Here are even more noble houses for you to use for your OCs!

House of Wittelsbach-Bavaria

They are a German dynasty that branched off to other territories quite often. The House of Windsor is actually descended from them as well. They held the title of Kings of Bavaria, but in the time TWQ takes place they were only the Dukes of Bavaria. The Kingdom of Bavaria was created in 1855.

House of Piast

The House of Piast were first the Dukes of Poland, then later Kings of Poland. By the time of TWQ they no longer ruler Poland however. They did still hold the title of Dukes of Mazovia a historical region of today's Poland. Rulers you may have heard of are for example Bolesล‚aw the Bold, Casimir III the Great, Henryk II the Pious.

House of La Marck

They were a German noble family and the Dukes of Cleves. At the height of their power they held 4 duchies in total: Julich, Cleves, Berg and Guelders. Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, came from this house.

House of Medici

They were an Italian baking family and political dynasty. They first gathered under Cosimo de' Medici in the Republic of Florence and first half of the fifteenth century. In the second half they gained a lot of power. They produced four popes in total and two queens of France.

Honestly the Medicis are iconic and during the time of Edward IV's reign, they had their most interesting era (in my opinion) with Lorenzo the Magnificent taking power. In 1478 (the same year George was executed) the Pazzi conspiracy took place and that could be a very interesting plot to weave into your story as well.

House of Orsini

Yet another Italian noble family (there are lot on this list lmao). They were one of the most influential princely families in medieval and Renaissance Rome. They produced a total of five popes. They were Dukes of Gravina and Amalfi. They were also tied with the Medici family and that makes them automatically cool.

House of Della Rovere

An Italian noble family that held the title of Duke of Urbino. They also produced some popes, one of them was elected in 1471, around the time that Edward took the throne for the second time after the rebellion.

The meaning of their name is also literally "of the oak tree" and that's cool in and of itself.

House of Pazzi

An Italian noble family situated in Florence. Their main trade was banking. After the Pazziย  conspiracy in 1478, many members were banished from the city and their family was confiscated, their coat of arms and family name was officially suppressed. A total of three known members were executed after the conspiracy failed.

It would be a very dramatic plot to include in my opinion.

House of Sforza

An Italian noble family situated in Milan. They were dukes of Milan and extremely influential in their time. I don't have much to say for them tbh because at the time of TWQ they were relatively new house (being founded in 1411) and they didn't have much history. I just know they produced the icon that is Caterina Sforza so.

House of Habsburg

I don't think anyone has to be told anything about them. They ruled a major part of Europe and held the title of Holy Roman Emperor, Emperor of Austria and many MANY more. They were one of the most prominent dynasty in Europe.

Emperor Maximilian I had large ties to the House of York through his marriage to Marie of Burgundy, the step-daughter of Margaret of York.
