"I hate you for bringing me here." Yoongi crossed his arms as they went inside the building. "I hate that agreed to this to Jimin's face."
Taehyung smiled. "You only say that because it's Jimin but you love watching performances as much as I do."
Yoongi sighed. "I prefer acting than dancing."
"And I prefer going to art museums, but they are our friends." Taehyung nudged the older. "Promise you won't be on your phone."
"Why would that make any difference from me actually paying attention?" The boy groaned.
"Performers look at their audience in hopes that they are enjoying the show so please show some respect."
Yoongi rolled his eyes as they reached the ticket booth. "You sound like a mom."
"Oh!" The girl behind the counter pointed at Yoongi's hair then at him directly. "Yoongi?"
Yoongi frowned. "Do I know you?"
The girl shook her head as she pulled out two tickets. "No, Jimin said to give a blue haired boy two tickets for him and his friend. Yoongi and... Taehyung?"
Taehyung nodded.
The girl passed the two tickets underneath the crystal and Yoongi took them. "Thanks."
"Thank Jimin. You must be special."
Yoongi frowned again. "Special?"
The girl nodded. "Last time Jimin got a friend free tickets was his parents two years ago. Even his brother had to pay when he came so you must be special."
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Or he is trying to give me a free show like a joke I had said before. Special my ass." He then walked away.
Taehyung bowed. "Excuse us." And followed after Yoongi. "Did you know he had a brother?"
Yoongi handed him one of the tickets and looked at his own as they walked. "Nope and didn't care to know."
"Oh wow! Second row tickets! Nice!" Taehyung bounced a little as they approached the theater entrance.
Yoongi gave the boy at the entrance his ticket and the boy stamped it, returning the ticket to Yoongi to do the same with Taehyung's.
"Sucks that we can't bring food in here." Yoongi groaned. "Then I'd be at least enjoying some of my time here."
"Don't be so pessimistic." Taehyung swung his arm around Yoongi's shoulders. "I'll treat you to dinner."
Yoongi smiled. "I'll try and enjoy the show then."
"Seafood stew?" Taehyung wiggled his eyebrows.
"Oh wow, the show hasn't started and I'm already having the time of my life."
The two laughed as they went to their seats and sat down.
"They're here." Hoseok said as he picked from behind the red curtain.
Jungkook then started hyperventilating.
"Oh for god's sake Kookie." Jimin slapped the boy's back. "It's nothing."
Jungkook got up and pointed at Jimin. "It's your fault for inviting him. Now I'm all nervous as if it's a competition."
Hoseok looked at Jungkook as he frowned. "But it is. Official judges are in the front row to see if we join county competitions."
Jungkook gripped on his hair. "Oh god I'm freaking out."
"Why did you tell him?!" Jimin slapped Hoseok's bear shoulder as he wore a black silk tank top for his solo performance.
Hoseok slapped him back, his arm being covered with a long sleeve white silk shirt. This performance was a silk kind of show. "Well he has to know so he doesn't slack off!"
"Jungkook please stop gripping your hair!" A hair stylist yelled. "You're making it messy."
"Get on position, we are starting in five!" A director called out.
Hoseok knelt in front of Jungkook who had sat down on a box. "Hey, what do I always say?"
"Don't stress..." He said as he controlled his breathing.
"Or you fail. What else do I say?"
"If you push yourself too hard..."
"The harder it gets to keep going." Hoseok stood up and ruffled Jungkook's hair. "You got this man. You're center for a reason."
Jungkook nodded and stood up, letting out a breath as hair stylist came to fix his hair.
Jimin peeked from behind the curtain.
He spotted Yoongi and Taehyung. Taehyung pointed down to something on Yoongi's phone and they both laughed.
"The show will start in five minutes."
At that, Yoongi turned off his phone and put it in his pocket, making Jimin smile and back away from the curtain, happy that he would actually look at his performance he had been working so hard for.
"You think he'll fall on his face?" Yoongi asked with a smirk on his face.
"No." Taehyung sighed. "They are all professionals."
Yoongi shrugged. "Could happen." He looked up as the lights slowly dimmed down. "Man, I seriously don't remember the last time I went on a performance like this."
"Months probably."
The two enjoyed art together. It was one thing that made them closer as friends. The weird love for life being captivated in paintings and photographs thag Taehyung had, and the weird love for books coming to life in theater that Yoongi had. Namjoon had a taste for art as well, but often got too lost in his thoughts while staring at paintings or watching actors express their lines with passion.
One would think Taehyung and Namjoon had switched personalities when it comes to art. Unlike Taehyung and Yoongi, Namjoon didn't see art as an escape, but more the opposite. It made him overthink a lot about his life and trapped him inside his own mind with very dark thought. Namjoon made a meaning of his own to every piece of art, while Taehyung would often amaze the interpreters as he got the meaning spot on. Taehyung often painted, took beautiful pictures of his friends and nature, or would even go to history art classes on his free time. He was an art nerd.
Yoongi, well he didn't care much for meanings and only certain pieces of art sent him on weird trances. He mostly cared about the beauty above it all.
"The show will start in one minute."
The doors to the theater were closed as everyone finished sitting down, a big spotlight making a sound as we was turned on and made to shine towards the stage. Everyone's chatter died down as orchestra on the balconies began playing, and a figure came out from behind the curtain. A handsome man with big lips and small eyes.
"Welcome everyone and thank you for coming to our performance." He bowed. "I'm Taemin, director of shows and wow, I'm tired of preparing over 900 shows."
The crowd chuckled.
"Actually, today's performance makes the 1,000th show in this theater."
The crowd applauded.
"Thank you, thank you. Now before I bore you with nonsense, I'd like to present to you... A Shadow's Mist." Taemin disappeared behind the curtain as the crowd applauded one las time.
The curtain was lifted, a beautiful made of fake purple trees, fake purple bushes, dark flowers, and a moving wall painted with dark colors as if it was some sort of spiral portal.
Hoseok stood alone on stage, staring down at his hands that were open as if holding something.
The orchestra started playing sinister music, as in cue, Hoseok lofted his hands slowly to his face. It was a slow performance at first, him moving around the stage with short steps as his arms moved with delicacy, but a lone violin started to speed up, the rest of the orchestra following, and Hoseok right on beat as his movements became harsh and fast.
It was captivating to say the least. Taehyung and Yoongi were watching like hawks. Noticing the changes in expression from Hoseok, as they changed from sweet to dark, noticing how every finger movement was followed by another violin, and noticing the subtlety to Hossok's transforming into something more evil.
The orchestra then came to sudden stop, Hoseok dropping to his knees right on cue. The music morphed into a smooth transition as other dancers came on stage, in front of Hoseok as he quickly exited the stage without the audience noticing.
But Taehyung wouldn't have noticed anyway since his favorite dance was right in the middle of the stage standing oh so gracefully.
Jungkook was obviously the main dancer, wearing a light grey, silk, long sleeve shirt while the dancers behind him wore black clothes.
The orchestra switched from their transition to soft tune.
Jungkook started to dance alone, the dancers behind him only swaying. It was slow, his steps only being slightly apart from each other. As the music slowed down the dancers around him came to a stop, the boy in center looking straight at the audience, his eyes meeting Taehyung.
He smiled and the music picked up a quick beat, Jungkook's footwork fast, sharp, and gracefully followed. The dancers behind weren't able to keep up with such hard routine back in practice, so they ended up dancing something entirely different.
Taehyung was completely in awe watching Jungkook. He was the only on stage in his perspective. The dancers were merely shadows behind Jungkook.
He had been so captivated, he didn't notice how the performance ended so quickly.
Now, Yoongi was slightly bored. The rest of the dances were graceful and beautiful, but it just wasn't as captivating and strong as Hoseok's and Jungkook's performance. Taehyung loved every single performance after seeing Jungkook's, so he was having fun.
Yoongi was about to pull out his phone when I short recognizable boy appeared dressed in all white.
The older gulped down as seeing Jimin's accessories. The boy had a choker made to look like a belt, one side of it being long extending down to his chest. What had Yoongi gaping the most was the red blindfold Jimin had over his eyes. What he didn't know was the fact that Jimin could actually see through it.
Jimin could see the look on Yoongi's face. His eyes were wide and his mouth gaped open. But it was when he started dancing that Yoongi's expression really changed.
Jimin's dance was extremely different from the whole show, yet still fitted the theme so perfectly. His dancers were acting cautious around him as Jimin tumbled around as if he was truly blind. The blond twisted and turned, his movements were slow and the way he'd stand up after some floor work, was sensual enough to leave the audience want more.
Specially Yoongi. The boy couldn't help but gulp down whatever it was he was feeling right now. Something in his stomach moved whenever Jimin spun or body rolled. He couldn't control it and didn't know what it was. It made it worse that it felt as if Jimin was looking at him through the blindfold whenever he faced the audience.
The music came to soft ending as two of Jimin's dancers took his blindfold off for him, his eyes blinking and getting used to the brighter scene before him.
Yoongi sat up straight, not wanting to show how... bothered he was at the moment.
Jimin purposely landed his eyes on Yoongi, smirking as part of his role, but as well as knowing that he astonished Yoongi.
The crow stood up, a standing ovation, clapping as the curtain fell right before Jimin.
Taehyung was first to speak. "Wah... Amazing."
Yoongi stood up. "Come on, I'm hungry."
Taehyung frowned. "You don't want to wait for them?"
Yoongi quickly shook his head and grabbed Taehyung's hand. "Let's go."
"Yoongi!"
Yoongi closed his eyes as they stopped on their tracks. He turned around as Taehyung did too, Hoseok was calling them from behind the curtain.
Taehyung pulled the older and dragged him up the stage, going behind the curtain. Hoseok shook his hand. "We are so happy you guys came!" He then shook Yoongi, who was still shaken by Jimin's performance.
"We really enjoyed it." Taehyung smiled, genuinely having enjoyed the whole show.
Jungkook came from backstage, a towel over his head, sweat dripping down from his nose. Performing always tired him down. But not as much as Jimin.
The bunny teethed boy smiled at Taehyung and then at Yoongi. "Hi." He breathed out.
"You were amazing!" Taehyung smiled. "It was so captivating and your feet! They were like, going so fast!"
Jungkook smiled. "I missed a few steps."
"Really? We couldn't tell." Taehyung nudged Yoongi.
Yoongi nodded. "Right."
"Jimin needs more ice packs!" A girl yelled out from backstage.
Yoongi looked for Jimin. "Is he okay?"
Hoseok crossed his arms. "Dumbass overworked himself like always and he strained his thigh pretty bad. Want to go see him?"
Yoongi was about to decline but Taehyung was quick to nod, "Yes. I want to tell him how good he did! He was honestly the best way to end the show."
Hoseok led the two backstage, Jungkook following behind Taehyung. "Jiminie, you got visitors."
Jimin wanted to chuckle and say that he sounded like a nurse in a hospital, but his strained thigh and the pain prevented him. "Don't really want any."
Yoongi wanted to bark back a smart answer but Jimin looked, not only in a lot of pain, but exhausted as well. "We just wanted to praise you."
Jimin looked up from his thigh as he held an ice pack against it. He smiled. "You guys liked it?"
Taehyung nodded. "Best ending! I can't believe you actually danced with a blindfold on."
Hoseok scoffed. "Hate to break it to you, but he only ever dances with an actual blindfold during nationals. That blindfold is see through."
Yoongi gulped down. Jimin was actually looking at him through the blindfold.
"Agh, you ruined it for them." A girl knelt by Jimin's leg as it sat on top of another chair in front of the one he sat on. She brought a hot pack to put underneath his thigh, where the damage was mostly done. "The element of surprise is what make ir spe—" He could finish his sentence as he threw his head back and hissed, not wanting to let out to shout of pain.
Hoseok rolled his eyes. "Why did you perform if you knew your thigh would give out?"
Jimin groaned. "I didn't okay? I hurt it while I was practicing but I didn't know it'd give out."
"You should have taken it slow then." Jungkook crossed his arms. "Jisoo will probably have to fill in for you next show."
Jimin quickly shook his head. "She can't dance as well as me. That's my dance and my dance only anyways. I'm fine." He extended his hand towards Yoongi. "Help me up."
The girl quickly swatted his hand. "You put pressure into that thigh, and we all will hear you scream in pain."
"Lisa please!" Jimin groaned even louder. "I'm fine. I'll show you!" He extended his hand out to Yoongi again.
Yoongi had a worried expression on his face as he looked between Hoseok and Jungkook, to Jimin, then Lisa. He genuinely wanted to help him but he knew he'd hurt himself. He grabbed onto Jimin's hand and stood next to him.
"See?" Jimin stood up, mostly putting his weight on his other leg, but straightening his other leg still hurt.
Yoongi placed his other hand around Jimin's waist. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Jimin nodded. "I'll be fine. It isn't as bad as it seems." Jimin couldn't but lean mostly into Yoongi but he forced a smile on his face. "Let's go to dinner."
Hoseok rolled his eyes, typical of Jimin to say he is okay when he is not. Jungkook sighed, knowing the boy was just trying to prove himself worthy of his position in the company.
Taehyung shrugged at Yoongi, who nodded towards him as he threw his keys at the younger. "Get the car parked over here so he doesn't have to walk much."
Taehyung nodded and walked off.
Yoongi sat Jimin back down, Lisa leaving the hot pack on the chair for Jimin to use. "You shouldn't push yourself over the edge."
Jimin sighed. "I'm fine. This is normal. I'm just weak."
Yoongi frowned, wanting to hit him for saying that. "Well that's just stupid thinking." Jimin looked up at him. "If you're weak then act like it. Someone weak can't push themselves that hard. Someone strong hurts themselves by trying too hard."
Jimin tilted his head in confusion. "Shouldn't it be the other way around?"
Yoongi just groaned. "Just stop over doing it. You did great but you could have done just fine without pushing yourself to the verge of pain."
Jimin looked down. Even Yoongi, who usually didn't care about anything, was scolding him. "I'm just trying my best."
"Trying your best and overdoing it is different Jimin." Yoongi placed his hand on Jimin's shoulder, the younger looking up at him. "Giving your 100% is better than giving it 120%. Trust me."
Jimin stared into Yoongi's eyes, the ones that had been watching him from the audience so intensely before. "Did I at least entertain you?"
Yoongi sighed and smiled pushing the younger. "Of course you did. I told you your dancing was captivating."
Jimin looked away, smiling a bit. "I'll try to not overdo it..."
Yoongi smiled and got up, extending his hand towards Jimin. "And I'll come to your shows and make sure you don't do so."
Jimin grabbed onto Yoongi's hand, the older pulling him close so he wouldn't fall. "We still have to trade books."
He chuckled. "There's other days for that. For now, let's eat. I'm hungry."
