CHAPTER ELEVEN
xi.ONE WORLD ONE PEOPLE

“𝐈'𝐌 𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄”, 𝐒𝐀𝐌 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐉𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄.

“What's the plan?”, Bucky asked as he looked over his shoulder.

“Karli is gonna be close. Keep your eyes open”, Sam instructed them through the earbuts. “Well, it could be anyboady”, the man next to Juliet sighed as they both contiuned their way over to the agents. 

They walked past them as Bucky nodded at the men, “Sargent Barnes”, they greeted him friendly as they let them both through.

“And by the way, I called in some backup.”

Juliet looked at Bucky questiongly but as she opened her mouth to say something she was interrupted by a manly voice, “Excuse me, sir, miss. Are you supposed to be here?”

Bucky and Juliet both turned around and looked at the man who had just addressed them. Suddenly the man tapped against the side of his head making a blue shimmer flush over his face befor he grabbed onto some invisible mask and yanked it from his head.

After that, Sharon stood infront of them, “It's me”, she quietly excalimed as she looked at the two. Juliet eyed her surprised, “Yes, I can see that. What the hell are you doing here?”

Sharon grabbed them both by one arm and dragged them with her, “Relax, no one is looking for me.”

“Do I hear Sharon?”, Sam asked them as they walked towards the building. “Unfortnately”, Juliet muttered as she rasied an eyebrow and stopped next to the other two.

“Hey Sam, thought I get the band back together”, the woman joked as she looked at Juliet.

“Thank you. You're risking a lot coming here”, Sam thanked their old friend. “I hear pardons aren't all they cracked up to be”, the woman said as she looked at Bucky who looked back at her. “Depends on the therapist.”

“They'll gonna move on the building soon. Be ready”, Sam told the three as he flew further towards the building. 

“Juliet, Sharon, Bucky what's going on on your end?”, Sam asked them after a long moment. “Nothing. All quiet”, Bucky answered him as he, Sharon and Juliet walked next to each other. 

"No one's moving towards the building", Sharon's voice could be heard. 

"Karli's not coming in. She is forcing everybody out", Sam stated. After that they heard Sam talking to some agents and then suddenly they heard fighting noises as Sam grunted, “You guys are gonna have to do something!”

Juliet walked infront of Bucky through the metal detector.

“Don't let them out of the building!”

Bucky walked through the metal detector making the alarm go off. They stopped and all looked at each other, “Oops”, Sharon joked as she looked at them serious.

“Here's one of them. Juliet and I get the evac”, Bucky told the blond woman as he quickly walked away. Juliet turned towards Sharon, “Are you gonna be okay?”

Sharon moded at her before she haded into another direction. Juliet quickly followed after Bucky who was already up the stairs.

A woman approched him a phone in her hand as Juliet finally caught up to him. “Mr. Barnes, it's Karli.” Bucky took the phone out of her hand and answered the call, “Karli?”

Juliet immediately eavesdroped on the conversation as she walked next to the brunette man.

“Aren't you tired of fighting for the wrong side, Mr. Barnes?”

Bucky scoffed as he walked down the stairs, “I've done this before, kid. I know how it ends.”

“It dosen't matter if I don't survive this. I'm fighting for something bigger than myself. With all the body's you collected, have you been able to say the same?”, the girl asked Bucky with her thick accent.

Bucky and Juliet exchanged a look, “You don't think I ever fought for something bigger than myself? That's all I ever tried to do. And I failed twice.”

“You think your cause justifies all this death, but in the end, the nightmares won't go away. You're gonna remember all the ones you killed”, Bucky told her as he looked around searching for her.

“Trust me”, he stopped for a second. “Don't do this. Don't go down this path.”

“If that's how you feel, you should sit this one out”, the young girl answered him sounding impatient.

“Come on, you know I ain't gonna do that”, Bucky sighed as he continued to look around.

“I'm glad you took my call. You've been a big help”, Karli said before she quickly needed the call.

Juliet looked at the man with wide eyes as she leaned her head to the side. Bucky sighed as he looked at her, “Damn it!”

And with that the two quickly made  their way down to the parking garage, “Do you know where they are going?”, Juliet questioned him as they both sat onto their motorcycle's.

“I have an Idea. Follow me”, he instructed her as he started the engine.

“Seriously, guys. You had one job”, Sharon's voice told them annoyed trough the earbuds.

“You worry about your guy”, Bucky told her as they drove out of the parking garage. Juliet could hear Sharon in her ear as she quickly drove through the city after Bucky.

“You better speed things up Sam. The chopper's is about to take off.”

“Bucky! Juliet!”, Sam shouted as he still fought against Batroc.

The two had just lightly caught up to the trucks and followed after them. “We don't fly man. That's your thing”, Bucky told him as they both let their engine's revved.

They than took a abbreviation to cut off their escape route, but as they arrived there, they saw that the trucks had already stopped and that Karli and her three followers had knocked  out the guards.

They both speeded up and jumped of their motorcycle's as they reached the trucks. Bucky flew directly at one of the Flag Smashers as Juliet landed elegant on her feet.

She turned around and quickly kicked one of them into the face before she kicked her into the stomach making the woman stumble back.

Juliet then punched her into the stomach and against her knee. The woman grunted in pain but suddenly one of the trucks was set on fire. Juliet was distracted for a moment and the woman took the chance and punched her into the face sending the brunette to the ground.

Juliet quickly kicked her legs away before she got up and run to the truck at the same time Bucky did.

The people were screaming and hammered against the door as Bucky tried to break the door. He pulled and pulled but nothing worked, he then started to punch against the mechanic divise that blocked the door but he couldn't do it on his own.

“Step aside”, was all Juliet said before she grabbed onto the door as well and brought off all her power as she started to pull with him.

They both let out a scream as they yanked one last time, breaking the doors open. The people started to quickly climb out of the Truck and run away.

“Go. Go!”, the two instructed them as they waved the people off. One man stopped and shook Bucky's Hand, “Thank you for saving us.”

Bucky looked at him and at Juliet smiling surprised, the man than run away as Juliet still smiled at Bucky who now talked to himself. “You're Welcome.”

They then turned towards the Flag Smashers again who we're preoccupied with beating up Walker who had suddenly engaged into the fight.

The two exchanged a look as Juliet nodded at him. Bucky punched the man off of Walker and started to fight him. Juliet quickly approched the others as she grabbed one of them by the back of her shirt and threw her against a stone pillar.

The woman then wanted to kick the other one but Karli suddenly grabbed  her bag and threw her against Bucky which sent them both over the edge of the Metal framework.

The two flew through the air and landed on their feet as they both looked up to where they had just fought Karli.

But suddenly one of the Flag Smashers jumped after them and tried to hit Bucky with a big metal bar. Bucky blocked the attack and punched the man into his face which made him fall to the ground.

Their attention was drawn back to the edge off the construction site as the other truck broke though a barrier and now dangled over the edge dangerously.

The natal bars cracked as the Truck slipped more and more down. Juliet's eyes widened as she looked back at Bucky.

“I can try to catch it. But I'm not sure about this. I never did it before”, she told him as she looked back up where the truck slipped further forward. “That's insane!”, Bucky told her as Juliet made herself ready but suddenly the truck was slowly pulled back.

Juliet furrowed her eyebrows as a Captain America shield fell infront of her feet, but it wasn't Sam's.

Suddenly Karli, Walker and two others fell down and landed infront of Bucky and Juliet as the truck continued slipping away again.

The truck was about to fall and Juliet knew it was now or never, but suddenly Sam flew infront of the Truck and pushed it back onto the framework.

Bucky and Juliet who stood next to Walker could hear the people cheering and shouting as Sam who stood infront of them.

Juliet attention was drawn towards Karli as the girl threw a metal pipe at her, Juliet wasn't quick enough and she could already see the pipe impale her but Bucky quickly cought it in the air and gave the young girl a dark look.

Sam threw his shield at the Flag Smashers making them all fall to the ground before he landed infront of Juliet and Bucky.

Karli pulled her mask off of her head and looked at Sam shocked, “You of all people bought into that bullshit?”

“I'm trying something different. Maybe you should do the same”, Sam told her calmly.

Their heads turned as a explosion went off in the distance, something that Juliet could really recognize landed at the floor infront off them and suddenly a gas surrounded them.

They could see anymore until Sam lead them out of the gas. “This way”, he told them as they all quickly followed after Sam.

The four jogged next to each other as Bucky spoke up, “Hey, Sharon. We're underground. We entered the tunnel on William Heading south.”

“Looks like they split up. Here”, Sam told them as they all stopped for a moment. Walker immediately jogged down the other tunnel as Sam looked a bit annoyed. “I got it”, Bucky assured him before he followed after the blond man.

Juliet and Sam continued their way further into the main tunnel but after a while they heard two loud gunshots. The two exchanged a quick look as they both run towards the gunshots.

When they arrived they saw Karli standing over Sharon who had a wound in her stomach and Batroc who laid dead besides her.

Karli looked at the two, “Stay back”, she wanrned them, her gun still aimed at Sharon who grunted in pain.

“So, what's next, huh? You kill them this time, then, what, a hundred?”, Sam asked her as he looked at Sharon who still laid at the ground.

“Where does it end?”, there was a long silence before he spoke up again, “Please, let me help you”, Sam begged the young girl.

“Don't try and manipulate me”, the young girl shook her head at him as she still pointed her gun at Sharon angryly.

“Karli, don't”, Juliet shouted at her, but Sam had already tackled the girl to the ground. Karli grabbed a concrete block and threw it at Sam but he blocked it with his shield as he grunted in exertion.

The young girl then tried to swing at him and then at Juliet who just avoided her punch.

“We're not going to fight you!”, Sam shouted at her as he avoided another attack from the young redhead. Karli punched against Sam's shield as he pushed it against her fist.

“Karli—”

But the girl didn't let him finish because she tried to punch him again making Sam avoid her repeatedly. Juliet wanted to engage but Sam looked at her, “Don't, Jules!”

The brunette took a step back and  quickly approched Sharon that still laid on the floor, “You're all right?”

“No, not really”, the blond woman answered her as Juliet gave her an apologizing look. Suddenly there was a loud sound and Karli screamed, “Stay down”, which drew Juliet's attention back to her.

But Sam stood up again breathing heavily, “No.”

She punched the shield multiple times as she screamed in anger, “Fight back! Fight back!”

But Sam just grabbed the girl and flew with her against the next stone pillar, “Stop it!” The two crashed against the celling but as they touched the floor again they immediately continued fighting.

Karli screamed at him again, that he shouted fight back as she continued to punch against the shield making Sam fall over. His shield flew away and landed on the floor as Sam laid on the ground.

Karli and Sam quickly stood up again but Karli pointed her gun at him. Juliet was ready to block the bullet but first she wanted to try and talk the girl out off it.

“Karli, you don't wanna do this. As you said, Sam dosen't matter to your plan”, she spoke up as she slowly approprached the girl. Karli looked at her unsure but suddenly a gun was fired and it wasn't Karli's, it was Sharon's.

Karli fell to the ground making Sam grabbed her before he brought her up into his arms. Sam looked at the young girl and  Karli looked up at him as she quietly sobbed, “I'm sorry.”

Her eyes slowly fluttered shut and her hand fell to the side, as well as her head. Juliet had clapped a hand over her mouth before she looked at Sharon in shock.

“She was a kid! She wasn't going to shoot him!”, Juliet shouted at the woman who leaned against a pillar sighing in relief.

Juliet shook her head before she quickly spun around to Sam, the dark skinned man still looked down at the young ginger haired girl.

Juliet approached him slowly before she softly placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeez. “Sam, come on. Let's get her out of here.”
