"HEY, ANGEL" A voice sounded from behind her and she froze completely.

He was right behind her, she could feel it yet she didn't turn around or reply. She just stood there in place.

Victoria had talked to James for a short amount of time to explain how Selena was handling things so he knew all about her worries. He also knew that she should have nothing to worry about, he was disappointed that he hadn't shown her how much she meant even in that tiny amount of time that they spent together.

Already reunited with Victoria about a half an hour earlier, James was itching for the comfort of his other mates arms but didn't push forward until it was clear that she wasn't going to do or say anything.

He took a few steps closer until his front was to her back and ran his nose from the outside of her shoulder to the back of her neck before placing a kiss on the back of her head.

"I don't blame you" he whispered into her ear and that was all she needed to hear from him to spin around and practically tackle him in a hug.

"I'm so sorry" she mumbled into his chest and he sighed.

"It wasn't your fault and I think you know that. You can't blame yourself for something you can't help" he tightened his arms around her body and she nodded slowly "I have to hunt, when I get back me, you and Victoria will spend some time together before we discuss your plan"

"Please be quick" she murmured as he pulled away and he grinned.

"Anything for you Angel" he placed a lingering kiss on her forehead before speeding away to appease the hunger for blood.

Selena sighed as she touched her forehead on the spot that James kissed and Victoria had a small smile on her face at the interaction.

The brunette turned to her female mate and held her arms out like a child asking for a hug. Victoria snorted in amusement but complied with her wishes, smothering her with a comforting hug that seemed to last forever.

They savoured the simple moment because they knew that soon their lives wouldn't be so calm.
