Eunjae P.O.V

"Nothing?"

I nodded my head. "Nothing. The pad's just like how it was when I put it on this morning."

I was sitting on a chair in front of the doctor after returning from a shock from the bathroom.

"What about when you changed it today morning? Was there bleeding that time?" She asked.

I scrunched my eyebrows in concentration, trying to recall.

"Yeah, there was, but I think it was from last night."

"Exactly when did you get your period?"

"Past midnight on Monday, but that would be Tuesday, won't it?" I asked, confused.

"You body wouldn't have known that," she joked, laughing slightly. I joined in meekly, not in the mood for joking.

This was the first time something like this was happening to me, and frankly, I was worried, but I was more pissed, that the doctor wasn't mirroring my feelings.

"This isn't normal, is it?" I asked slowly.

"No," she said calmly, "it's not normal."

I blinked at her calmness.

"But," she added, "it isn't unheard of either."

"So, periods can stop after a day?"

"Well, yes, they can stop after a day. However, if it happens continuously, I think that's something to be worried about. Obviously, all bodies are different, so it's not worrisome when it happens to some people. But, for you, Eunjae, since you've had normal cycles for over a year, I think it should be concerning, only if it happens again. So, wipe that frown off of your face!"

The doctor patted my back, smiling. I smiled back.

"If the same issue persists next month too, send me a message, I'll take a look at you then. Okay?"

I nodded.

"Well, I think this concludes your checkup, you're healthy as always, Eunjae! Keep smiling, because, believe it or not, internal happiness does play a role in how your body works."

The doc gently pulled my lips up to form a smile. I giggled, standing up.

"Thank you so much, doctor!"

"Don't mention it."

As I walked away from the hall, I realised with a grimace that I couldn't speak with Sunhee now.

I mean, I was pretty sure that after our argument, she wouldn't even look at me.

And I was proven right when I entered our room, only to find it empty. Everything was just how I had left it this morning, when we headed for breakfast, except I found that Sunhee's blue bag was nowhere to be found.

That blue bag contained all of Sunhee's most precious possessions; her notebooks where she jots down random things, and sketchbooks where she draws and sketches in her free time.

She pulled it out only when she was bored out of her mind, or when she didn't wanna talk with me. The latter was most likely the reason why it's gone now.

I sighed, throwing myself onto the bed, immediately regretting it when my back hit something solid that was kept on the bed.

I sat up, massaging my back, and saw that my back had collided with the sharp bristles of my hairbrush.

Gazing at the bristles, the pain caused by it suddenly multiplied.

I groaned and threw the hairbrush away in anger. It hit the side of the table and fell to the ground with a thump.

I too, let myself fall on the bed with a similar thump, pulling the fluffy duvet over my head.

Since I didn't have anything to do, I would do the thing I was best at; sleeping.

Humming in content at the comfort the bed and duvet gave me, I closed my eyes, letting sleep take over my senses.

-

When I woke up, I realised that the time was a little past three.

Great, I missed lunch.

But, on the other hand, I did feel much refreshed. I hadn't gotten much sleep after my nightmare last night, so I felt better now after a long, long nap.

I stretched and went to the washroom, to check if my period really had ended, and found that it really had ended.

Grabbing as many packets of junk food my hands and mouth could carry, I slumped back in my bed, eyes scanning for the TV remote.

Once I found the remote, I set everything down and made myself comfortable in my bed, determined to finish that drama I had started a month ago.

Before I knew it, I had finished that drama, as well as all the food, and had even moved on to a new drama. It was a supernatural one, so immediately, I was hooked.

I, no doubt, would've binge watched the entire thing, if it wasn't for the familiar bell ringing notification from my mobile.

At once, I grabbed my phone. The bell ringing notifications signalled a new assignment for us.

All of us were divided into groups, and each group had a separate discussion section, where we could all discuss who wanted to go for the night.

I scrolled through the long message which had the client's basic information, and found out that he was in a dance academy, and lived in a hostel that was close to it.

No one was volunteering to go.

Each group had an assigned person who would go if no one volunteered, but the girl from my group had gone just yesterday, so someone had to volunteer.

I don't what made me do what I did next, but my fingers moved back and forth on the colourful keyboard of my phone on their own accord, typing two words before pressing send.

'I'll go.'

Before I had time to register what I did, a thumbs up emoji flashed on my screen, from the person who handled all the assignments.

I winced a little at my hastiness.

Well, spoke a voice at the back of my mind, Sunhee isn't speaking to you any way, and going there will be better than the extremely awkward night with her.

True, I internally agreed.

I looked at the time, and realised that I still had more than an hour before I had to leave, and decided to have an early dinner.

The junk food was good, but it wasn't as filling as actual food.

-

As I got into the taxi, hands over my head, trying to block the sudden downpour of rain, I was internally kicking myself for not wearing something warmer than a pullover.

In my defence, however, it was November, for God's sake; it's not supposed to be raining, especially not so heavily.

But, judging from the poor visibility of the road in front of us, despite the continuous wiping of the wipers, it seemed that the heavens had literally been opened.

Brilliant.

And to top it off, I was wearing a white shirt. My pullover wasn't very long, but at least it was doing it's job well.

I sat in the taxi, trying to find warmth and comfort in my own arms, which were tightly wrapped around me, as the driver drove me to my destination.

I had to commend the guy for not crashing into a building, or throwing us over a cliff, or something, and actually being able to make out the road and drive.

Unfortunately for me, the taxi wasn't allowed inside the premises, and I had to run in the rain, searching for the guy's room.

Twice, I nearly slipped and fell on the ground.

Cursing the guy who had wanted to have sex tonight, I straightened myself, speed-walking towards the nearest building.

The numbers on the door were dully visible, owing to the frequent lightning strikes in the sky. I learnt that I was currently sheltered from the merciless rain by the roof of building one.

Taking a deep breath, I swiftly walked towards the next building, which ought to be building two, where the guy I was supposed to fuck tonight, lived.

My eyes quickly scanned the door numbers, and I groaned when I realised that the guy lived upstairs.

After climbing a dangerously slippery flight of stairs, I found out, not-so conveniently, that there was no roof here.

Still being splashed with the rain, getting wet (and not the fun kind), I didn't question the odd positioning of room 218 beside 220.

All I wanted was to get inside a room, away from the cold shower of rain.

The door I was endlessly knocking swung open, leaving me gaping at the sight in front of me.

"You!"
