Your friends did as they were instructed and made sure you got home safely. They decided they would sleep over to keep you company. You all were sitting, smoking, and talking about what happened.

"I can't believe you got loud with Levi and walked away with only a slap," Jean said right before passing Connie, who was on the floor next to him, the blunt.

You were on the bed with Mikasa, laying with your head hanging off the bed and upside down, facing the wall in front of you. "His little ass wasn't going to do a damn thing."

"Have you thought about what you're gonna tell Armin yet ?" Connie coughed after his sentence from keeping the smoke in too long and passed the blunt to you.

You took a long hit and ghosted it, so that it would go down better. You exhaled and spoke. "I guess I'll just text him now." You take one more hit, before passing the blunt to Mikasa, and pick up your phone.

You sigh and put your phone down, going back to zoning out while looking at the wall. "How'd it go,"Connie said as he tapped your arm trying to pass you the blunt that made its way back to him.

You took it and just stared down at it while you talked. "He's actually coming over with his friend. I rather talk to him in person."

Jean quickly sat up from his laying down position on the floor. "Isn't Levi going to be home soon ?"

You look at him. "Jean you know that once my mom gets a sip of wine in her, there's no telling when they'll be back. I give it five more hours." You laugh to yourself and pass the blunt to Mikasa.

"She's right. Aunt Steffanie can take a sip in the restaurant and her and Uncle Levi will end up in New Jersey. Like that one Christmas she got a little egg nog in her and we ended up in New Brunswick looking at Christmas lights," Mikasa agrees.

Connie laughed. Partly due to him being high and partly due to him remembering that exact day. "She made me pee on somebody's lawn because she didn't want to stop looking at the lights."

You all started cracking up with high giggles. Jean and Connie were rolling around the floor. You briefly felt a little better and less uneasy about the talk you and Armin were going to have in a few minutes.

You then hear your phone ring which snatches you out of the moment. It was your mom.

"Hey baby cakes. Is John, Connor, and Melissa with you ?" She was drunk as hell.

"You mean Jean, Connie, and Mikasa, right mom ?"

"Yeah that's what I said. Anyways tell them they're welcome to stay over for a week. Me and Levi are going to be spending time with Erwin and his wife in Atlantic City to celebrate your engagement !" Great celebrating your misery. Parents of the year award goes to-

"Okay I'll tell them. By-"

"WAIT. Dear I love you."

"I love you too mo-"

"And your father loves you too."

"Yeah I'll believe it when I see it."

"(Y/n) please. That's not fair."

"Listen mom. Um we're gonna watch this movie now. Have fun."

You could hear her sigh from the other side of the phone. "Okay. Be safe. Love you."

You hung up and tossed your phone into the space behind you on your bed.

"Everything alright," Mikasa asks with a concerned look. At least the most concerned look she could make, being that she was zooted as fuck.

"Yeah. They're going to celebrate in Jersey for a week. She said you guys can stay over."

"Bet that up. But we gotta get some snacks and shit. I can't eat this organic shit all week," Connie started to get up until you guys all heard a little knock on your window.

You went over to answer it and see Armin, standing there with his usual light hearted smile and Eren standing behind him. "Hey guys." You smile at the two.

"Hey gorgeous. What did you wanna talk about ?"

You clear your throat, "Eren can you wait in here while I talk to Armin ?"

Eren is hesitant to answer but he catches a glimpse of Mikasa and nods. He climbs through the window and plops himself into your room. You look behind you one more time to make sure everybody was okay before you grabbed a jacket that was laying on your floor and stepped out of the window.

Armin held your hand to help you stabilize yourself onto the fire escape. You two stood in silence until he spoke. "So ? What's wrong ?"

"I don't really know how to tell you this."

Armin's smile quickly wiped away. He looked more worried than anything. "You can tell me anything. It's okay."

You smiled at his sweetness but stopped after remembering what you were here to discuss with him. 

"I'll just say it then," you pause and laugh nervously. You felt as tears crowded your tear ducts in. You quickly sucked it up and took a few deep breaths. Maybe he'd understand. Right ? "I don't think we can do this anymore, Armin."

He laughed nervously, waiting for you to say it was a joke. A few seconds went by before he realized you were, unfortunately dead serious. He was hurt. He was confused. He rarely got agitated with you but now was one of those rare occasions.

 "(y/n). What are you talking about ?" It was hard for you to get the right words out.

"Listen it was fun. And I really do like you but-".

"But what ?! Were you just leading me on for fun ?!"

"Of course not Armin."

"So why ?! You know what, fine. Probably dodged a bullet, being with an Ackerman anyway."

You couldn't muster up the courage to tell him you were engaged since you didn't want to hurt him more than he clearly already was. You accepted that all good things must come to an end. Even if they end on bad terms. Before you went back inside, with tears still streaming down your face, you pull him in by the shoulders and give him a kiss on the cheek. Mostly trying to say goodbye. "I'm sorry Armin."

You turned back around and crawled back into your room. Everyone's face turned to you, growing more and more concerned. "Are you okay, (y/n) ?" Eren asked as he walked over to the window to meet his friend outside. You nodded and he looked at you one more time before leaving. "I'll uh- see you guys around."

You, Connie, Jean, and Mikasa sat in silence for a few minutes until you heard them get off of the fire escape. Jean who was still high off his ass convinced himself that your tears were happy ones. "Soooo. How'd it goooo ?"
