"You have to admit, he dances well." Namjoon said as he opened the door for Yoongi.
Yoongi took a breath in, appreciating the smell of freshly brewed coffee. "They all do."
It was Saturday. Usually, the four friends meet up at this coffee shop but today, it was only the three eldest.
"I thought Hoseok was the cutest." Seokjin smirked. "Out of them three. Out of all of us, I'm not only the cutest, I'm the hottest."
Namjoon pouted. "Out of all four of us, who's the cutest?"
Seokjin rolled his eyes as he followed Yoongi to wait in line. "Me, duh."
"Well yeah, but..." Namjoon chuckled nervously. "Out of Taehyung, Yoongi hyung, and me."
"Taehyung." Seokjin said quickly.
Namjoon huffed.
"Iced Coffee." Yoongi said to the cashier.
"Name?"
"Suga." Yoongi smirked. "Like sugar, but no R."
"Chai Spice Latte. Name is Jin." Seokjin added to the order.
Namjoon pulled out his wallet as it was his turn to pay. "Caramel Latte. For RM."
They sat down and waited for their orders, Yoongi already pulling a book out from his bag.
"Come on, again with the book?" Namjoon sighed.
Yoongi looked up from his book at Namjoon. "Reading keeps intellectual minds up and running."
"But why can't you just pull a conversation up? Talk, socialize." Namjoon was sick of having Yoongi ignore the other three for the past two months whenever they hung out.
Yoongi shot him a glare as he spoke informally.
"You weren't always this antisocial." Seokjin sighed.
"Not to us at least." Namjoon crossed his arms.
"You also weren't a complete asshole to strangers." The older scolded.
"Order for Suga, Jin, and RM."
Yoongi was about to stand and get their order but Namjoon was quick on his feet first. "Add two three sugars on Yoongi hyung's and two on your's hyung?"
Seokjin nodded and waited for the younger to walk away, turning to Yoongi. "We've been your friends for long, haven't we been?"
Yoongi nodded as he flipped the page of his book.
"So why have you grown this distant?"
Yoongi shrugged.
"Is it because of what happened with Suran?"
Yoongi tensed at the name he wish he wouldn't hear ever again. "Suran can go fuck herself. She has nothing to do with my life anymore."
"I'll take that as a yes." Seokjin placed his hand Yoongi's hand across the table. "Let go of the past Yoongi. You can't keep holding onto her."
Yoongi swatted Seokjin's hand away, a little too harsh. "I'm not holding onto anything. If anything, I'm letting go of everything."
"And everyone as well." Seokjin sighed as Namjoon came back with their order. "We didn't do you wrong. She and her friends did. So why take it out on us?"
Yoongi clenched his jaw, holding his anger in. He hated it how Seokjin always brought up the past. Taehyung kept quiet, Namjoon only ever hinted at it, why couldn't he just shut his mouth?
"You are shutting new people out as well." Seokjin added. "Treating people as if they all are out for you. Which they aren't."
"People are the same." Yoongi put his book back in his bag, knowing he'd be leaving very soon.
"We aren't Suran." Seokjin drank from his coffee quickly. "No one you've met after her has done anything remotely close to what she did."
"You're mean even to nice people like Jimin."
"Met the dumbass three days ago and now he's someone I'm suppose to treat nicely?" Yoongi scoffed. "You both are seriously something. Trying to control my social life is something Suran did ya know?"
"We aren't trying to control it hyung—"
"We are trying to make you reali—"
Yoongi grabbed his bag and coffee, shooting a fake smile to Namjoon. "Thanks for the coffee. Can't hang, I have to fix my social life."
"Min Yoongi." Seokjin stood up but the boy was long gone out of the coffee shop.
Jimin sighed as he stared at the inside of his new home. Everything was unpacked and set.
He sighed and ran his hand through his hair, a habit that his two friends always made fun of. He had managed to unpack all of his belongings, set up all of his furniture, and decorate his whole house with a few fixing here and there, all by himself (except for the time Hoseok came to help fix the door to his bathroom).
To say the least, Jimin was pleased and proud with himself.
As he walked to his kitchen, he almost ripped over a box in the way.
"Ah..." The blond grabbed the box, recognizing it as Yoongi's tool box. He decided he'd go over now.
As he walked out of his house, Yoongi had just pulled up on his driveway. He smiled to himself, walking out of his porch. But as he saw Yoongi get out of his car, slam the door behind him, throw the coffee he had in hand in the trash, then slam the door of his house shut, Jimin decided that he maybe would just annoy the older in this very moment.
Just in cue to him closing the door behind him, his back pocket began ringing.
He took out hid phone and answered it. "Hello?"
"You will not believe who we just saw at the coffee shop." Jungkook was too excited to stay still as he spoke.
"You drink coffee? That's bad for you Jungkookie." Jimin set the tool box down on the floor.
"Yah." Hoseok spoke as the call was on speaker. "When you have to practice nonstop for a performance, that's what you drink."
"Anyways!" Jungkook cut in. "We saw your neighbor at the coffee shop!"
"Yoongi hyung?" Jimin sat down on his couch.
"Yup. He didn't look too good." Hoseok pointed out. "Two of his friends seemed to be scolding about something when he stormed out of the shop."
"Well now I know why he was slamming doors." Jimin sighed.
"Jiminie," Hoseok took a breath in. "I know you are one to become friends with everyone but I don't think this guy is worth trying."
Jungkook nodded even though Jimin couldn't see him. "He seems to be an ass to his own friends."
Jimin frowned. "I guess... I'll talk to you later guys."
"Bye hyung."
"Sayonara Jiminie."
Jimin hung up and dropped his phone to his side. He'd still need to return the tool box.
~
The blond took a breath in as he stepped out of his porch once again. The night sky had just set itself above the silent streets of their neighborhood.
He carried the tool box with one of his hands as he walked towards Yoongi's house. He had mentally prepared himself for any mean comment the older had to say. Jimin knew he mostly annoyed Yoongi, so he planned on being quick with his visit. He also didn't want Yoongi insulting him or being rude for too long.
As Jimin arrived Yoongi's porch, he could hear something from inside, a melody.
A piano could be heard softly from inside the house. Jimin didn't remember seeing a piano in Yoongi's house when he visited the inside once before. Nevertheless, it sounded beautiful. Jimin could hear how the keys of the piano were caressed oh so softly, how each note waited for the other to end to make a melody.
It was on going, making Jimin not ring the doorbell. If Yoongi was really playing the piano, he'd be interrupting him, as well as annoying him.
The music came to a stop though, and Jimin quickly ringed the doorbell.
The door opened revealing non other than Yoongi. "Hi."
Jimin smiled. "Hi. I brought your tool box back." He lifted the tool box up towards Yoongi.
Yoongi grabbed it, throwing a glance at Jimin's house. "Are you already done setting your house up?"
Jimin nodded. "Yup. Took me only three days. All me."
Yoongi nodded. "Well if you need it again, you can ask for it."
Jimin slightly bowed. "Thank you."
"Did you by any chance, buy the house?"
Jimin nodded. "Mmhmm. My very own house."
Yoongi looked at the house then at Jimin. "Aren't you too young to have bought this all to yourself?"
Jimin turned and looked at his house then back at Yoongi, looking up at his house. "Aren't you as well?"
Yoongi gave him a small smile. "This is my parent's house..."
"Ah." Jimin bounced on the balls of his feet. "Were you playing the piano?"
Yoongi nodded.
"You sound pretty good."
"Thanks." Yoongi stared at the tip of his shoes.
"Well," Jimin took a step back, off of Yoongi's porch. "I'll leave you be."
"Oh wait." Yoongi went in, leaving Jimin waiting. He quickly came back, holding Jimin's bowl.
"Oh thanks! I had forgotten you still had this!" Jimin smiled as he grabbed the bowl.
"I uh," Yoongi grabbed the door knob of his door as he stared at it. "I really like sushi so I'm always eating from restaurants I haven't been to and, well yours has been one of the best I've tried."
Jimin blushed. "Thank you."
Yoongi nodded. "Well thanks. I'll see you around."
Jimin nodded. "See ya hyung."
Jimin walked off to his house, a little skip to his walk. Yoongi wasn't mean nor did he insult him. He didn't annoy him and he ended up liking his sushi.
Yoongi watched Jimin walk back to his house and close the door behind him. He closed his own door and sighed.
Being nice... felt nice.
