earlier this morning, nct's star posted a tweet involving fellow member, who also happens to be her long-time boyfriend, jisung, that has caused a lot of controversy. here is the tweet:

the tweet has left a bad taste in many fans's mouths. some argue that it was just a joke, others reason that it was out of line. the tweet was posted only four days after jisung's birthday, and this has also been a cause of criticism.

according to netizens, star also wrote quite demeaning things in the "about him" section. she embarrassed him, even going as far as calling him dumb and comparing him to a twelve year old.

sm, star, and jisung have already made their own statements. here is sm's statement:
