"Prove it to you?" You questioned, pushing Bakugou back forcefully and standing inflamed by his annoyance. "Why do I need to prove anything to you,"
Bakugou didn't reply. Instead, he used his tail to sweep you off your feet. You yelped, hitting the ground on your back but quickly recovered. Tackling the man to the ground, you straddled him, clashing your foreheads together. "I've had enough of men ordering me around like I have no say in it,"
The dragon king snickered, switching positions with him hovering over you. He held you down, and his tail sat on your legs, keeping them still on the grass. Bakugou watched you struggle beneath him. "Then do something about it, princess. You want everything your way; you're going to have to fight for it,"
Taking his words to heart, your hands emitted an enchanting glow. Suddenly, vines shot out of the ground and wrapped themselves around Bakugou's limps. He was pulled off you giving you room to pick yourself up. As you turned to leave, Bakugou broke out of restraints and shook the vines off his hands. In a flash, he appeared in front of you, sword in hand. He held the blade against your neck, and his other hand found itself on your back, holding your dagger.
"You can do more than that, Y/n. Come on, prove to me that you're not weak," He tells you, hoping to draw out the fighting sprite within you. When he slipped your dagger into your hand, you gripped the handle tight."If you wanna go back home. Fight me if you can, and I'll take you back on Kirishima if you win,"
"Must you treat this as if it's a game?" You spat, moving your arm from behind your back. "How do I know you're telling the truth, Bakugou?"
"I hate lying, but you can find that out for yourself." He replied, releasing you from his hold. Stepping back, the hand behind your back moved to your front while you gazed down at your dagger. Bakugou stood in a fighting stance, but when he saw you ditch your dagger, he stops.
"I yield-" You announced, beckoning to your mother's dagger. "You win, Bakugou."
Bakugou's arms dropped by his sides as you walked away, approaching a lone tree on top of a little hill. Kirishima's snout met Bakugou's shoulder in the middle of his thoughts, shoving him forward. Bakugou growls at the dragon, patting his head. He watched you walk behind the tree out of his line of sight. The dragon at his side purred softly, nudging his rider's body a few more times.
'Talk to her, Bakugou,' Kirishima purred softly.
"Quit it, Kirishima and no!" He yelled, shouldering the dragon's head. Kirishima continued being annoying, using his horns to flip Bakugou's cape over his head. "Hey, you shitty reptile! cut that shit out!"
Not taking no for an answer, the beast smacked the dragon king with his tail making him faceplant the floor before taking flight. Growling, Bakugou turned on his back, flipping the dragon off. "Go home, you fucking beast. I better not sniff you out again until I'm home!"
With that warning, Kirishima took off into the sky, making the beauty of nature feel the power of his wings. Bakugou groaned at the pollen and thin grass flying in his face. The sight of Kirishima's red scales disappeared in the clouds, and Bakugou just laid there for a while. He could hear you fidgeting with your clothes. Leaning his head back, he looked at the lone tree. He could make out bits of your cloak flying in the wind, telling him that you were leaning against the tree trunk.
He decided it was best to give you some space. After all, it was his frightening antics that turned into a problem. Even now, his belligerent side of thinking always had the best of him. Taking it upon himself, he ran away from his home too. For eight years, he roamed the world until he dwelled in solitude inside of the cave; you stumbled in during a storm. You healing the claw marks made by a wolf was the first time he's accepted help in forever.
All that time alone brought something out of Bakugou. He decided it was better for him to stay away from that feeling without giving it a second thought. Growing frustrated, the scar on his back ached whenever he thought of home. It has annoyed him a lot ever since the day he changed people's perspective of him for all time.
Bakugou let out an aggravated sigh as he stood. He wiped whatever he felt on his face with his hands and spun on his heel. He wasn't sure about what Kirishima meant by conversating with you. There's not much to talk about without it ending good or bad. What could he hope to gain out of it if it was what needed to be done?
Paying no mind, he marches up the grassy hill, getting closer and closer until he gets a glimpse of you playing with your necklace. He left his things, his sword, your dagger, and lastly, his cape that fell from his shoulders.
You flinched, hearing him dramatically huff. He sits down beside you resting his back against the trunk. You turned your body away, dropping the necklace charm and frowned.
"You want to know something princess? We're the same, you and I," He abruptly spoke. Running a hand through his hair, his crimson orbs fell on you, expecting that it would pique your interest. He chuckled and continued. "I ran away from my home too..."
Your head shifted, but you kept your face looking at the sun setting. He got you, and he wanted to ignite your curiosity even more. "This shit ain't fucking easy, but I believe you're in the right...running away from a problem you had no control over. No matter what you do, more assholes get in your way."
"And let me guess...your reason for running is different from mine." You spoke, giving him your full attention.
"Yeah...my reason is different, far worse than you could ever imagine." He confessed, his face drops washed with regret. You visioned countless images internally of his past from his expression, yet none seemed to stick.
"How worse?" You asked, tilting your head. Now your whole body faced him, and his plan of enraging your curiosity worked like a charm.
Bakugou sighed, sharing a glance. "You don't wanna know,"
"Right...who am I to pry?" Your lips parted then remember the mercenaries. "I wonder what will become of me when King Enji finds out about his mercenaries. I'll probably have to run off again,"
"Yeah probably." Bakugou pointed out, jabbing your forehead with a finger. "But, you can't let that old man get in your head, or it will be your end."
You hummed, rubbing the spot he poked. "I see-"
Bakugou snickered, resting an arm on his knee bent against his chest. "I'm sorry for how I acted today,"
In all honesty, you weren't expecting an apology. If anything, it brought a small smile to your face. The dragon king apologizing to you. While Bakugou wasn't looking, you grabbed onto his hand, your fingers wrapped around his. The man jolts, his eyes fell onto your hand then back at your face. The smile stretched. "You have nothing to apologize for, Bakugou. Thank you for saving my life."
Unexpected, Katsuki's heartstrings were tugged by you, displaying acts of gratitude, and he almost wanted to squeeze your hand back. However, he noticed the sun and how it was not far from sunset. Standing up, the pull on his hand brought his attention to you, still holding his hand. Shaking his head, he extended his other hand, which you took, and he pulled you up on your feet.
For a moment, you couldn't look elsewhere but Bakugou's eyes. It continued causing your heartbeat to quicken. Bakugou looks down at your hands still in his and lets them go whilst he cleared his throat.
"What happened to your dragon?" You asked quickly, looking at the spot where Kirishima dropped you.
"Kirishima? I sent him home, but I doubt he'd listen to me now that you're around," Bakugou answered, scratching his nose.
"I should thank him too, but aren't we a little too far from the cave," You explained, to which Bakugou turned your head by your chin, where the view of a large city caught your eye. "Where are we?"
"That is Musutafu, princess,"
Musutafu
