CHAPTER FIVE !
↳ detention !

               JOSEPHINE HATED THIS october week, it was like someome had jinxed it to be the worse week of the whole year. The brunette couldn't find her quidditch uniform for training, it was raining all week and she got Detention.

Not to forget that she got Detention with no other than Sirius Black, who seemed to have made it his personal mission to annoy the crap out fo her the last couple days.

Josephine just rounded the corner and entered the corridor that lead to Slughorn's room as she spotted Sirius, who was leaning against the wall next to the high wooden door.

The boy turned his head into her direction, hearing her footsteps approache as a lazy smile made it's way onto his face. "Hello, love."

Joesphine crossed her arms over her chest as she shot him a glare, "Don't call me that, Black."

Sirius eyed the girl on his opposite with a large smirk on his lips, "I stop, when you stop calling me Black."

The two looked at each other for a long moment before the door of the potion class room swung open, revealing Professor Slughorn, who stepped out into the cold corridor.

"Good afternoon children", the Professor looked at them. "I've gotta to be off. There's some urgent business I need to attend to. Despite that you're still going to finish your detention."

He lead the two students into the Potion's classroom and they stopped in the middle. "Remember, there will be no using of spells, so you have to give me your wands before I go."

The two nodded at the man before the Professor continued his instructions, "The cleaning supplies are on my desk so you can get started."

Slughorn collected their wands and gave them one last look before he exit the room and let the door fall shut behind him.

Only now Josephine let her gaze wander toward the complete mess the two were supposed to a clean and saw that the whole wall was pitch black.

The brunette raised an eyebrow as they both eyed the sticky black substance, that must've been an exploding cauldron.

Sirius let out a loud sighed as he eyed the large wall, "That will be fun." The boy then slowly grabbed the cleaning supplies and handed a couple of them to Josie.

Their hands thouched for a brief moment and Josephine quickly looked away before she began to hesitantly clean the wall.

The two had been scrubbing for the past hour as they both sat onto the ground and took a break.

Josi's arms hurted like hell and she had absolutely no motivation to keep going.

"You know this would be way more fun if we would talk to each other", the dark haired boy suggested to her after a moment of long silence, making the girl look at him.

"About what? That my arms hurt like someone had tried to rip them off for the last hour?", the brunette questioned him as she rubbed with her hands over her arms.

A smug smirk appeared on Sirius face as he raised an eyebrow at her. "You really know how to talk dirty to me, Jo."

Josephine scoffed before she hit her towel against his chest, "Shut up!"

Sirius chuckled as he watched how she shook her head to herself, smiling.  

In that moment the door suddenly flew open, revealing Professor Slughorn, who stormed into the room.

He seemed deep in his own thoughts, his gaze wandering around the room and at last landing on Sirius and Josi,  who still sat on the floor, staring at him in surprise.

"Professor Slughorn, we were just—", the brunette tried to explain but the teacher waved them off quickly, "It's alright Ms. Potter. You were here long enough anyway, off you go. And take Mr. Black with you, please."

The brunette got quickly onto her feet and brushed the dirt off of her trousers before she motioned for Sirius to follow after her.

"Of course, sir. Have a good evening", the girl told the man as she placed the towel onto the table and walked out of the door, followed by Sirius.

As Sirius casually strolled down the dark corridor besides Josephine while he spoke up hesitantly, "How can you always be so well-behaved, always go by the rules, you know?"

He stuffed his hands into his pockets as Josi released an annoyed scoff and shot him a glare, "Why do you always think that everything is a joke?"

The boy gave her a questioning look as the girl raised her eyebrows. Suddenly his face expression changed to one of shock, "What do you mean? I'm always Sirius, always was, always will be."

Josephine rolled with her eyes before she tried to hide her smile as she thought about how stupid that joke had been. But Sirius smirked widely at her, not thinking about what came next out of his mouth, "I love your smile."

The brunette gluped surprised as she looked at him shocked. There was a weird silence as Sirius eyes widened. The boy quickly looked away from her as he shook his head to himself.

They fell silent once more and when the two had just reached the Gryffindor entrance, Josephine turned to face Sirius and smiled slightly at him, "Thank you." She was referring to his compliment from before and they both knew it while they smiled.

The two students looked at each other for a long moment and Josephine could feel her heart beating in her throat. Josephine noticed how Sirius stormy-grey eyes flickered down and laid on her lips, making her feel even more nervous.

The boy liked his lower lip while he continued to stare at hers. Josephine could only stare at his grey eyes, almost mesmerized by them. Was this the moment Sirius Black would be going to kiss her. The Sirius Black. Her brother's best friend, the school flirt and trouble maker.

But suddenly the portrait of the fat lady swung open, which made them both jump in surprise. Two fourth year boy's quickly hurried past them and down the corridor.

Josephine's eyes widened when she realized what had just happened hadn't they been interrupted and spun around before she hurried through the portrait hole.

                   AS SOON AS JOSEPHINE and Sirius had returned into the large common room they immediately spotted Lily, Marlene and the rest of the Marauders, sitting on the couch, that stood in front of the large fire place.

The two teenagers walked over and squeezed in-between their friends before they joined in on the discussion about the upcoming Helloween party.

"My Costume will be breathtaking", Marlene stated as she looked at Josi and Lily, who both exchanged an amused glance with each other. "I'm sure it will, Marls."

"Oh, I also want to establish some ground rules. No students of the first to four years, we don't want to explain to Professor McGonagall how those got drunk again", Josephine sighed as she rolled with her eyes and pointed at the other's.

Everyone agreed with her and the conversation continued until everyone had a conversation going on on their own.

They were all deep in their own worlds as Josephine sat silently on the couch, listening to her friends chattering and bickering.

At some point Lily turned towards her with a small smirk playing on her lips, "Do you have a date for the party, Jo?"

Josi snapped out of her daze before she shot the redhead a dark look and shook her head, "No, I do not. Do you?"

The redhead frowned at her immediately, "I thought someone would've asked you out by now, and no I do not either."

The brunette Potter girl let out a laugh before she leaned her head onto Lily's shoulder, "You're sweet, Lil's. Thank you."

Suddenly Marlene joined their conversation, again. "I need your help guys. I want to go with Dorcas, but I think she's going with Fabian."

Josephine shrugged as she leaned back against the couch and looked at her blond friend, "Just ask her."

"Yeah, Marlene just ask her", Sirius engaged in the conversation from the other side of the couch, not knowing what they were even talking about.

Just ignoring what Sirius had said Josephine continued her scentence, "I'm 100 percent sure that she will say yes, Marls."

The two girl looked at each other and Marlene smirked a bit as she suddenly jumped onto her feet, "Alright, I'm going to ask her."

The blond exhaled deeply before she quickly jogged up the stairs to the girls domitory's, not listening to the shouts of her confused friends. 

Josephine looked at Lily and Remus in surprised, "Well, I thought that it would take more to convince her."
