.βŠΉβ€βž· CHAPTER ELEVEN !
↳❛wold cup❜

IT WERE ALREADY the last couple of days, before the start of the new term and Harry and Annabeth had arrived by the burrow a couple days ago.

In the first few weeks of the holidays, Mr. Weasley had informed them, that he had gotton cards for the Quidditch world cup. It was an understatement to say that Annabeth and Harry were excited.

It was very early in the morning when Annabeth and Hermione woke the boys. They had breakfast and before Annabeth was even fully awke the group started their journey to the World Cup.

An hour of walking through the meadow went by, and at some point Ron's exhausted voice could be heard from further behind them, "Hey, dad! Where are we going?"

"Haven't the foggiest. Keep up!", Arthur yelled back at his son while he peeked over his shoulder.

Annabeth heard Ron groan in annoyance which made her chuckle to herself as she tried to keep up with Hermione and Ginny.

She was still pretty tired because she hadn't slept much the night before, she had this gutting feeling she always had when something bad was about it happen. Additional to that she could've sworn that she had heard Voldemorts voice slythering through her dreams, which she didn't like at all.

A yawn escaped her mouth and the Weasley twins both eyed her without saying a word. The two were in a bad mood because Molly had found their prank sets.

They had been arguing with her before they set off towards the cup and the two were not bearable with that kind of attitude.

Suddenly a unknown male voice caught their attention, "Arthur! It's about time, son!"

"Sorry Amos, some of us had a bit of a sleepy start", Arthur stated jokingly while he looked over at Ron and Harry.

"This is Amos Diggory, everyone. Works with me at the Ministry", the ginger haired man introduced the man to the teenagers.

Arthur came to a stand infront of the man with galsses as suddenly someone jumped down from the tree, they all stood under, startling them.

"And this strapping young lad must be Cedric, am I right?", Arthur questioned the tall, brunette boy, who nodded affirmative. "Yes, sir."

The two shook hands and Annabeth's eyes wandered over his body, she hadn't seen Cedric in quiet some time.

Cedric Diggory was quiet frankly a very handsome boy, around the age of sixteen. The boy was pretty popular by the boys and girls, loved by everyone, who met him. Mostly by the girls.

Fred and George for example, didn't seemed that happy to see the boy, because of the event of last years Quidditch match. They still held a grudge against him for catching the snitch while Harry was falling from his broom.

Annabeth couldn't understand how they could hold a grudge against the boy, when he did nothing wrong, he didn't knew that Harry was falling off his broom.

"Are this all yours?", Amos then questioned him interested and Arthur spun around to the group. "Oh no, only the redheads. This is Hermione a friend of Ron's, Annabeth and Harry-", Arthur wanted to introduced the group to the Diggory's but Amos interrupted him.

"Merlin's beard! Harry? Harry and Annabeth Potter?", the man questioned the brunette boy and girl on his opposite.

"Uh, yes."

"Ced, talked about you of course, told us all about playing against you last year. I said to him, I said, Ced, that'll be something to tell your grandchildren, that will. You beat Harry Potter."

Harry remained silent as he looked at the proud father and Fred and George's faces darkened even more, if that was possible.

Annabeth's eyes fell onto Cedric, who seemed quite embarrassed by his father's behavior. He rubbed his neck awkwardly, "Harry fell off his broom dad. I told you it was an accident."

"Yes, but you didn't fall off, did you?", Amos questioned his son smiling. He slapped his son onto the back.

"Always modest I said, always the gentleman. But the best man won. I'm sure Harry would say the same. Wouldn't you, eh? One falls off his broom, one stays on. You don't need to be a genius to tell which one is the better flyer." Harry just looked at the older man without showing any kind of reaction and Annabeth tried to look everywhere else, but at Amos Diggory.

"Must be nearly time", Mr. Weasley quickly stated when he took a glance at his watch. "Do you know if we are waiting for any more, Amos?"

The man shook his head. "Oh, no. The Loovegoods have been there for a week already and the Faucets couldn't get tickets."

"All right then, let's get to the Portkey", Arthur sighed quietly before they followed after the Diggory's.

"Right over there", Amos informed the group loudly and Annabeth finally spotted the Portkey.

Suddenly Cedric fell into step with the brunette and her brother, "Hey, just wanted to apologize for my dad. He's a bit-" But Harry waved him off quickly, an understanding look on his face, "It's alright, Cedric." With that the brunette boy walked off towards Ron.

Annabeth gave Cedric an appreciative smile, while she nodded her head. "Thank you thought."

"Why are we standing around a manky old boot?", Harry questioned the other's confused. As Fred and George passed him they answered, "That isn't just any manky old boot-"

"It's a Portkey!"

"Time to go!", Mr. Weasley warned them and Annabeth crouched down in-between her brother and Cedric.

They all grabbed onto the boot, "Ready! After three. One, two-"

Hermione realized that Harry's hand wasn't on the boot, "Harry!" The brunette boy quickly grabbed onto it and a moment later everything started spinning wildly.

Annabeth started shouting, as did the others while they continued spinning quickly in a circle. Suddenly there was a bright light and Mr. Weasley looked at the teenagers, smiling, "Let go!"

Annabeth gave him a disbelieving look. She thought of him as mental for a small second. "What?"

"Let go!"

They all hesitantly let go of the boot and started falling quickly. Annabeth closed her eyes in fear and started screaming loudly, as her body overturned a couple of times.

The brunette thought she would get sick but in that exact moment her body hit the hard ground. Annabeth grunted loudly and opened her eyes, realized that she laid on a green meadow.

Her bag was laying beside her on the ground, her hands placed over her head to shield it from the fall.

In that moment Arthur, Amos and Cedric came, walking down towards them, "I'll bet that cleared your sinuses, eh?"

The Potter girl gave him an annoyed looked, still laying on the ground, right next to Hermione and Ron.

As soon as Cedric had placed a foot onto the grass, he immediately approached Annabeth, helping her up onto her feet, a smile playing on his lips. "Rough landing?"

The brunnette blushed slightly, her hand remained in his for a small moment. "Yeah. Thank you."

The boy nodded at her before he let go off her hand and joined his father and Arthur.

Hermione and Ginny gave Annabeth a knowing look and giggled, before they quickly followed after the other's.

They all succeeded to walk up the hill and as soon as Annabeth's eyes spotted the many tents and flagges in red and green colours her mouth dropped open.

There were many people, cheering, having fun, playing music and watching the many artist that put on a show for them.

"Well, kids, welcome to the Quidditch World Cup!", Arthur said excited as they all continued to watch the crowd for a moment.

The group made their way through the tents and people, amazed by every little bit of the World Cup.

After a while Amos patted Arthur's shoulder and smiled, "Parting of the ways, I think, old chap."

Arthur nodded while Cedric saluted Annabeth and smiled, "See you later."

The brunette smiled before the group continued their way without the Diggory's. After a moment Mr. Weasley finally stopped in his track, "Ah, this is us!"

The man stepped into the tent, "We'll be a bit cramped, but I think we'll all squeeze in, come take a look."

The teenagers exchanged a look before they bent down and ducked under the tend flap.

The Weasley immediately threw their stuff everywhere and the twins sat onto the chairs and exhaled while they both placed their feet onto the table.

"Ron, get out of the kitchen! We're all hungry", Mr. Weasley exclaimed loudly before he made his way into the kitchen.

"Yeah, get out of the kitchen, Ron!", the twins explained loudly, smirking at each other. Mr. Weasley gave them a warning look, "Feet off the table!"

"Feet off the table!", The twins repeated his words and pretend like they would do as he said. But as soon as Mr. Wesley took his eyes off of them, they put their feet back were they'd been before.

Annabeth's jaw dropped as soon as her eyes traveled over the inside of the tent. It had transformed into an old-fashioned three-room flat. It even had a bathroom and a kitchen.

Harry was standing besides her, his mouth open as well, "I love Magic."

It was the very next day, evening and completely dark outside, when the Weasley's, Hermione, Harry and Annabeth made their way through the stadium.

"Blimey, Dad! How far up are we?", Ron questioned his dad, when they had already climbed hundreds off stairs.

Annabeth panted slightly while she tried to hold pace with the other's.

"Well, put it this way- If it rains you'll be the first to know", Lucius Malfoy's voice came from a level below them.

The white haired man was looking up towards the Weasley family, a disgusted expression on his face.

Annabeth eyed the man for a small moment, hate welling up in herself.
Her eyes than suddenly fell onto the person besides him. It was Draco that smirked up at them, proudly, "Father and I are in the Minister's box- by personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself!"

They contiued walking, and so did the Malfoy's. Annabeth scrunched up her nose, before she let her eyes travel over him.

Draco wore a black suit and his haircut was new. They were just slightly shorter than last year.

His father pushed his cane into Draco's stomach, "Don't boast, Draco! There's no need with these people."

Annabeth gave the man a glare while Harry and the other's wanted to turn around. But Lucius quickly hit the head of his cane onto Harry's foot, holding him in place. His eyes were small while he glared up at the two Potters'. "Do enjoy yourself, won't you? While you can."

He gave them one last quick smirk before he let go of Harry. Annabeth couldn't stop herself from letting out a remark, "Oh, we will."

She then gave Draco one last look, the boy was looking down onto the floor, only his eyes slightly looking up at her.

Their gaze met and Annabeth was the first to look the other way, while following after the Weasley's.

"Come on up! Take your seats. I told you these seats would be worth waiting for", Mr. Wesley exclaimed, so that they would hear him over the loud wind.

Annabeth had a large smile on her face while she followed after Cedric and Hermione.

The brunnette had just stopped besides the tall, brunette boy, when suddenly the Quidditch players flew directly over their heads.

The brunette gasped in surprise grabbing onto Cedric's arm in worry of loosing her balance. As soon as she realized her actions, their eyes met and Annabeth let go of his arm immediately. Chuckling nervously she took a step back from the boy, wanting to hide the blush that was forming on her cheeks.

"It's the Irish!", Fred exclaimed from besides Harry, a excited glint in his eyes. "There's Troy!"

"And Mullet!"

"And Moran!" The twins were obviously pretty excited.

The players flew past each other and a couple of fireworks went off, forming a dancing goblin.

The crowd was amazed, chanting over and over again. "Ireland!"

"Here come the Bulgarians!", George's voice reached Annabeth's ear.

The Quidditch players flew through the fireworks, making them chance from green to red. Everyone in the Stadion gasped loudly at their entrance.

The Bulgarians then made their rounds, the famous Quidditch player, Krum at the front.

"Who's that?", Ginny questioned the twins, a smile on her face.

"That, sis, is the best Seeker in the world!", Fred exclaimed while he pointed at Krum, who was now shown on the large monitor.

The crowd stared chanting his name, and the twins immediately joined in, making Annabeth chuckle to herself.

Suddenly the Ministers voice silenced the crowd, "Good evening! As Minister for Magic- it gives me great pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the final of the 422nd Quidditch World Cup! Let the match- beginn!"

The man gave the start signal and after that the players immediately started the game.

"KRUM! KRUM! KRUM!"

Annabeth rolled with her eyes while she watched Fred and George dance around, chanting the Bulgarian seekers name as loud as they could.

"There's no one like Krum!", Ron suddenly spoke up loudly as he stood on top of a chair.

The twins looked at each other with wide eyes, "Krum?"

"Dumb Krum?"

"He's like a bird, the way he rides the wind!", Ron continued which made Annabeth suppress a chuckle from escaping her mouth. "He's more than an athlete!"

Fred and George continued to circle around their younger brother, still chanting Krums name.

"He's an artist!"

"I think you're in love, Ron!", Ginny stated while she smiled at her brother, while she patted his arm.

Ron shot her a death glare from his chair, "Shut up."

Fred and George immediately hopped onto Ginny's joke, "Viktor, I love you!"

"Viktor, I do!"

Suddenly everyone joined in, singing the vers they all knew, "When we're apart my heart beats only for you!"

In that second there came loud noises from outside the tend, catching everyone's attention.

"Sounds like the Irish have got their pride on."

Suddenly Arthur entered the tend, interrupting them, fear in his eyes. "It's not the Irish! We've gotta get out of here. Now!"

The man grabbed Ginny's arm and immediately lead everyone out of the tend.

As soon as Annabeth set a foot of of the tend, the first person ran past her, "Get out! It's the Death Eaters!"

The girl immediately felt her heart dropp. All the colour was drained from her face and when she looked at the others, she could feel her heart beating in her ears.

She could hear Arthur's voice only very quiet, "Get back to the Portkey, everybody, and stick together!"

"Fred, George! Ginny is your responsibility! Go!"

Suddenly a wave of people rushed past them, making the other's disappear along with them.

"Harry! Annabeth!"

The two turned around and saw Hermione, who motioned for them to follow after her quickly.

The brunette girl grabbed her brother's hand and Harry dragged her along with him. Annabeth felt the panic rise in her chest, when they at some point, suddenly lost sight of the other's.

The only thing she could still hear was Hermione's voice, but at some point her voice was gone as well.

The two Potters' were dragged along with the crowd and when something exploded next to Annabeth, she was thrown to the ground and lost conscious.

When she looked her eyes again, everything around her was destroyed. The tents were burned down and smoke rose into the air.

Getting onto her feet the brunette saw a group of wizards in dar cloth and masks walk through the tents. The brunette quickly approached the edge of the forest. Immediately searching for hiding in that darkness of the trees, she felt her heart racing heavily in her chest.

Pressing her body against the back of a tree she in- and exhaled deeply. There was another explosion and a few screams could be heard from the distance.

"Scare easily, don't they?", a voice suddenly came from the darkness.

Annabeth's head snapped into the direction of the voice and immediately spotted the blond hair of Draco Malfoy, who was leaning realxed against one of the trees. His arms were folded over his chest and he looked her up and down.

"Where's your better half and the rest of your blood traitor friends?", the boy questioned her with a raised eyebrow.

Annabeth shot him a glare, while she spoke angrily, "Shut up, Malfoy!"

The boy immediately took a couple of quick steps towards her, his finger over his mouth, motioning for her to lower her voice.

He only stood a couple of inches away from her now, his warm breath hitting her face. Annabeth inhaled and she caught a hint of his sent, he was smelling like cedarwood and mint. "Shh. Or are you keen on finding out what they'll do when they find one of the chosen ones?"

The brunette girl stared up at him, her chocolate brown eyes not showing any hint of fear. "Careful, Malfoy." She raised one of her dark eyebrows at him, a smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth. "That almost sounded like you care-"

She was just about to finish her scentence when Draco took a step forward and pressed his hand over her mouth. Annabeth immediately went silent and the blond boy cover her body with his, pressing her more against the tree.

The brunette Gryffindor could feel every muscle on his body, while she had her hands firmly placed around his wirst. His heart hammered in his chest, exactly like her's did.

Draco didn't seem to care as he still pressed his hand to her mouth, hoping she wouldn't make any sound.

Annabeth could hear a couple of voices passing by them, before they disappeared into the distance.

Draco then slowly stepped back from her, his blue eyes staring into her brown ones. "That was a close one. You better be careful walking around here alone, Potter."

Annabeth seemed out of breath while she tried to process just how close her and Draco Malfoy had just been to each other.

She then broke their eye contact, blinking a few times before she spun around. Peeking through the leaves of the trees, she saw how the last group of death eaters just vanished into thin air.

The brunette faced the blond Slytherin boy, "I better go looking for the other's."
Without waiting for an answer from him the girl then pushed through the trees and stummbled onto the filed of burned tents and destroyed flags.

Her grip tightened on her wand while she made her way through the remaining tents. But out of nowhere someone suddenly grabbed her arm, jumping in surprise the brunette girl let out a scream.

She soun around to her attacker but her heartbeat immediately slowed down when she realized that it was no other than Harry.

She frowned at him, "What-" But Harry interrupted her, by placing a finger over his mouth.

The brunette stopped in the middle of her scentece, while she suddenly spotted someone standing in the distance.

It was a man, who was looking exactly their way, his wand in his hand. Annabeth started panting heavily when he suddenly started to approach them.

Harry quickly dragged his sister along with him. Hiding behind a half burned down tend, they could hear someone shouting their names.

"Where are you?"

"Harry?"

"Annabeth?"

Annabeth squinted her eyes at the dark figure, who was now stopping in the middle of the burned down tends.

Suddenly Ron's voice came from besides them, making their heads snapp towards their friend. "We've been looking for you for ages! Thought we lost you mate!"

Annabeth immediately turned back to the figure, but the man was already long gone.

Her gaze then suddenly wandered up towards the full moon, where a colossal skull with a serpent protruding from it's mouth like a tongue, marked the night sky. It seemed like it consistent out of greenish smoke.

"What is that!?"

Suddenly Harry began grunting, while he held his forehead in pain.

And after that everything happened quickly. A couple of Aurors suddenly appeared out of nowhere around them.

"Stupefy!"

The four friends ducked immediately under the spells and Arthur came to their help in a hurry. "Stop! That's my son!"

"Ron! Harry, Annabeth! Hermione, are you all right?", the wizard questioned them, worry in his voice.

"We came back for Harry and Annabeth", Ron stated, his eyes widened in fear.

"Which of you conjured it!?", a man with a black hat, shouted at them loudly, his wand pointed at the teenagers.

Arthur's eyes widened in shock, "Crouch, you can't possibly-"

The man ignored him, while he still looked at the teenagers, "Do not lie! You've been discovered at the scene of the crime!"

Harry and Annabeth were completely confused, "Crime?"

Arthur still wanted to calm the man down, "Barty! They're just kids!"

"What crime?", Harry questioned the again. Hermione was the one to explain it, "It's the Dark Mark, Harry. It's his mark."

Harry gazed up towards the night sky, "What, Voldemort? Those people tonigh, in the masks, they're his too, aren't they? His followers?"

"Yeah. Death Eaters."

Crouch suddenly let his wand fall, "Follow me!" Annabeth gluped heavily before she spoke up quickly, "Wait! There was a man, before!"

The Aurors turned to look at her once more. The girl pointed at the spot were she had seen him. "There."

Crouch didn't look at her again, before he exclaimed, "All of you, this way!"

"A man, Annabeth?", Arthur seemed curious while he peered down at the brunette girl. "Who?"

The Potter girl shrugged with her shoulders, as she felt the coldness creeping in on her. "I don't know. I couldn't see his face."
