Chapter | 13
selina and her family all pulled their hoods over their heads, she was nestled in between jane and victoria who stood straight in their ranked cloaks. emmett and rosalie were further along the line with the lower ranked guards— they were told that trust had to be built in order to climb but they were perfectly okay with their low position.
"you look excited." selina glanced at jane who's face was a stone replica of stoic. the witch vampire had become like a sister to her and she can read the blonde like a book.
"I took what you said into consideration. I'm happy for alec, whoever his mate is will be given a fair chance." alec listened in and the corner of his mouth flickered with a small smile.
"aw, my baby's all grown up." selina cooed and the smaller woman rolled her eyes. aro looked over to the duo who had been speaking into a void of silence and they both recieved the message to shut their mouths.
they all returned to looking straight forward ready to march across the snowy field. irina denali had recently come to the volturi with news of the new vampire child. things from then had been a rush with organising their clan to oppose the cullens.
now irina stood happily next to her mate, caius with promise of a brighter future away from her unlawful family who threw her away for the monster of a child. the volturi was the heart of the vampire world and selina was beginning to understand just how important they were— not only that but how caring and amazing they were as well.
despite the ushered silence by aro, james and the recently returned laurent were whispering amongst themselves like high school boys which encouraged heidi to elbow her newly found mate and victoria to glare at james.
"children, do behave." marcus joked which pushed everyone into a stunned silence. although his increased mood had been drastic with the new members of the family— mostly selina— who had been bringing a new kind of energy to the volturi which the depressed king really needed.
at the signal of aro, the group moved in unison to the side of the field where carlisle stepped forward to address the kings.
