josephine vs lucius !
CHAPTER FOUR
↳ josephine vs lucius !
THE FIRST MONTH OF SCHOOL HAD PAST BY RATHER QUICKLY and the group of friends have had many homeworks. Josi had often studied every with Remus and Lily in the library. Now and then Remus had brought Black with him, which surprised Josi very much.
It was not likely to spot Sirius Black in the Library. He was more the person who didn't gave a single flying fuck about school and wasn't caught dead in a library. He wasn't interisted in good grades or Homework. The boy would rather spent his time with freinds and cause some mischief.
But Sirius would actually sit there and read, and if he didn't read he tried to start a conversation with one of them, which was sometimes a bit annoying.
Every other afternoon in the week Josephine would sit with Marlene, Alice and Lily by the black Lake, chatting with them and reading.
On the Weekends, the girls and her would visit Hogsmeade together, like all the others students that were old enough to go.
Sometimes they would go without Alice because she wanted to spend time with Frank as well.
Right now Sirius was casually strolling down the large corridor, on his way to the Defense against the dark arts classroom, his brown school bag hanging loosely over his right shoulder.
The boy stuffed his hands into his back pockets as he started to whistle.
When the teenage boy was about to round the corner, his tie hangig around his neck, dangling back and forth, he collided with something that made him stummble back hardly.
Sirius gaze fell down towards that something he had collided with and recognized a familiar brunette who sat on the ground, hoding her forehead.
"Merlin, Black! Watch where you going!", the brunette girl exclaimed as she quickly got onto her feet and stared at the boy infont of her.
"Easy sweetheart, you ran into me", the boy stated and he let out an amused chuckle while watching her. Josi immediatley furrowed her eyebrows, "No I didn't."
The two looked at each other for a short moment but then Josephine quickly broke the eye contact and bend down to grab her books, which were scattered all over the floor.
Sirius didn't wasted time and quickly bend down as well, helping her to grab her books. "Why aren't you in class?", he questioned her curiously as he handed her her books over.
Their eyes met again and Josi shrugged as she took the book from his hands, their hands brushing against each other, making that tingling feeling rush through her body again. "Alice wasn't feeling that well, so I brought her to the hospital wing."
The boy nodded at her simply. "Where are you heading to?", the Potter girl suddenly asked him, questioningly look on her face.
"I was— um on my way to DADA", Sirius told Josi as he scratched the back of his head with his left hand.
"You know that the DADA classroom is on the other side of the castle right?", the brunette questioned him, squinting her chocolate brown eyes at him suspiciously.
"Uhm, no", he shortly mumbled as Josi let out a small laugh, "Okay, let's go, or Mr. Merrythought will give us a Detention." Sirius nodded his head before they both started hurrying down the corridor.
The two had just reached dtbe med if the corridor as they heard foot steps approaching them, which made them slow down.
A large smirk immediately appeared on the boys face as he winked at two Hufflepuff girl who walked past him, letting out giggles as they greated him, "Morning, Sirius."
Josephine rolled with her eyes as she mimicked the two in a high pitched voice, "Morning Sirius." She fluttered with her lashes as Sirius laughed loudly.
"Excuse me, I think I have to go and vomit", the brunette joked as she fake gagged, making Sirius nudge his shoulder against hers.
The two continued their way down the corridor before they reached the big doors of the classroom.
Sirius let out on big sighed and pushed the door opened, reveling their classmates who all turned to look at them with big eyes.
The Gryffindor flashed Mr. Merrythought a dashing smile as he flipped his raven hair.
"Mr. Black, Ms. Potter, finally pleasing us with your presents", Mr. Merrythought stated as he watched how the teenagers with a strict look on his face.
Sirius immediately strolled towards his usual seat next to James. "Yes, I am Sir", he answered him with a smirk on his face, Josi gasped for air as she shot the boy a glare.
"I'm really sorry, Sir", the girl started her apology, before Sirius opened his mouth to say something but Josephine quickly stept onto his foot, which made the boy grunt in pain. "We took Alice to the Hospital wing, she wasn't feeling well", the girl explained to the teacher in a sweetly voice.
The teacher waved her off, "It's okay, Ms. Potter. Just, uh, don't let it happen again." Josephine nodded her head quickly as she dashed towards her seat beside Lily, who was seated right infront of James and Sirius.
The red head watched her friend intensively as the brunette slipped into the seat besides her. Josi could feel her friend staring at her and after a while she turned her head towards Lily, "What?"
The girl continued to look at her sceptical, "Please tell me you two didn't snog each other." Josephine's eyes widened immediately in shock, "Lily, what the—"
"She wish we did", Sirius voice whispered from behind them making the both turned towards him.
"Seriously?", the brunette girl questioned him with an annoyed expression on her face.
Sirius gave her a simple wink which owned him a slap over the head from James.
"Oiii!", the back haired boy exclaimed at his best mate while he rubbed the back of his head. Sirius wanted to open his mouth and say something but in that moment Mr. Merrythought stepped infront of their tables.
"First interrupting my lesson by being to late and now talking", he stated as he stared down at them.
"You're this close to getting another Detention today Mr. Black", the teacher warned him as he emphasized his words with a gesture of his hands.
The man spun around and walked back to the front, continuing with his lesson without any further interruption.
But that was properly because Sirius was preocoupied with starring at the back of Josephine's head the rest of the lesson.
Next the girl had a douple lesson posions, which also meant Slytherins. It was an understandment to say that Josi wasn't ecxited at all. In fact Posions was the worst lessons of all, not because Josi coudn't do it.
She was rather brilliant in that department, much like Lily, no it was because the Gryffindors and Slytherins would continue all lesson to make snarky remarks and glare at each other.
Josi honestly coudn't understand how Professor Slughorn could stand infront of them and tolerate their childish behaviour but Slughorn was the house teacher of the snakes and he would never say something against his own students.
Marlene and Lily had joined Josi on the way downstairs to the dungeons and the three girl started chatting on their way to the class room.
Josephine hated the dungeons, they were cold, dark and scary. Every time they were entering them, she felt like she was entering enemy territory.
The three girl rounded the corner and immediatley spotted the Slytherins that waited outside the opened class room, not wanting to go insdie until the lesson had really started.
Josephine felt how Lily's body tensed up besdies her and the brunette grabbed her hand and gave it a ressuring squeez.
As soon as the three had reached the door the brunette could spot Malfoy, Bellatrix, Severus and Narcissa in the crowd. Malfoy spotted them as well and quickly took a step forward as he smirked evily, hissing at Lily, "Filthy Mudblood."
The red head squeezed Josi's hand as the three hurried past them, but not before Josi shot the blonde boy a hateful glare.
The three girl sat quietly down by the table they had practically reserved for them since first grade. Lily hadn't looked up since they enetered the room and as Josi placed her book onto the table she sighed, "Lil's, you know you're better than them, right?"
The red head didn't answered, making Marlene join in in Josi's pep talk, "Yeah, honestly you could kick his ass anytime."
This time Lily smiled a little bit, while putting her book onto the table as well. "I just don't understand why it's so important to them to be pureblood", the girl stated as she shrugged with her shoulders.
"They think that it would make them the superiors in the wizarding world", Josi shortly explained to her as she let her gaze wander off towards the door, where now the crowd of students was streaming through.
In that moment Professor Slughorn entered the room, greeting them all excited as he smiled his awkward smile.
The students had quickly settaled down and josi could hear the Marauders chatt at the table besides them while she let her gaze wander over the heads of the others students.
Not everyone had choose to take potions this year, only the students who were perfectly good at it and the people who planned on to becoming an Auror. Josi was both, perfectly good at it and wanted to become an Auror.
The girls thought were interrupted by the Professor who now stood behind his desk, "Today we'll be browing the draught of living death. Does anyone know the affect it has on it's consumer?"
The man let his gaze wander over the crowd as he spotted Lily's hand in the air. "Yes, Ms. Evans?"
Lily let her hand sink down before she answered him quickly, "The potion causes the drinker to fall into a deep, death-like slumble." Slughorn nodded his head in agreement, "Ah, yes, very good Ms. Evans."
"So, the list of ingrediebts is in your books, please start now", the Professor stated before he clapped his hand together.
All the students immediatley rushed to the shelfs and grabbed the ingrediebts before they started their potion.
Josi was just about to cut her moondow as she heard malfoys disgusting laugh in her ear, which made the girl started to agressivly cut the moondow, making Marlene look over at her with a frown on her face.
"What did this Moondow did to you?", the blonde questioned her friend curiously as she leaned a little forward to peek at Josi's ingredients.
Josi rasied her eyebrows and looked up at Marlene, which made the girl lean back again. "I imagine it to be something else. For example, Malfoys face."
"Well, if it helps you", Marlene shrugged at her as she gazed at the blond boy with a disgusted look in her eyes.
"God, look at that git, strutting around like he's anything more than a pathetic coward", the Mckinnon girl muttered as they suddenly all stared at the boy, who now let his friends eye his perfect potion with an arrogant look on his face.
Josi fake gaged before she focused back on cutting her Moondow that still laid infront of her. By the end of the lesson Josi had made a acceptable potion, Professor Slughorn was satisfied but Josi really wasn't.
She knew that she could do batter, she was just a litte distracted lately.
The girl left the classroom not long after the boys had, her bag hanging over her shoulder as she let out a frustrated sighed.
Lily and Marlene followed after her out of the room, but the three hadn't even stepped completely out of the door as Malfoy and his friends passed them.
Malfoy had a smirk on his face, "I didn't knew they let the trash down here." His friends all snickered as Josi scoffed again.
She grabbed into the inner pocket of her roap and pulled out her wand before she spun around and pointed it at Malfoy.
"Flippendo!", the blue spell hit the boy and sent him backwards as he let out a girlish scream. Josi raised an eyebrow at him as she smirked, "Yeah, that's what I thought."
A smirk appeared on her lips, but that quickly vanished as Professor Slughorn entered the Hallway.
His eyes were wide opened as his gaze wandered back and forth between the girls and the Slytherins, "Ms. Potter, I'm very disappointed. 50 points from Gryffindor and you'll see me in Detention for the next two weeks."
Josis eyes widened immediatley as she heard his words, "She's completely mental!", Lucius screamed furiously, catching the Professors attention.
"Now, Mr. Malfoy don't you think i didn't heard your words. 15 points from Slytherin and Detention for a week."
Josephine wanted to protest but Lily grabbed her by the arm and dragged her towards the stairs that led up to the castle.
"Malfoy's right. You're completely mental, you coud've been expelled", Lily hissed at her friend shocked.
Josephine rolled with her eyes, shrugging immediately "Whatever, he was a git." Marlene let out a loud snort, "Josephine Potter, I love you!"
AFTER JOSEPHINE HAVE HAD LUNCH WITH THE OTHERS, SHE quickly made her way towards the large Greenhouses. Josephine was actualy not so much of a fan of Herbology, she had only said that once, because of Alice.
Truth was Josi only liked the Greenhouses. She liked the atmosphere, the many exotic plants that grew there and the smell of earth and fresh grass.
Some of Josi's hair strands had made their way out of her loose lower bun as she finally entered the greenhouse. Some of the other students were already there, under them Lily, Remus and Alice.
Professor Berry was standing by the end of the large metal table, collecting some plants as he seemed deep in his own thoughts. The brunette girl eyed him for a small moment and decided it was the best to not interrupt him.
She spun around to her friends and they all flashed her a smile before Lily waved her over to them.
Josi smiled as well before she quickly made her way over to her friends. She let her school bag fall to the ground as she stopped besides Lily and brushed her hair strands behind her ear.
"The only thing keeping me alive right now is the fact that the couch in the common room is waiting for me", the girl mummbled as she gazed over at her friends.
In that moment someone scoffed from besides her, making them all quickly spin their heads. Marlene had joined them while Josie had complained about her day.
The blond rolled her eyes as she eyed her friends, "I feel like I'm already asleep." She slowly leaned onto the table while she closed her eyes and exhaled deeply.
"Hang in there lads, rescue is on it's way", James voice suddenly shouted from the door as he threw his hands into the air with a smug smirk on his face.
Now it was Lily who exhaled deeply and leaned onto the table, her head in her hands. After James followed Sirius, who had his hands in his pockets and strolled down the hall as he whistled.
Peter was the last of the three who entered the room, his head held foen as he quickly rushed past the other students. The three pasted Lily, Alic, Josephine and Lily before they joined Remus who stood besides Remus.
The three threw their bags into a corner and then started talking casually, like the other students around them all did.
The chattering got louder and louder every minute and at some point Professor Berry whistled loudly, catching the students attention.
The dark haired, little man was a bit chubby, he had glasses sitting on his nose, his clothes were a little dirty from the dirt he was working with and despite his mustach Josephine could see his warm smile as he streched out his arms and clapped with his hands.
"Welcome to todays lesson!" They all stared at him unmtivated while he let his hand sink down again and cleared his throat. "Well, today we'll be learning around the Whippling willow. A rather fascinating plant if you ask me."
The professor pushed his glasses back as Josephine craned her neck, trying to see past the many students, while the four boys behind her exchanged interisted looks.
"You can recognize the tree by it's leaves. They are thin and long. It is a very rare tree, and one of it stands here on the Hogwarts yard. It is very violent and attacks everything that come in it's way."
The brunette teenage girl eyed the picture of the plant in her book. And it was really a tiny replica of the whippling willow that stood not so far away from the castle.
It would be a very beautiful tree if it wasn't as deadly as it was.
The rest of the lesson continued on and Josephine took notes as she watched her professor interisted.
When the lesson was over Josephine grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder before she followed after Marlene and Lily.
They already had left the greenhouse when the group of boys caught up to them.
As they arrived by Josephine, Sirius and James pushed past Marlene and Lily to walk right besides Josephine.
"So Jo, we heard you got in trouble", her twin stated as he stuffed his hands into the back pockets of his black pants.
Sirius eyed the brunette girl as a smirk appeared on his face, "That's pretty badass. You're not gonna become competition, are you?"
The girl scoffed as she rolled with her eyes, "I will certainly not." She shrugged as she grabbed onto the string of her bag, "But I'm not sad that I did it. I'm only angry that I got caught."
"Detention actually isn't that bad", Sirius shrugged as he smiled at her. "Yeah, you have to say that. You are in Detention all the time!", Josephine stated while she gazed over at the boy.
"Hey!", the dark haired boy exclaimed as he held his hands up. The brunette gave him and her brother a look before she rounded the corner and entered the castle again.
"I guess I'm gonna see you in Detention then", Sirius voice called after her, making Josephine spin around and look at him in surprise. "What?"
The boy stuffed his hand into his black trouser pockets, "McGonagall caught me preparing a prank."
"Huh, well see you then." The brunette girl eyed him for another second before she spun around again and left the corridor.
