CHAPTER SIX !
↳ helloween !
JOSEPHINE POTTER WAS not a party girl at all. She wasn't like Marlene, the brunette was more the type of girl, who sat in the warm common room and read a good book while she drank a hot chocolate.
But nothing could stop Josi from attending the anual Helloween party, mostly because Marlene was forcing her to go anyway.
The party had already started an hour ago when the four girls finally made their way downstairs to the large Gryffindor common room.
As they let their eyes wander around they could see the colourfull Helloween decoration and the scary pumpkins that were placed on the window ledge.
Josephine held onto the cold metal railing as she slowly walked down the stairs, hoping she wouldn't stummble and fall onto her nose.
As the brunette had finally arrived at the bottom of the stairs she was greeted by a already very drunk James, who immediately pushed a drink into her hand and yelled at his sister over the music. “Happy Halloween, Jo!"
James suddenly grabbed her by the arm and dragged Josephine over to Remus and Peter, who both stood by a crowd of other people.
As she arrived by them the girl recognized Fabian, Gideon and Mary, who were all laughing loudly.
Mary was the first one to spot Josi and quickly gave her a hug before she eyed her costume up and down.
Josi had smokey eyes, that matched her tight black dress with her black high heels and her black angle wings.
Her bright red lips were shining in the dim light and her dark brown hair was softly falling over her shoulders in waves.
"You look stunning girl!", Mary exclaimed excited, making Josie's cheeks flush. "Thank you, Mary", the brunette shouted over the music at the dark skinned girl, who smiled at her widely.
The two looked over to the rest of the group. "Hello, boys", Josi greeted them smiling, before she downed the drink she still had in her hand.
Remus chuckled quietly as he looked at his friend. "You look beautiful, Jo", he complimentet her as his cheeks grew a bit red.
Josi blushed as well, not that she had feelings for Remus, don't get her wrong he was indeed very handsome but she just couldn't handle compliments, exactly like Remus couldn't give them, or apparently handle them.
She lightly pushed his shoulder playfully while chuckling, "Oh, shut up, Remus."
Josi slowly let her gaze wander around, the common room was completely full with people, who were dancing, drinking and singing loudly.
Her eyes still moved over the many heads before she suddely spotted the dark haired head of Sirius Black in a corner of the Common room.
He was casually leaning against the wall while he talked to some random girl, Josi didn't knew. She was probably from another house.
The brunette rolled her eyes and scoffed, that was so typical, she thought to herself.
But as Josi brought herself to watch the two interact with each other, she saw that the girl at some point indeed wanted to go in for a kiss, but Sirius leand back quickly and shook his head at her.
The Potter girl smiled a bit to herself, but mostly she was confused, why was she happy about that. The brunette shook her head and furrowed her eyebrows to herself.
Remus who had followed her look to Sirius and chuckled. "You knew that he didn't touched a single girl since school started", the boy told her as he took a sip from his drink.
Josi head snapped up as she looked at him surprised, "That's weird. Do you think he's okay?"
Remus chuckled again as he softly grabbed her by the shoulder. "I don't know. Let's go get drinks!", he suggested while quickly dragging her over to the alcohol table.
After about ten minutes, the two friends were still standing by the alcohol, Sirius slowly approached them, a drink in his hand.
"Hey Potter, looking good this evening", he immediately flirted while smiling brightly at her. Josephine could smell the alcohol when his breath hit her face.
"Good to see you too, Padfood", Remus said, playing offended that he didn't greeted him as he raised his drink at his friend.
"Oi, dear Moony, my best mate, how is it going ?", Sirius asked Remus a little drunk, while puring himself another drink.
Josi and Remus exchanged a look behind the boy's back and as the Black boy spun around to them Josi grabbed his drink from his hands. "I think you've had enough."
The boys mouth dropped open and he wanted to argue with her, but Josi just handed someone who walked past them his cup.
Sirius shot her an annoyed look before Remus made smalltalk with him.
Josi stood besides them, watching the people, while Sirius continued to constantly try and flirt with her.
She honestly found that quite amusing in his drunk state. He wouldn't even remember that the next day, she thought as she chuckled at the boy's behavior.
At some point Remus disappeared to get some snacks with Lily, leaving Josi and Sirius to themselves.
Meanwhile Sirius had sobered up a bit, but was still tipsy as he eyed her with his big grey eyes. "Soo um Josi, honestly you really do look beautiful tonight", the boy complimented her as he rubbed the back of his neck.
The girl blushed madly. "Thank you, Black", she answered with a small smile playing on her lips, making Sirius roll with his eyes.
"Call me, Sirius", he pounted at her with puppy dog eyes. "I think about it", Josi stated as she took another sip from her drink.
The two stood in silence and as they stood there, looking at each other in silence, Josi remembered the evening when the two came back from Slughorn's detention.
Her throat went dry almost immediately and she felt how her heart started beating heavily again.
Sirius eyes scanned over her face, his heart beating loudly in his ears as he thought about the evening as well.
The pictures came back and he remembered exactly how her brown hair had fallen over her shoulders. Her brown eyes, who looked at him questioning and her pink lips.
The boy started smiling as he snapped back into the moment, feeling the tension of the moment.
Josi wanted to open her mouth, but in that moment a very drunk Gideon Prewett grabbed Josie's hand.
"Josi, come on! You didn't dance once!", he exclaimed laughing, while draging the brunette over to Marlene, Lily, Alice, Frank, Dorcas and Fabian, who were all dancing already.
Josi looked apologizing at Sirius, who just nodded at her, so she followed Gideon onto the large dance floor, which laid in the middle of the room.
Just when they reached Marlene, the music switched and a new song came on.
It was a Muggle band that Lily had showed her when she visited the girl in the Holidays two years ago, since then she was addicted.
The group of friends continued dancing as they sang along loudly. It felt like they were dancing for hours before Josi finally sat down onto the couch, catching her breath.
At some point in-between that she had to try holding back a completely drunk James from confessing his undying love for Lily, again.
It was always like that when her twin was drinking, first he would get hyperactive, then sentimental and at some point you would find James sleeping on the floor in a random corner, snoring like a bear.
The girl sighed deeply and looked at the clock as she listened to the fire in the fireplace. It was already half past two and most of the people had gone to bed, but she wasn't even tired.
James fell asleep on the couch next to her and Remus laid in the chair, snoring loudly next to her brother.
Josephine stared into the fire for a while, listening to their snoring, before she slowly stood up and made her way upstairs into her dorm.
Marlene and Lily were sleeping peacefully in their bed's and Alice was probably with Frank doing Merlin knows what, she didn't even wanna know.
Josephine carefully tiptoed through the room, trying to not wake the others as she grabbed her jacked and quickly left the Gryffindor tower.
REACHING THE Astronomy tower Josi climbed up the small stairs, but as the Potter girl had reached the top, she saw a silhouette of a boy, who was already sitting at the edge of the tower, looking up into the dark sky.
The girl tried to move backwards but the stairs made a loud noise, catching boys attention.
The silhouette eyed her for a small moment and Josi smiled forced as she slowly straightened up.
"You don't want to jump, I hope?",
she questioned carefully, before she entered the large platform as well.
"Not today", the boy answered shortly, chuckling to himself a little drunk, still looking at the sky as she walked towards him.
When the brunette sat down beside him, feeling a little weird before she finally realised who it was. It was no other than Sirius Black himself.
"What are you doing out here, Black?", she immediately questioned, while looking at his side profile.
She narrowed her eyes as they scanned over his face. Sirius really had the typical Black features, the sharp jawline, the stormy grey eyes and the wild black hair.
"I could ask you the same", he looked at her smirking, pulling her out of her daze.
The brunette looked up at the sky before she answered him quietly, "I like nights like this, you can see every single Star— It's really, beautiful."
"Yes, indeed", Sirius agreed as he nodded his head, but he didn't looked at the stars, his gaze lingered on the brunette girl.
Josi looked back at him, a smile on her lips but Sirius immediately avoided her gaze by looking away. He cleared his throat awkwardly before his gaze moved back to the sky.
"Do you see this constellation?", he suddenly asked her while pointing at a couple of stars. She nodded her head firmly. "This is Sirius", he stated, a light smile on his face.
"I know", Josi smiled, proud that she new this, because actually she wasn't that good in Astronomy.
"Did you know that everyone in my Family is named after a Star constellation?", the boy asked her while he took out a cigarette of his pocket and lit it.
"Yes, that's what the Black Family is known for", Josephine told him, looking at his face. The boy pulled on his cigarette, "Yes, and for there pureblood Mania", he spatted out disgusted, hate filling his eyes.
Josi remained silent, not knowing what to say. Her Family was lovely, her Parents loved her and James with every part of there heart and we're always concerned about there well being.
That you couldn't say about Orion and Walburga Black, they were cold and very heartless people and as you can expect they raised their children without any kind of love.
No wonder that Sirius couldn't handle feelings well, she thought to herself.
In that moment Sirius sighed from besides her, "When I think about going back home in the winter Holidays, I could throw myself down the tower."
He finished his cigarette before Josi spoke up, "Then don't."
The girl looked at the silhouette of the woods in the distance while she felt how the boy eyed her completely surpised.
"What?", Sirius questioned the girl irritated. She sighed before she looked at him as if it was obvious. "You could live with James and me. Our Parents love you already as if you were their second son", she shrugged as if it was not a big deal.
For a moment there was silence and for a small moment Sirius caught himself actually considering the offer. But at some point he slowly shook his head, "I can't. I can't leave Regulus alone in this house, he wouldn't survive without me."
Their was a long silence, before a small smile flickered across Sirius' face. "Your warming up to me, Potter", he said as he bumped his shoulder with her's.
"Shut up, and call me Josi, Sirius", she smiled making him abruptly stop in his trail.
"Did you just called me, Sirius?", he questioned the girl surprised. "Yes, I did, Black", she joked.
The boy was stunned, after all this year's she had finally called him by his name, to his face!
"Now come on, you Git, we are going back to the common room, it's getting really cold", she stated while standing up and wrapping her arms around her body before she walked back to the stairs.
The boy had a bright smile on his face as he stood up as well, his hands in his jeans pockets as he followed her back to the Gryffindor tower.
As they arrived at the common room, the fat Lady was very angry that they woke her up to get in, she rammbeled something about her beauty sleep but Josi didn't really listened to her.
The fire was still burning as they entered the common room and Remus and James were sleeping peacefully.
Sirius and Josi looked at each other, chuckling by the sight of drool on James chin and Remus loud snore.
"That's what I have to deal with every night", Sirius wispered to her, making the girl smile widely. "Stay here", Sirius told her before he ran up the stairs to the boys Domitory.
After a minute or two he came back with two duvets in his hand. He threw one at Josi, she catched it and covered Remus with it. Sirius did the same with James.
"Where is Peter?", the brunette girl asked him curiously. "He is upstairs sleeping peacefully in his own bed", Sirius assured her with a small smile.
The two looked at each other for a moment before Josie's look fell onto the clock again. "So, I guess I better be off", she said as she walked away from Remus and slowly approached the stairs.
Sirius did the same, his hands in his jeans pockets as he nodded his head at her.
The two walked the stairs up to their floor of their Domitory's and when Josephine wanted to round the corner to the corridor where the bedrooms where she heard Sirius quiet voice, "Josi?"
The girl turned back to him immediately as she raised her eyebrows and asked, "Yes, Sirius?"
The boy smiled sweetly, his hands still in his pockets, "Good night."
"Good night", she replied smiling as she looked one last time at the happy boy, before rounding the corner towards her room.
