Seiyuu Academy 1's Studio.

It's over.

Everyone feels as if they entered that studio for the first time just yesterday, some with their friends and co-workers, others on their own; and yet here they are, the final lineup announced in an excruciatingly long episode as expected by a survival show.

Kyuhyung looks back, his friends' smiles confusing him as he slowly walks his way towards the first place seat: they look genuine, sure, but the increasing physical distance distorts their faces into pained grimaces - or maybe they finally felt comfortable enough to openly express their disappointment, who knows.

With each step he takes, he grows more apprehensive.

His feet dig deeper and deeper into the mud of his insecurities, struggling on a path he'd normally walk on with ease, and he can't help but wonder if this time it's going to last longer, if he deserves to be there in the first place, and if he's truly meant to lead this group.

It takes a few more steps for his doubts to dissipate, at least for now, as Huijun wraps his arms tight around him and cries out of joy for what seems to be the first time in his life.

　 ━ 　 I knew you could do it!

The words come from Alice, his fellow Class Two representative, as she walks down with the others following her to meet him halfway. As everyone - yes, even Junsoo - joins in the hug, Kyuhyung is sure everything will be fine.

And even if it won't be, this time he'll have the power to change things.

niveau seuil ❪ Korean: 니보 새일 ❫ is a 12-member co-ed project group formed by the first installment of Mnet's survival show Seiyuu Academy. The group consists of Kyuhyung, Huijun, Oscar, Junsoo, Hannah, Sieun, Juno, Yuting, Taeyang, Alice, Yeeun and Mingyu, and it debuted on October 1, 2023 with the studio album On The Borderline and the homonymous animated movie.

The group operates as both an idol unit and an ensemble of voice actors - or seiyuus ❪ Japanese: 声優 ❫ - and promotes equally in South Korea and Japan, as they're co-managed by SM Entertainment, avex ❪ for idol activities in South Korea and Japan respectively ❫ and 81 Produce ❪ management for voice acting activities ❫. They will promote for 2.5 years with an exclusive contract, after which they'll be allowed to continue activities with an additional non-exclusive contract under their own terms if they manage to get at least 5 music show wins before the end of the first contract.

ㅤ ▎ ❶ ﹕ Initial notes.

For those of you who are new here, these twelve are part of the Seiyuu Academy universe and the very first group to come out of the show. With Seiyuu Academy 2 starting I have admittedly neglected them a lot... But I'm ready to finally work on them a bit more actively! Please look forward to them, there's lots of content I look forward to publish this year.

ㅤ ▎ ❷ ﹕ Warnings and Other Disclaimers.

Useless disclaimer, but just in case: this is a work of fiction not meant to accurately depict the idol industry, nor do I associate the characters' personalities and personal lives with their faceclaims; although I strive to be as realistic as possible, I also want to have fun and for this reason I might be implementing elements that wouldn't make sense in real life.

I own nothing but the story and one character, Huijun, with the others being all creations of the original appliers in Seiyuu Academy 1 who consented to me using their characters to my own liking within the limits of their original plans. For details regarding anything else, check the next section.

ㅤ ▎ ❸ ﹕ Credits.

The layout of this book was created by me without any specific inspiration in mind, though if you consider it similar to yours or anyone else's I'd appreciate for you to point it out politely so we can sort things out! I don't allow replicas of my layout, but you can ask to reprise smaller elements if you wish - with credits, that is.

The graphics are all self-made on Paint.net and ezgif.com, no pre-made filters or PSDs applied to the pictures as I prefer to manage color settings manually instead. The cast graphic specifically takes huge inspiration from Yann Tomita's fictional girl group The Doopees' full album cover, Doopee Time - a fun listen I recommend to all those in search of something more experimental!

Any line distribution video featured in the book is made by the lovely Rune: it goes without saying you shouldn't take them and use them for your own works under any condition, as they're custom-made for me.

Any other illustration is realized by either Towa or other artists I will credit separately in case; Merin also contributes with some graphics as well as quality checking, so props to them too!
