As the sun rose after an eventful night, Bakugou waited seated on a log and watched the lake before him. The tones of the sky were brushed with pink and orange hues overpowering the fading darkness. Rays of light parted the dark grey clouds, ending the harsh storms that happened as he slept and recovered. It had been hours since he tasked Kirishima to fly off after he rudely awakened the dragon. Time to think was all Bakugou needed and to get used to his wounds, healing rapidly on his own.

For a time, he refused the idea of going home. After all these years alone, he never felt homesick. His independence kept him going while he lived inside his cave. Years of scaring people and animals away didn't teach him the meaning of being alone and what it can do to a person. That all changed when you stumbled into his boar trap. In a short amount of time, chatting and sharing meals and the cave awoken something within Bakugou. Then there's the time spent in Musutafu where you asked if returning home is an option for him after you departed for good.

Bakugou lets you sleep in, but when you had awoken, you were completely alone. He heard you. It began with a yawn, followed by a gasp, then the call of his name, and lastly, you shuffling around in the cave. The moment you peered out of the vine, your feet moved on their own. You ran in search of both Kirishima and Bakugou, crying out their names as loud as you can.

Your face is washed with shock, and happy tears fall from your eyes. Your gaze met Bakugou's cape, dancing in the wind as your trembling hands dropped his abandoned sword to the ground. Slowly stepping further out, the sun is coming over the mountains in the distance. It blinds you for a moment, your eyes trying to adapt from being isolated in the dark.

Shielding your eyes, you approached Bakugou, unsure if he was gonna turn around and face you or speak a single word. He didn't as you got closer. He kept staring out at the lake you pulled him out of. Stopping directly at his side, you looked over Bakugou, appearing perfectly fine. He showed no sign of pain, yet there was a hand against his chest. As you wallowed in his appearance, Bakugou refused to share eye contact until you kneeled in front of him. It's then you reached up and wrapped your arms around his neck for an embrace.

An action you felt was right. A longing that had your heart aching as you cared for the man. In those days, you realised how much being around Bakugou did a number on you. The ability to build a compatible bond. When you thought of letting go, a strong arm found itself on your lower back, keeping you pressed against him. He's so warm, You thought to yourself. The fluff of his cloak tickled your nose, and you would feel his other arm add more to the hug, growing tighter and calming. Blood rushed to your cheeks, and your heart danced wildly inside your chest.

On the other hand, Bakugou's world would appear grey. The only colour he could depict is a golden glow surrounding you, brightening up his world. The intoxicating smell of your scent filled his nostrils and the warmth of your skin rivalled the flame of a torch.

What felt like forever lasted minutes. You'd release each other only for more tears to be shed. "Bakugou—I'm so sorry,"

"I was afraid that I'd never get the chance to thank you for saving my life again—I waited and waited for you to wake up, trying my best to keep you alive. I didn't know how to react when Kirishima told me about your past, your father, and the scar on your back. I only worried about you if you'd live through your injuries." Your eyes trailed down to the edge of his bandages. "After this—after everything you've done for me, I owe you my life-"

You couldn't finish your sentence. Two calloused hands purchased your cheeks and squished them together. Finally, meeting your eyes, he speaks.

"Can you stop talking for a couple of seconds—" He cuts you off. Cursing lowly, your expression softens, and confusion in your eyebrows urged you to stay silent. While you had said your part, Bakugou didn't need your gratitude. The state you were in the night before said enough as it might have lasted since the day he was injured.

"Look, princess...you made me see things more clearly-" He announced, releasing your face. "—about going home,"

"I did?"

"I left my kingdom because I was scared of making the same mistakes after my old man died. But living in that cave made me realise how much of a coward I really am for running away when my mother needed me most, and I made her do something that cost me my wings." He explained, lowering his eyes to the ground. "Then you came along and annoyed me to the point where I started to think back,"

"I'm-" You started, your lips forming a smile. "I'm really happy to hear that, Bakugou,"

"You should be because I owe you one, princess. That's why I have something to ask you-" He declared. As you both shared another glance, Bakugou's eyes moved to the sky behind you.

Turning around, you see something red flying in and out of the clouds. Instantly recognising who it was, you pulled yourself off the ground and waved an arm, hoping Kirishima could see you. The red dragon slowly descended, taking a moment to show off his flying skills. It made you laugh in amusement seeing Kirishima's wings graze the water after he sliced through the clouds.

Show off. Bakugou rolled his eyes, taking his place next to you. Once Kirishima lands, you got close, and the dragon lowered his head into your hands whilst he shook the water off his wings. Stroking Kirishima's nose, you looked over your shoulder and noticed Bakugou avoiding his friend's gaze.

"I see Bakugou's awakening didn't go so well on your part, huh?" You asked, earning a shake from the dragon.

"I feel sorry for you, poor thing," You said in a teasing tone.

'See, at least she feels my pain,' Said Kirishima, no voice but puffs of air leaving his nose. Bakugou let off a little growl, grabbing hold of the tightening straps on his saddles. You watch as the two collide their heads for a bit of a clash. Bakugou reprimands Kirishima, but their bickering turns into a little play fight. Like children, you followed them every time one would chase after the other. You felt like a caretaker.

"Can you two stop bickering like children," You told them, standing between them. You pushed Kirishima's head back. "This is completely unnecessary, you two, so stop it!"

Kirishima gnarred at Bakugou, nudging the tip of his nose against Bakugou's shoulder. Bakugou stumbles but quickly recovers his footing. Holding Bakugou back by his shoulder, one of his arms went over your shoulder.

"That bastard started it!" Said Bakugou, flicking his kin on the nose. "Hah! take that, you little shit!"

"You're both at fault, so you both started it!"

At this point, Kirishima had enough. However, he saw an opportunity before him as your back is turned to him. While you argued with Bakugou, Kirishima turned and raised the end of his tail. Quickly, he spun, flinging his tail and hit the back of Bakugou's legs. If done perfectly, Bakugou would take you down with him. You gasped, feeling your legs getting swept right beneath you, Bakugou too. Your eyes snapped shut, preparing yourself for the touchdown. The landing wasn't pleasant when you fell right on top of Bakugou where his wound was, yet he didn't flinch.

He didn't until he realised how your face was merely inches away from his. Your noses grazed each other, taking him back. Once your eyes opened, you jumped out of fright. The perpetrator looked away without a care in the world.

"I'm sorry," You apologise, chuckling nervously and your face heating up again. Moving off of his body, Bakugou sits up and pats his chest. This made you concerned about his wound. "Are you in pain?"

"No, it doesn't hurt anymore," He admits. As he rubbed at a particular spot, he ripped the bandages, revealing perfectly healed skin. "See-"

"Thank the gods-" You sighed in relief. "-you had me worried there for a second,"

"Say...I did have something I need to ask you before that idiot showed up," The blonde spoke. You tilt your head, ready for his words. "-Do you wanna come home with me?"
