stars drew patterns in the dark blue sky expertly like paint on a canvas, beautifully contrasted giving the effect of two opposites who blend perfectly together.

Auras of anger and anxiousnes swirled in the air and brought down the mood that was supposed to be anything but bad yet they knew it was better than underestimating what could possibly happen.

Huge wooden doors stood just metres away from where the newly found coven stood- Rosalie, Emmett, James, Victoria and Selina- gathering their wits before they walked into the lions den.

The brown haired female stepped forward, her arm raised to knock on the door before a hand grasped her tricep, tugging her backwards into a pair of arms.

She looked up to meet the eyes of her male mate before wrapping her own arms around him comfortingly.

"It's going to be okay, everything's going to work out. It has too" she said it to comfort him but they all knew she was trying to comfort herself too "maybe...maybe the Volturi aren't as bad as everyone thinks"

"Glad to see one of us has some optimism" Rose sighed from behind them as Victoria knocked on the door instead.

"I think I'm pretty optimistic" Emmett grinned, making the sombre situation just that little bit brighter "so I can even out your rough edges" he teased her and she rolled her eyes but accepted the burly arm that was was placed on her shoulders and the kiss to her temple.

The heavy brown door was swung open and the empty eyes of the witch twins were what they were met with, unnerving them further.

"We've come to see Aro" James spoke clearly as they regarded them "we have information he'll want to hear"

"Follow us" Jane's expression remained the same, emotionless and stoney and Alec the same.

The two mates of the brown haired girl stepped forward first followed by the brunette herself and the couple stood behind her like a protective bubble.

The twins led them to the throne room where the three kings sat upon cushioned seats awaiting the next person to walk through with sorry excuses for the mistakes they made.

When the middle king saw who walked through the door next, he somehow sat straighter then he already had been and his eyes sparkled with eagerness, stepping down from his throne and approaching the group.

"My dear Cullens and some...company" he greeted with curiosity at the two he had yet to know.

Selina stepped forward first, her hand outstretched to meet the male brunettes own who took it greedily, his smile only growing with the images he saw.

"Fascinating, your newly found power would certainly be useful to us" he tapped her hand with his free one before pulling away and turning his gaze to James and Victoria "would you do me the honour"

They exchanged glances before the male stepped forward with his arm straight in front of him, willingly giving up all secrets he had ever held dear to him, soon followed by the red head.

"Mm" Aro hummed simply and sat back on his throne, his hands stapled as his elbows rested on the arms of his chair "I think we finally have all we want"
