hyunri's pov.

a whole week and a half after, yet i still couldn't quit thinking about what seonghwa said about being a 'genius couple' and 'too bad' we're not dating. i hoped i was just overthinking this whole thing.

i picked at the greasy cafeteria kimchi during lunch and sighed. my friends should arrive any minute after their classes, but for now i was a lonely bean. when i looked up, i hadn't even noticed seonghwa sitting across from me at the table.

"seonghwa-oppa!" i shouted in shock. my cheeks burned as he began to laugh. i was so tense i could've fainted.

"oppa? that's a new one." he chuckled lightly and grabbed a spare pair of chopsticks and began to eat my food too. i put my chopsticks down so he couldn't see how bad my hands were shaking.

"seonghwa..." i started hesitantly, "what did you mean last week when you said 'too bad'?"

"hm, at the library?" he asked and i nodded back, "mhm"

seonghwa smiled brightly, turning back to the kimchi on my platter. i didn't even mind him eating my food.

he returned, "oh, i like you."

my jaw dropped in awe. he did not just confess so soon... to me! how is he so confident when i'm so nervous? my face was really as red as that kimchi he was stealing from my plate.

"i-uh-you-um-i-w-we" i stuttered helplessly and then started to awkwardly chuckle. seonghwa just grinned intimidatingly.

"you can answer me later." he said softly as he ruffle dmy hair up all crazy, smiling. "i don't want to rush things, okay?"

he stood up and started to walk back to his table. my heart pounded so loud i thought it'd beat out of my chest. i bit my lip.

"seonghwa?" i said. he slowly turned back around.

"i like you too."

he laughed and shook his head, "i could tell."

then he walked off again. a huge smile rose to my face as i played with my fingers. seonghwa and i... like each other!

"hey, why are you smiling like that?" yeeun asked as she joined me at the table, along with mayako and huiyin.

"seonghwa likes me! he likes me back!"
