↳ ❛fate❜

A FEW WEEKS had passend by since the second task and the term was slowly coming to an end. The exams had been finished and the only important thing happening at Hogwarts war the third and last task.

The festive orchestra music quietly reaching the champions changing rooms through the corridors underneath the grandstand.

Annabeth was sitting on the only, rather uncomfortable wooden bench besides Harry, listening to Molly, who was rammbling about her worries concerning Harry's well-being.

To the twins suprise, the whole Weasley family had come as visitors for Harry, even Ron's two eldest brother's Bill and Charlie.

Ron and Hermione had also been there a moment before, but went to save some seats for the family.

The brunnet gave her brother a pointed look, while she turned her body towards him. "You can do this, Harry. You came this far- it's only this one last task."

The boy nodded at her statement, but seemed to be caught up in his own thoughts.

Annabeth placed a hand on his shoulder, pulling him out of his thoughts, "Please- be careful, okay?"

Her brother nodded quickly while he made eye contact with her. Annabeth gave him a quick hug before she slowly got onto her feet and made her way out of the room.

Entering the dim lit hallway, she spotted a couple of heavily bearded wizards, who all seemed to be from several newspapers.

They were all talking to Dumbeldore and turned quickly when they heard Annabeth's footsteps echoing from the walls. But they all quickly lost interesst in her, realizing that she wasn't one of the Champions.

The Potter girl continued her way down the corridor, hurrying past them as quickly as she could before she stopped infront of the door that lead to Cedric's room.

Annabeth new that his parents we're with him, which made her quiet nervous. She pulled her sleeves down, exhaling heavily before she knocked at the door.

Several voices could be heard from inside and after a small moment the door opened, revealing Cedric. The boy had a large smile on his face, showing his perfect white teeth, "Merlin, I almost thought you wouldn't come."

Annabeth quietly stepped inside the little room, immediatly spotting his parents, who were sitting on one of the benches. She gave Cedric an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry, I was with Harry."

The brunnet then made eye contact with his parents before she raised her hand awkwardly, "Hello."

Amos Diggory and his wife smiled at her before they stood up to approach her, "Hello, dear! we heard so much about you!"

Annabeth gave Cedric a curious side glance and smiled when she saw that the boy was flushing madly, "Does he?"

His mother nodded her head eagerly, "Yes, all the -" Cedric suddenly interrupted his mother, seeming embarrassed, "Mum, that's enough!"

His father let out a deep chuckle before he shook Annabeth's hand, a smile on his face. "Who would've thought, huh?"

Annabeth gave him a small smile and nodded her head at him in silence. Cedric's mother seemed to have witnessed this awkward exchange and quickly stepped in, "Amos, I think we should give these two some privacy now. Come on."

The woman grabbed her husbands hand and slowly dragged him out of the room.

After the door closed behind them, Cedric let out a deep sighed. "I'm so sorry- their a bit much sometimes."

Annabeth gave him a small understanding smile, "They love you."

Cedric nodded silenty, before he started fiddling with his fingers. Annabeth watched him curiously before the boy suddenly looked up at her, "I'm nervous."

The brunnet girl gave him a large smile, "That's normal. Everyone is nervous."

She watched him for a small second and then approached him slowly. Standing infront of him she got onto her tiptoes and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "You can do this. I belive in you."

The boy smiled when she leaned back and quickly pecked her onto her lips. The brunette girl couldn't help but smile widely when she looked up into the boy's loving eyes.

"Annabeth, I- I know that it's quick but I think I'm falling inlove with you." There was a moment of silence between them when Annabeth smiled widely while she gazed up into his eyes, "I think I'm falling inlove with you too."

The two remained in each other's embrace for a moment longer, but at least they let go of each other.

Annabeth then went towards the wooden door and opened it, "I'll leave you to your parents."

Cedric grinned at her and waved, "I see you after." She nodded at him in confirmationa and smiled, "I see you after." And with that she disappeared into the corridor.

When the brunette had finally reached the seats, she could see how excited everyone was.

The people were cheering loudly, gigantic flags in red and yellow were swung over their heads and the students had paint all over their face, to support their Champion.

Annabeth was now standing in the ranks between Ron and Hermione, nervously squeezing her hands while she gazed over the crowd.

She only paied attention when she suddenly saw how Cedric's father proudly stepped into the arena, followed shortly by Cedric.

After him followed the other Champions, Fleur and Viktor. Harry was the last Champion, who emerged from the changing rooms.

Annabeth immediatly felt her heart sinking when she saw how Dumbledore looked at Harry. He had a hand placed on her brother's shoulder while his gaze seemed troubled.

The Headmaster then approached the middle of the arena and streched out his arms, "Settle down!"

The crowd immediatly went silent and everyone settled down into their seat, "Earlier today, Professor Moody placed the Triwizard Cup deep within the maze. Only he knows it's exact position. Now, as Mr. Diggory-"

The crowd which was dressed in yellow errupted into loud cheers before Dumbeldore went on, "- and Mr. Potter-" the crowd dressed in red jumped onto their feet and roared as loudly as they could.

"- are tied for first position they will be first to enter the maze, followed by Mr. Krum and Miss Delacour!" The students of the two other school chanted and cheered loudly.

Dumbeldore then continued his speech, "The first person to touch the cup will be the Winner! I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter. Should, at any poin, a contestant wish to withdraw from the task, he or she need only send up red sparks with their wands."

The Headmaster suddenly turned to face the Champions, "Contestants! Gather around! Quickly!"

The silence was just feeding the tension Annabeth was holding. Suddenly Dumbeldore stepped back and shouted, "Contestants, prepare yourselves!"

Annabeth watched how Harry stepped back and was now standing next to Moody. Her eyes quickly flickered to the right side and she saw how Cedric and his father engaged into a loving tight hug.

His father said something to him and clapped him onto the back before he left.

After that Cedric and Harry nodded at each other in silence.

Cedric's gaze slowly wandered over the crowd and Annabeth immediatly jumped onto her feet and waved at him.

Cedric have her a wave and a smile before he slowly turned towards the maze.

"On the count of three! One-"

Suddenly the canon went off and the music started once more.

Harry and Cedric both started entering the maze at the same time and they were almost disappeared when the hedge closed behind them.

Annabeth couldn't hold her feet still while her eyes remained fixed on the hedge. Her mind was racing with hunderets of frightning thoughts.

Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, which made her flinch in surprise.

But she quickly realized that it was only Hermione, who gave her a worried look. "They're gonna be okay."

Annabeth gave her a nodd, not being able to smile, "I hope."

Time flew by after that and everyone stopped chatting when suddenly a red beam shot out of the maze and into the air, exploding into sparks.

There was murmuring making it's way through the crowd and Annabeth held her breath before Dumbeldor announced that it had been Fleur, who was now no longer in condition to be competing.

Ron's hopeful voice suddenly reached Annabeth's ear, "And then there we're only three." Annabeth immediatly shot the ginger haired boy a glare, before her eyes suddenly landed on something else that caught her attention.

The brunnet narrowed her eyes at the person that was standing in the shadows, she coud've sworn that she had just caught sighed off Professor Moddy motioning for her to follow him before he had disappeared behind the stands.

The brunnet got up from her seat and excused herself from the other's, before she quickly hurried away from the crowd.

Arriving under the stands the girl let her gaze wander around, "Professor?"

She took a couple of steps towards the edge of the stands before she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her head and the world immediately went dark.

As soon as the brunette's eyes opened, she felt the sharp pain in the back of her head.

Annabeth immediatly placed her hand on the back of her head and came to realize, that she was bleeding slightly.

Her gaze slowly wandered around her surroundings, a deep frown on her face while she slowly took notice of the fact that she was surrounded by thomb stones.

The sun had already vanished behind the large hills in the distance and a creepy mist was spreading over the wet grass.

The girl slowly got onto her feet before she slowly made her way across the gruesome graveyard.

The brunette felt the goosebumps that erupted over her whole body before suddenly a bright light appeared.

The girl fliched in surprised and fear before she heard the sounds of two bodys colliding with the ground.

Annabeth narrowed her eyes at the two figures, who had appeared in the middle of the graveyard.

It didn't took long before she recognized the bushy brunett hair of her brother. Suddenly she heard Cedric's familiar voice, "Where are we?"

Annabeth quickly hurried over to them, her hand grabbing her wand that was in her pocket. "You can guess three times."

Harry and Cedric seemed to be completely shocked by her presence, their eyes wide while they stared at her, "Anni, what are you doing here?"

The brunnet shook her head while she came to a stand in front of the two boys, "I would like to know that too. I thought I saw- well I think someone kocked me out."

There was a moment of silence between them, while the boys kept looking around. Harry's voice showed his confusion, "I've been here before."

Cedric eyed the Triwizard Cup with a impressed smile on his face, "It's a Portkey. Harry, Annabeth, the Cup is a Portkey!"

"I've been here before, in a dream", Harry said to himself, his voice suddenly seemed scared and hectic and Annabeth felt the fear creeping up on her. She knew exactly what that meant.

"We have to get back to the Cup! Now!"

Cedric have them both an cofused look and Annabeth quickly hurried over to him, taking his hand in her own. "What are you talking about?"

Suddenly a door was quietly opened in the distance. The screeching that reached their ears made the three snap around to the sound.

Annabeth flinched when Harry suddenly started screaming from the top of his lung. "Harry, what is it?"

The brunnet boy seemed to be in a lot of pain while he motioned for them to step away from him, leaning onto his knees he waved at them to get away, "Get back to the cup now!"

Annabeth immediatly tried to push Cedric towards the Cup, the panic rising in her chest, "You have to Go, Ced! Leave!"

The boy frowned and quickly shook his head while he remained standing next to her, "No- not without you."

He then turned towards the small person that was approaching them and raised his wand confidently, "Who are you what do you want!?

Suddenly a scratchy, hissing voice spoke, "Kill the spare!"

The person, who Annabeth could now recognize as Wormtail raised his wand and shouted, "Avada kedavra!"

Everything happed fast, Annabeth couldn't move when she screamed at him, "Nooo, Cedric!"

But it was too late, the bright green light beam shot out of Wormtails wand and hit Cedric directly into his chest, making him fly backwards through the air.

The boy was yanked away from her arms and landed further away besides a thomb stone, his now lifeless and empty eyes staring up at Annabeth.

The tears started dropping down Annabeth's cheeks, before Wormtail moved his wand and lifted Harry and her up into the air.

The large marbel statue behind them started moving it's arms and both of the siblings were trapped behind them.

The creature that Wormtail was holding in his hand spoke once more, "Do it! Now!"

The short man spun around and let the creature fall into the cauldron that stood in front of the statue. He then moved his wand and the ground opened, revealing a bone that flew into the air.

He then droppen the bone into the cauldron, "Bone of the father- unwillingly given." He then tucked his wand away in his robe, "Flesh of the servent-"

He pulled out a long knife and stepped further infront of the cauldron. He raised his arm and spoke shakily, "- willingly sacrificed."

Annabeth's eyes widened in shock when she watched how Wormtail cut of his own hand, which fell into the cauldron while he screamed out in pure pain.

The man then looked up to the siblings, "And blood of the enemy-" He suddenly approached Harry and cut his shirt open, revealing his arm to the cold night air.

The man held up the kinfe and cut Harry's arm open, making him scream out in pain, "-forcibly taken."

He then turned his attention back to the bubbling cauldron, letting the blood dropped into the grey liquid. "The Dark Lord shall rise- again!"

As soon as the red blood hit the grey liquid, it turned red and started swirling while smoke rose up into the air.

Harry screamed from the top of his lung when the cauldron suddenly levitated into the air and formed into a creature that was now hoovering in the air.

Annabeth hadn't seen anything like this and a dark mist was now twirling around it, blocking her view partly.

After a small moment the mist had cleared and Annabeth felt her heart drop when she realized that Voldemort had just succeeded to take his normal form.

If it was possible, the girl felt her heartbeat quicken even more. She could still hear her brother's screams while Voldemort was getting used to his body.

After a moment, Voldemort approached Wormtail, who seemed to be in complete fear. His voice was low and scratchy, "My wand, Wormtail."

The servant held it out for his master to take and after he did, he gazed down at the little man infront of him. "Hold out your arm."

Wormtail seemed like he was about to cry, his face still scrunched up in pain, "Master!- Thank you, master!"

He held his arm blunt out, but Voldemort gave him an impatient glare, "The other arm, Wormtail!"

Annabeth couldn't see what the two were doing, but a moment after Voldemort had grabbed Wormtail arm, she could hear rumbling between the dark clouds and the Dark Mark appeared in the night sky.

The girl gluped while she watched the snake emerging from the skulls mouth, but before she could fully process what was happening, black mist appeared and in the blink of an eye a group of Death eaters were standing around the garveyard.

They all wore dark cloaks and mask that looked like a skull.

Voldemort immediately started pacing back and forth infront of them, "Welcome, my friends! Thirteen years it's been, and yet- here you stand before me as thought it we're only yesterday."

He let his gaze wander over his followers, who decided to show that night. "I confess myself disappointed. Not one of you tried to find me!"

He suddenly started running around, pulling the mask off of their faces. "Crabbe! Macnair! Goyle!"

Everyone of them immediatly sunk onto their knees infront of him.

He then slowly walked over to the last standing Death Eater, "Not even you-" He pulled down his silver mask, "-Lucius."

Lucius Malfoy immediatly sunk onto his knees like all the other's had, gazing up at his master in obediance.

His voice was only a whisper when he spoke, "My Lord, had I detected any sign, a whisper of your whereabouts-"

Voldemort gave him a cold look through his snake like eyes, "There were signs, my slippery friend, and more than whispers!"

"I assure you, my Lord, I have never renounced the old ways-", Lucius got onto his feet and pulled down his hood. "The face I have been obliged to present each day since your absence- that ist my true mask."

Suddenly Wormtail spoke, his healthy arm in the air, "I returned!"

Voldemort quickly approached him and Wormtail flinched in fear, "Out of fear, Not loyalty!- Still you have proven yourself useful these last few months, Wormtail."

Voldemort patted his head and quickly moved his wand, making a hand out of silver appear on Wormtails arm. The man exhaled in dissbelive while he held up his new hand, "Thank you, Master. Thank you!"

Voldemort didn't acknowledge him while he started walking around his circle of Death Eaters.

He let his gaze wander around when he suddenly took notice of Cedric's dead body, which was still laying between the thomb stones.

He placed his dirty foot onto the boy's rosie cheek and pushed his head aside, "Such a handsome boy!"

Before Annabeth could stop herself she screamed, "Don't touch him!"

Voldemort's gaze snapped towards the twins, "Annabeth!- Harry! I'd almost forgotten you two were here!"

His voice got low and and filled with venom when he approached them, "Standing on the bones of my father! Yeah- I'd introduce you but word has it you're almost as famous as me these days."

He was standing right infront of them when he spun around to his followers, "The boy and girl who lived!"

His head then immediatly snapped back towards them, "How lies have fed your legend! Shall I reveal what really happened that night 13 years ago? Shall I divulge how I truly lost my powers?"

Voldemort started pacing once more, "Yes, shall I?"

He stopped and galred at the twins, "It was love! You See, when dear, sweet Lily Potter gave her life for her son and daughter, she provided the ultimate protection. I could not touch him."

He let his gaze wander over his followers, "It was old maigc! Something I should have foreseen. But no matter, no matter. Things have changed!""

The man suddenly sped forward and yanked up his arm, before he stopped right infront of Harry.

His voice was only a whisper when he pressed his finger onto Harry's scar, "I can touch you- now!"

Harry immediatly started screaming from the top of his lung while Voldemort started laughing maniac like.

Annabeth felt a cold shower running down her spin while she watched how he let go of Harry, "Astonishing what a few drops of your blood will do, eh, Harry?"

"Pick up your wands!" He suddenly moved his wand and the statue moved and set both of the siblings free.

Annabeth collided with the grass and let out a loud grunt.

She then immediatly crawled over to her wand, which was still laying in the grass, while Harry got onto his feet.

Voldemort's voice reached Annabeth's ear, "I said, pick it up! Get up! Get up!"

She quickly grabbed her wand and jumped onto her feet, her eyes trained on the wizard, who was standing on their opposite.

Her heart was heavily beating in her chest and she gluped while the dark Wizard on their opposite seemed to be quiet eager. "You've been taught how to duel, I presume, yes? First, we bow to each other."

Voldemort bowed to Harry and Annabeth while the two teenagers watched him. He lifted his head and gave them a serious look, "Oh, come on now, the niceties must be observed. Dumbeldore wouldn't want you to forget your manners, would he?"

His face changed to one of cruelty, "I said, bow!" He held up held up his wand and pointed it at them.

Annabeth immediatly felt a surge of pain rush through her whole body while she bowed over.

Harry's grunting reached her ear, but the girl was to preoccupied with her own pain. Voldemort seemed satisfied, "That's better- and now-"

He rushed towards Harry and Annabeth before he pushed them towards the ground and pointed His wand at them, "Crucio!"

Annabeth felt like she was about to be burn alive, the pain was indescribable. She felt her muscles flinching but she had no absolutely no control over her body.

Suddenly the feeling stopped and Voldemort shouted, "Attaboy, Harry! Your parents would be proud!"

Annabeth roleld onto her side, breathing heavily while she tried to catch her breath.

Voldemort leaned over them, his eyes staring into Harry's, "Especially your filthy Muggle mother."

Harry's voice seemed quiet when he flicked his wand, "Expellia-"

A red beam shot at Voldemort, but He easily defelcted it before he let Harry fly backwards once more.

He then flicked his wand and Annabeth was yanked over the ground until she layed next to her brother.

"I'm going to kill you tonight. I'm going to destroy you", the Dark Lord spoke while he slowly walked over to them.

He bend down, his snake eyes staring into Annabeth's and Harry's, his voice calm, "After tonight, no one will ever again question my powers. After tonight, if they speak of you they'll speak only of how you begged for death. And I- being a merciful Lord- obliged."

He then suddenly straightened up and screamed, "Get up!"

He moved his hand and Annabeth felt how her body was getting up without her agreement.

Voldemort spun in his heel and walked back towards his Death Eaters. Annabeth used that chance and quickly grabbed Harry by his hand before she pulled him behind a large thomb stone.

"Don't turn your back on me! I want you to look at me when I kill you!", Voldemort shouted at them before the two quickly jumped out of the way and a curse flew over their heads.

Harry and Annabeth exchanged a look with each other while they still heard him screaming, "I want to see the light leave your eyes!"

Harry seemed to gather his strengh when he have his sister a worried look. Annabeth nodded at him in determination, "There's no other way."

The two quickly grabbed their wands tight and came out from behind the thomb stone.

Voldemort was still standing infront of the Death Eaters when they stepped out into the middle of the graveyard.

Annabeth gave him a cold glare while she stepped infront of Harry, "Have it your way!"

She quickly flicked her wand and so did the Dark Lord.

"Expelliarmus!"

"Avada Kedavra!"

The green and red beam collided with one another half way through and a bright light emerged from the connection.

Annabeth held onto her wand while she felt the beams batteling each other for dominance.

The Death Eaters behind Voldemort seemed to be taken back by the strengh of her spell, but Voldemort screamed, "Do nothing! They are mine to finish!"

Annabeth felt her beam succeding to push Voldemort's curse backwards and suddenly a little wave of light errupted fron their connection.

Annabeth frowned when suddenly a small bright beam shot out of their connection.

It was circling around their spells and when it stopped moving, Annabeth could recognize that it was Cedric.

Her heart immediatly sunk when she looked up into his face, but before she could say something another bright light emerged.

This time it was an old man, who was staring at Voldemort.

Annabeth didn't recognize him but after him came two other beams of light.

They made their way across the sky and stopped when they had reached Harry and Annabeth.

"Harry! Annabeth! When the connection ist broken, you must get to the Portkey!", her fathers voice suddenly came from besides her.

The girl's head snapped towards the shiny and see through image of her father that was right besides her.

She quickly nodded at him, her eyes filling with tears. "We can linger for a Moment to give you some time- but only a moment. Do you understand?"

Annabeth was crying while she nodded her head, "I understand!"

Harry gave his sister a confused Look before Cedric caught their attention, "Annabeth, take my body back, will you? Take my body back to my father."

Harry and Annabeth both nodded eagerly and Annabeth wanted to say so many things in that moment.

"Let go- Sweetheart, you're ready! Let Go! Let Go!" Her mother encouraged her and Annabeth nodded before she broke the connection between the wands.

The lights were shooting back into Voldemort's wand and the two hurried over to Cedric before Harry quickly flicked his wand, "Accio!"

The cup flew towards them and Harry caught it, making them all disapear.

HER SURROUNDINGS WERE spinning and Annabeth didn't knew where she was until her body suddenly collided with the hard ground.

All the air was squeezed out of her lung and she inhaled deeply.

The crowd behind them immediatly begann roaring and everyone cheered.

But Annabeth ignored them and quickly sat up, before she crawled over to Harry and Cedric.

Her eyes were already filled with tears when she heard that the orchestra playing in the background.

Harry was already crying, a hand placed on Cedric's chest and Annabeth quickly wrapped her arms around the boy's torso, sobbing loudly.

The tears where rolling down her chest when she placed her hand over his heart and didn't feel anything.

Suddenly Fleur screamed out in pure horror and after that, more and more spectators started to realize what had happened.

Suddenly Dumbeldore was trying to pull Annabeth off of Cedric, but the girl didn't let him. "No! No! No!"

Cornelius Fudge appeared besides them, "For God's sake, Dumbeldore, what's happened?"

Harry was still in complete shock while he loudly cried out, "He's back! He's back!- Voldemort's back! Cedric - He asked us to bring his body back! We couldn't leave him, not there!"

Dumbeldore grabbed his face and forced Harry to look at him, "It's all right, Harry! It's all right! He's home! You both are!"

Annabeth let out another loud sob while she could hear Fudges voice, "Keep everybody in their seats! A Boy hast Just been killed!"

Whispers went through the crowd and only Annabeth and Harry's sobbing could be heard while the teachers we're gathering around them.

"The body must be moved, Dumbeldore. There are too many people." Fudge whispered hurried.

Annabeth only lifted her head when she heard Amos Diggory's voice, "Let me through! Let me through!"

The man quickly pushed through the crowd and when Cedric came into few he broke down in the matter of seconds. "That's my son! That's my boy!"

He started sobbing while he went down onto his knees, Harry and Annabeth gazed up at the man while he cried out once more, "That's my boy!"

He started screaming while Moody suddenly grabbed Annabeth and Harry by their arms and yanked them up onto their feet. "Come on, get up! Easy!"

Annabeth still felt the aftermath of the Cruciatus curse in her legs, so she only tried to stand without pain.

But Harry shook his head heavily and tried to fight the Professor off, but Moody just shook his head at him, "This is not where you want to be right now. Come on."

Annabeth could hear Amos screaming and the tears were still rushing down her cheeks while she sobbed to herself.

Moody quickly pushed her and Harry away from the tournament and into the silent castle.

Annabeth was so caught up in her grieve, that she didn't realize where the man was talking them, until the two finally sat in his personal chambers.

"Are you two all right?" Harry nodded his head, seeming absent, while Annabeth just remained silent, staring off into the distance.

Moody gave her a quick glance before he focused on Harry's bleeding wound, "Does it hurt?"

"Not so much now."

"Perhaps I better take a look at it", the Professor stated while he carefully grabbed Harry's blood soaked sleeve and pulled it up, revealing the wound.

Harry's voice was now steady while he spoke, "The cup was a Portkey. Someone had bewitched it."

Annabeth watched how Moody stopped examining Harry's wound as soon as he spoke those words. "What was it like? What was he like?"

Annabeth frowned at him in confusion, "Who?"

Moody gave her a dark glare, "The Dark Lord." He let go of Harry's arm and stommped off towards a shelf with potions in it.

"What was it like to stand in his presence?" His voice questioned while they sat with their backs towards him.

"I don't know- it was like I'd fallen into one of my dreams- into one of my nightsmares", Harry explained slowly while he stared at the dirty ground infront of him.

Annabeth could hear the Professor moving behind them before he suddenly questioned, "Were there other's?- In the graveyard, were there other's?"

Harry stuttered for a minute, thinking about who else had been there, but then he frowned in confusion,"I don't think I said anything about a graveyard, Professor."

Annabeth's head snapped towards Moody, who was already staring at them, his magical eye spinning. "Marvelous creatures, dragons, aren't they? Did you think that miserable oaf woud've led you into the woods if I hadn't suggested it?"

Moody was now rushing over to another shelf and yanked the glass doors open before he pulled something out of it. "Do you think Cedric Diggory woud've told you to open the egg underwater if I hadn't told him first myself?"

He spun around to them, his eyes showing his madness, "Do you think Neville Longbottom, the witless wonder- could've provided you with gillyweed if I hadn't given him the book that led him straight to it, huh?"

He approached Harry and Annabeth, now leaning over them, when Harry questioned, "It was you from the beginning? You put my name in the Goblet of fire. You bewitched Krum, but you-"

The man mimicked his whimpering, "But-but-but- You won because I made it so, Potter!" He approached Harry once more, "You ended up in that graveyard tonight because it was meant to be so. And now the deed is done."

He grabbed Harry's arm with force and the boy grunted in pain, "The blood that runs through these veins runs within the Dark Lord."

He approached the shelf once more before he faced them, there was something weird happening to his face, but Annabeth couldn't quiet see what it was.

"Imagine how he will reward me when he learns that I have once and for all -" His head snapped to both sides, like he was having a seizur, before he continued, "-silenced the great Potters'!"

Moody held up his wand and Annabeth's eyes widened when suddenly the door begind the Professor flew open and Dumbeldore hurried inside.

"Expelliarmus!"

Moody flew onto the chair behind him and collided with the brick wall.

Dumbeldore, Snape and McGonnagal approached him, holding him at wand point.

The Headmaster then forced Moody to open his mouth and Snape gave him a potion.

"Do you know who I am?"

Moody's face was scrunched up in hatred, while he hissed, "Albus Dumbeldore."

Dumbeldore shook the man, "Are you Alastor Moody? Are you?"

The man stared up at him, with cold eyes, "No." Dumbeldore's voice was loud and aggressiv, "Is he in this room? Is he in this room?"

Moody gazed at the trunk that was standing in the corner and everyone's head snapped towards it.

Snape immediately flicked his wand and the trunk slowly opened for them.

The teachers and the siblings stepped forward and when they glanced inside they saw no other than the Auror Alastor Moody sitting at the bottom.

"You all right, Alastor?" The Auror gave the Headmaster an apologetic gaze, "I'm sorry, Albus."

Harry gave Dumbeldor a questioning look, "That's Moody, but then who's -"

Snape flipped the flask open and smelled on it, "Polyjuice Potion."

Dumbeldore nodded at him, "Now we know who's been stealing from your stores, Severus."

Annabeth saw how Snape and Harry exchanged a look behind Dumbeldore's back. "We'll get you up in a minute."

Suddenly the man behind them started groaning in pain while his features started melting into each other.

Annabeth frowned while she tried to recognize the features that were forming and finally she gasped when she realized that it was no other thanβ€”

Dumbeldore pushed the young man back into his chair, "Barty Crouch Junior."

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours", the man simply stated while he pulled up his sleeve, revealing the Dark Mark which adorned his arm.

Dumbeldore immediatly grabbed Harry's imjured arm and pulled it forward.

Barty Crouch gave them an excited gaze and smiled widely, "You know what this means, don't you? He's back. Lord Voldemort has returned!"

Harry had a guilty expression on his face before he slowly pulled his arm back, "I'm sorry, Sir. I couldn't help it."

The Headmaster glanced at McGonnagal, "Send an owl to Azkaban. I think they'll find they're missing a prisoner."

Crouch had this manic twinkle in his eyes, while he called out, "I'll be welcomed back like a hero!"

Dumbeldore glanced at him over his shoulder while he led Harry and Annabeth out of the room, "Perhaps- personally, I've never had much time for heroes."
