I've decided to put languages in the story, so if the text is like this 'Blah blah', it means a character is speaking another language.
The rest of the kingdom was informed of your disappearance. Those who attended the reception were w aware that Prince Shouto gave you a deadline. With his words, your kingdom's survival rested in your hands. Your father didn't like the idea of war. In fact, he planned on living out his days without going to war. It's the image of you carrying a sword that enlightens his hatred for violence. That's what made him the weakest when it came to kingdom defences. He was against your mother training you as she did when she was younger. His big heart full of love made him different from King Enji.
As rumours spread throughout the kingdom, your father is forced into an assemblage between him and Enji. The two kings would sit around a roundtable in a grand meeting hall—a few guards situated here and there, including Izuku. Tensions were high as the storm raged on outside. Back and forth, they argued about you and the wedding.
"Without the princess, we can't go forward with the agreement as planned!" Enji roared. The terror in his voice made the guards quiver as if he burned like an enraged inferno. All except Izuku, who will go forth with his plan after the meeting. "Her arrogance will cost you everything f/n,"
"And I take full responsibility for it, Enji!" Your father fired back. Your old mans hurting heart was bound to split by the weight on his shoulders.
"None of this wouldn't have happened if you and your wife bore more children or sorted out a new queen!" Enji argues, pointing fingers at the man. "Perhaps Y/n wouldn't be a useless fit for the throne."
Izuku's hand grabs hold of the hilt on his sword, twitching fingers parting the blade and its sheath a few fingers apart. "My king, Shall I slice out his tongue for you?"
Your father raised his head at the mention of his wife. He glanced over his shoulder, seeing the glisten of Izuku's sword. He lifts a finger, adding a shake of his head. "That's enough Izuku,"
Izuku understood the gestures and rested his hand behind his back. Standing up off his seat, F/n spoke. "I don't think you understand the meaning of Love, Enji? Because now I'm starting to think if I really need your help in keeping my kingdom afloat,"
"That's big of you, F/n. When you advocate the throne, who's to assume that Y/n would sink your entire empire to the dirt?" Enji claimed, standing up from his seat.
"Like you did with your eldest son, Touya?" F/n appeared conflicted, knitting his brows together earning a low rumble growl. "Ever since Y/n was born, I never doubted her abilities, so why would I start now? As of matter of fact, I want you to leave my home for disrespecting my late wife. Only your son is welcome to stay-"
With that, Enji commanded his guards out of the room. Enji's eyes burned with anger, breathing deeply and noisily. The man stomped through the large doors, slamming them behind him. F/n let out an aggravated sigh, slumping back down in his seat. F/n reaches for the glass of wine and throws it across the room out of anger. Izuku immediately rushed to his side, concerned for the man after he ushered the other guards out of the room.
"Are you okay, your majesty?" Asked Izuku. The room quickly became dark except for the lanterns hanging on the walls. Izuku is alone with your father, kneeling beside his chair.
"I'm alright, Izuku," F/n reassured him, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I need to have a word with my generals. Perhaps it's best if y/n isn't found. She's safer out there than in the palace,"
"What makes you so sure?"Said Izuku, acting curious despite knowing so much already.
"Y/n is an Elementalist. She can defend herself, and knowing her, she probably planned ahead. After all, she did have a good teacher. Any guild outside of the kingdom would be lucky to have her," F/n assumed, tapping the arm of his chair. He knows you took your mother's dagger since the box was missing, and he knows you hid your mother's grave with your magic. Knowing that Izuku left that same night, meeting Ochaco and Iida at the city gates.
Ochaco greeted the green-haired boy. "We came as quickly as we could, Deku,"
Iida pats Izuku on the shoulder. "We'll make a quick stop at Takoba and enlist you in our guild as an adventurer, so we don't get into trouble for destroying public property,"
"I appreciate it, you guys, thank you," Izuku smiled as Ochaco opened a magical portal. Ochaco playfully hits Izuku's arm, using the end of her staff to push him into the portal.
"We'll have a better chance at tracking Hawks once the storm is over," Ochaco suggested, following the boys into the portal. It disappears once Ochaco's entire body reaches the other side.
The smell of meat overflowed your nostrils as you stirred in your sleep. Sight cloudy and body stiff, your eyes slowly began to open. They met the roof of the cave, illuminated by the warm fire's glow. You rolled onto your side and felt something tickling your nose as you rubbed at your eyes. Tending to the fire was Bakugou, stirring whatever he had inside the cauldron hanging over the fire. You saw his ears perk, meaning he knew you were awake and turned to you, sitting up on your palms. His eyes fell on his cape, not excepting you to push it over to him.
"Thank you for letting me use it," You thanked him, feeling your clothes were dry enough to keep you warm. Snatching the cape out of your hands, he draped it over his scar and held a bowl filled with what he had made. You hesitated for a moment. "Um-"
"Take it, or die from the cold," He commanded, pushing the bowl into your hands. You hissed, feeling a couple of drops hit your hand. You would've dropped the bowl if you hadn't rested it in your lap. The heat from the bowl brought a sigh, and you gazed down, spotting chunks of meat swimming in its own little pool. Bringing the bowl to your lips, you drank the broth while your teeth chewed on the meat chunks.
Bakugou watched as you ate before he finished his bowl in one gulp. He would need to put up with it for six more days, and you'd be gone for good. Wiping your mouth, you fanned your tongue to ease the burning sensation tickling the back of your throat. "Ow, that burns,"
"Next time, blow on it, dumbass," The king tells you, earning a pout as your reaction.
"Thank you for the advice, Bakugou, and my name is Y/n, not dumbass." Dropping your bowl on the floor. Bakugou dips his empty bowl back in the cauldron and refills it to the brim.
"I didn't hear you dumbass, speak up!" said Bakugou, chugging his stew down as he did with his first round. You shook your head, and he tossed his bowl over his shoulder, making the wood bounce. Bakugou shuffled that way; he was facing you. That's when he asked. "Now, tell me, princess. Why are you all the way out here?"
"Hm? I didn't tell you?" Was your reply.
"Hey! you're in my cave. Answer the damn question or sleep outside!" Bakugou snarled, scratching the bridge of his nose. He points his thumb at the entrance of his cave, where the sight of the storm still sent unwanted shudders and made your skin prickly.
"Fine..." You said, rolling your eyes. "I was fleeing an arranged marriage because of my fiance's father,"
"Because of an old man closer to death like everyone else in this godforsaken world?" The blonde snickered, his cheeks then puffed out before his fits of laughter grew in volume. "You probably got some scrawny kid attached to his mother's tit all the time."
"It's King Enji's son who I'm betrothed to," You admitted. Bakugou paused his own amusement and looked back at you, somewhat shocked. Your eyes stared at your lap as you heard the man sigh after an awkward silence washed over you for a few moments.
"Well, shit-"
I swear on my massive non-existent dick...I need a bloody cigarette after I finish editing this book.
