SETTLING DIDN'T TAKE KIRRA TOO LONG, as everything had basically been prepped for her since before she'd arrived. Sitting down onto her bed, she drinks in the sight of her new room. Everything is just as she'd like it, seeing that her cousin, Michelle, knows her all too well. She'd just got off the phone with her dad who still couldn't believe his only daughter was so far away from him.

"Ngaaw, Keers. My house is always there for you if you want to come home." she remembers him saying, stark blue eyes staring at hers with a tinge of red. "I know, dad." Kirra choked out, refusing to meet his gaze because if she did she would fly back right at that moment. The father and daughter bid their farewells hesitantly, neither of them wanting to hang up but having to because of their time differences. When they finally had, she was left alone with her thoughts. The weekend came faster than she expected and before she knew it, she had already spent one whole week in the beautiful Gold Coast.

Kieran invited her and Michelle to his home game tonight against the Canberra Raiders to fill the gaps in their spacey schedules, claiming it was going to be a big clash before using all this technical rugby hoohaa that Kirra couldn't help but laugh at. The two girl cousins looked at each other before eventually agreeing, having nothing else to do anyways. "What's so good about watching a bunch of brutes assault each other?" Michelle questioned as she popped a succulent grape into her mouth, eyebrows slightly furrowed. "Micky, stop being an egg." is all Kieran says before taking the whole packet of grapes and making his way to the room. "Wear something light tonight, Keers. It's pretty warm outside." her oldest cousin insisted with a small smile before closing his room door, leaving the two girls in the front.

Kirra wasn't planning on wearing anything heavy anyways, this weather had her basically melting in her spaghetti strap singlet and sleeping shorts. Michelle made her way to the cupboard, grabbing a packet of chips before sitting down on the stools next to Kirra with a slight smirk on her lips. "You're not dating anyone, aye?" the question causes her to cough uncomfortably, shifting slightly in her seat. "N-No, why do you ask?" the nervous stutter makes the blonde laugh, already picking up on how inexperienced her younger cousin is. "Oh, Kiki you're so funny sometimes." the 25 year old laughed out, going so far as to even snort. "It's not even that funny." Kirra insists, frowning before breaking out into a smile. "Nah but for real though, why did you ask?"

Picking another chip out of the packet before allowing the crunch to break the silence, Michelle only smiles mischievously. "Because, K's got heaps of fine ass players in his team." K was their little nickname for Kieran and the team she was referring to was none other than the Gold Coast Titans. Kirra only shrugs before plucking herself a chip "I'm not really into brainless athletes." she said with a sigh, a momentary nod to her adolescent past she spent with an average college boy who claimed he was gonna make it big one day in the Super Rugby world, spoiler! He did not. "They're not brainless, it's just that a little bit of their brains don't work!" Michelle tried her best to convince but the brunette only shook her head, standing from her seat. "I'm gonna go have a rest before we go. Wake me up when it's like 3:30, mkay?" is all Kirra replies with before walking away and leaving her older cousin behind.

The stadium was jam packed with supporters who wore the sky blue and gold with pride, some people even painting their whole faces with the team's colour. "What the heck." Kirra breathes out in awe, a smile tickling the edges of her mouth. She'd never been to a rugby game with such passionate fans before, although she'd always be a true Warriors fan at heart (like everybody in New Zealand). Michelle and Karina lead her towards their front row seats especially reserved for the families of the team, smiling happily at each other when they spot Kieran stretching on the field. "So, how long does the game usually last for?" Kirra asks Michelle as her eyes rake over the field, scanning the players doing outlandish exercises for whatever reasons.

"80 minutes but don't worry, the game goes by fast. If there's a tie and it's nearing the game's finish then the game can go a little bit overtime to try and beat each other." Michelle's rambled explanation slowly begins to fade out as Kirra's dark brown eyes land on a player wearing the training tees, long mullet flicking up at the ends and light coloured eyes searching the stadium. To put it simply, the man was beautiful. Dare she even say, pretty. "What're you looking at?" Micky asks as she tries to follow her cousins blank stare, frowning when she can't.

"Who is that?"

wait so i'm thinking of doing fairly
short chapters just to keep the plot
a little bit more interesting which means
there may be some illegal cliff hangers
in the future so for future reference,
sorry 🙏🏻
