The groan that slipped out of Yoongi was obnoxiously loud and delivered the message of how annoyed he was at Namjoon right now.
"Hyung stop complaining. You haven't been at a party in so long, you need to look good." Namjoon sighed as he kept picking shirts out of Yoongi's closet.
Taehyung sat at the edge of Yoongi's bed and nodded his head at a dress shirt Namjoon held up. "That blue one."
Yoongi pouted. "I don't like wearing light colors..."
"Then why do you own this shirt, huh?" Namjoon asked and when he didn't gain a response from the older, he smirked. "That's what I thought."
Taehyung was handed the shirt on a hanger and he placed it down next to him on the bed. "Look for black jeans."
Yoongi crossed his arms. "Why does it matter if I look presentable? They have seen me in my work clothes before, so what's up with having to dress up for a stupid house party?"
Namjoon pulled out three pairs of black jeans. "Dress to impress."
"Who am I trying to impress? Aren't they already our friends?"
Taehyung moved his head along his humming. "It's more like... this hanging out time will make them our official friends if it goes well."
Namjoon showed Taehyung one of the pairs. "These?"
Taehyung shook his head. "Too fancy. Do you have the ripped ones there?"
He looked through the pants he held and smiled as he pulled out the ripped pants.
"Ripped pants with a formal shirt?" Yoongi whined as he flopped down on his bed, facing up. "I question your fashion taste Tae."
Taehyung pouted. "It's short sleeved so it'll be fine. The shirt isn't fully formal. It's a casual formal so you could wear it with anything." He looked back down at the pants he held. "Get your terms right..."
With being an art nerd, came some benefits. Like knowing a lot of fashion trends and it's composition overall. Taehyung was the fashionista of the group. While he gave tips on where to wear certain pieces of clothing, the eldest stayed more with what style of make up to use. The make up guru was Seokjin, no debate on that. He was also the one advising on what to do at parties so Yoongi would later go on to ask him what to do.
Namjoon... well he was a participant, mostly hyping up the party. Whilst his older grumpy friend, wasn't much of a partier. He mostly hid away in a corner drinking his fear of interaction away.
"Change." Taehyung handed the pale boy his clothes. "We'll be styling our hair in your bathroom."
"We are?" Namjoon raised his eyebrows, thinking his hair was already fine.
Taehyung tsk'd at the boy and pushed him out of Yoongi's room.
He stared down at the clothes Taehyung has picked out and sighed as he took off his own shirt and began changing.
Taehyung closed the door of the bathroom, making Namjoon frown. "Yah, why are you closing the door?"
"I have to tell you something." The younger grabbed the bottle of gel from Yoongi's cabinet and turned to the mirror. "I think you should push a little further with Jin hyung."
Namjoon choked. "W-What?"
"Come on," The boy ran his hand through his hair, pulling it back and forth, deciding how to style it. "You didn't see how he looked at Hoseok hyung the other day?"
Namjoon shook his head. "No... How did he look at him?"
Taehyung sighed as he fluffed his hair, parting it slightly in the middle. "Looks to me like you got some competition."
Namjoon pouted. "It's not like I got a chance anyways. I never did."
"You did. You still do." He pulled out a bandana from his back pocket and placed it on his head, his bangs on top of them. "He never said he didn't like you. He said he wasn't sure of what he wanted."
"I'm sure he doesn't want me."
Taehyung turned to him. "But you don't know that for sure. So put some effort on your own love life instead of Yoongi's."
"I'm just looking out for him..." Namjoon huffed.
"And that's fine," He placed his hand on the doorknob, "but you're forgetting about your own love life..." He hummed to himself, thinking if he should say something else.
"Alright." Namjoon nodded. "I'll try at least."
Just as the two boys came out of the bathroom, Seokjin burst through the front door, heavily breathing as he held a box full of snacks, he then spit out a bobby pin from his mouth. "I've been screaming at the door... FOR THE PAST FIVE MINUTES!"
Namjoon smiled at the older. "Bet that's how long you last."
For as long as the four boys had been friends, Namjoon always cared for his eldest hyung in a deeper way. He didn't know what it was. His smile? His weird laugh? His lame dad jokes? His old man like talking? It was only a few months ago that he finally fessed up to Seokjin. But the older, although being very flattered and happy of the matter, didn't necessarily feel the same way. He didn't know to say the least. The boy had grown up in a very strict house hold, against anything controversial, including a homosexual relationship. He wasn't against the idea of course, but he never truly knew how he felt about his own sexuality. He didn't want to drag Namjoon into something that was mostly filled with insecurities, so he rejected the boy. For the time being, he was at 'Unknown' and Namjoon respected that. But it killed him inside to see or hear of the older boy liking anyone else.
"Did he just pick that lock with a bobby pin on his mouth?" Jungkook asked with wide eyes as he stared across the street through Jimin's blinds.
"Suddenly I'm turned on." Hoseok said, causing Jungkook to push him off the couch.
"You're icky."
Jimin rolled his eyes as he blended out his concealer. "Stop spying on Yoongi."
Hoseok groaned as he stood up, making his way to sit next to Jimin in the dining room. "Why are you on such a bad mood? We are going to his party, man!"
"My leg hurts like hell you dumbass..." Jimin clenched his jaw, pissed that they made him walk out of the car on his own.
"Well tough luck champ." Hoseok crossed his legs after sitting down. "You're own fault."
The blond huffed out and pouted his lips as he applied lip tint on them.
"Jimin hyung," Jungkook walked his way slowly towards Jimin. "Can you do my make up?"
Hoseok frowned at the youngest. "Since when do you wear make up?"
Jungkook shrugged. "We are going to a party, thought I'd try it..."
Jimin smiled at Jungkook. "Sure thing Kookie. It's cause of Taehyung right?"
Jungkook quickly became red. "What? No, of course not!"
Hoseok sighed. "Awe you're getting back into the scene?"
Jungkook quickly shook his head. "N-No! I don't want to be in a relationship. Not again... not for a while..."
Jimin sighed as he buffed out his face to make sure it was smooth. "Not everyone is a bad person Kookie."
Jungkook pulled out a chair from another side of the table and sat on it backwards in front of Jimin. "I know that. I'm just not ready."
Jimin pulled out his powder and concealer. Although he had done a full face on himself, counting bb cream, concealer, powder, highlight, eyeshadow, and lip tint, he was going for a more natural look on the younger. Jungkook never wore make up outside of work. Not that he didn't like it but he didn't know what the heck to do with any of the brushes and all the different powders.
Hoseok sighed as he watched Jimin do Jungkook's make up.
There was the feeling of jealousy again.
The two were always with each other. Although he shared an apartment with Jungkook, Hoseok never felt as close with him as he saw the two younger ones to be. It was mostly because of their age difference and how mature Hoseok actually was. That's why he always dreaded hanging out with them. He felt left out.
He stood up and grabbed his things. "I'll head there earlier."
Jimin looked up at Hoseok. "Tell them we'll be there in a bit."
The older nodded and walked out the door, and across the street. He took a breath in and knocked on the door.
The door opened and Seokjin smiled. "Hi! You're here early."
Hoseok scratched the back of his neck and chuckled nervously. "Is that alright? Jiminie and Jungkook are taking forever to get ready."
"Sure thing." Seokjin opened the door wider and let the boy in.
Hoseok looked around and from what Jimin had seen his first time in the house, it was very different. The table wasn't empty anymore as snacks and plates sat on top of it. Instead of the cinnamon smell in the house, it was another type of spicy smell that took over the house as Seokjin was cooking something spicy. There were little lights hanging from the window's curtain top.
"You like what you see~?" Seokjin asked, laughing afterwards.
"Who set this up?" Hoseok asked as he took off his jacket.
"I did of course!" He scoffed. "These baboons don't know what to do without me."
"Thanks." Namjoon crossed his arms as he and Taehyung had been sitting in front of the TV, playing video games.
"No problem." Seokjin shrugged.
"Welcome to the party." Taehyung said, too focused on the battle he was fighting right now.
"Come," Seokjin signaled for him to follow on the kitchen. "I need to know how good this is."
Hoseok followed behind Seokjin and stood in front of him as he raised a spoon filled with liquid in his hand. "What is it?"
"Spicy chicken stew. Ah~" The older boy raised the spoon even further, making Hoseok chuckle before he took the spoon into his mouth. "How is it?"
Hoseok smiled. "It's really good. This tastes like a mother's cooking. You sure you cooked?"
Seokjin pushed him playfully. "Of course I did."
Yoongi huffed staring in the mirror. He didn't like this shirt. Well he did, but he didn't like it right now. He wanted to cancel the party, but maybe his friends would be pretty mad. Or maybe they wouldn't let him. It already seemed as someone was there what was the use now?
"Yoongi hyung, Hoseok's here." Namjoon shouted from the living room.
Yoongi sat on the edge of his bed and took deep breaths in. Being around new people in his personal space was always a challenge. After some experiences, he had developed some sort of social phobia. He wasn't sure if he would even be able to go out the door right now. It would ruin the mood if he suddenly had a panic attack, so he really needed to calm himself down.
"Eh, he's probably still getting use to his outfit." Taehyung shrugged.
The doorbell rung as the door was knocked at the same time.
Taehyung stood up, hearing some bickering from the outside. He then opened the door. And although he planned on keeping it cool, saying hi, and welcome to the party, he only stared at Jungkook.
Why were his eyes darker than usual? Why did his skin look smoother? Why did his lips look redder and plumper than usual? How come he looked so boyfriend material with his red flannel sleeves rolled up and his black joggers?
"Hi TaeTae hyung!" Jungkook waved, a little embarrassed as it would be the first time he would see him with make up, and he had already tripped over the welcoming mat.
"Hi..." Taehyung opened the door wider for the two. "Party's inside."
"Well I sure hope it's not outside." Jimin laughed as he walked inside the house.
"Hi guys!" Namjoon put down his controller. "Welcome to the least party of parties."
"Sounds like the best party." Hoseok said from the kitchen, as Seokjin was still making him taste everything he had made.
"Where's the host?" Jimin asked.
Just in cue, Yoongi closed the door of his room behind him and made his way to the party. "I'm here, I'm not dead yet."
Jimin's laugh made him look up. "I was just asking where you were."
Yoongi made sure to look at Jimin's appearance quickly, not to seem as of he was staring for too long at his outfit, which of course, was always way more different than his dance clothes. He wore a black long sleeve shirt with different red figures like hearts, flames, and lips, alongside red pants.
Yoongi quickly looked up and down Jungkook. "You both look fancy." He then looked over at Hoseok simple basketball shirt under a jean jacket with jeans. "You as well."
Hoseok smiled. "Thanks Yoongi!"
"Well?" Seokjin clasped his hands together. "I'm ready to eat my own creation so, let's get this party started!"
