𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗘𝗧 moments between breaths, Katia Aguilar found herself face to face with death. It wasn't an eerie encounter but a meeting with an old acquaintance she hadn't seen in a long while.

The funny thing about death, is that you truly don't know what it feels like until you encounter it yourself. Each person's tale varies. Some speak of a brilliant light guiding them toward the unknown, while others mention an endless void swallowing them whole.

For Katia, however, death had become something she'd been anticipating for a while.

As she balanced on the edge between life and death, the air filled with a soft hum of voices. She couldn't make out what they were saying exactly, but somehow she knew. She knew that her siblings were begging for her to stay, as her friend's softly cried.

As Katia stood at the edge, the mysterious feeling of anticipating death filled the air. The big question in her mind – should she go forward into the unknown or step back? But if she turned back, what would happen? Could she face him, look him in the eyes, and do what needed to be done? Was she strong enough for that?

The answer seemed like a hesitant no. But, maybe, just not feeling strong enough wasn't enough of a reason to leave.

Moving forward seemed tempting, going with an old friend to a place that her late father was and her fallen friend's waited for her, a place that only promised only peace.

Deciding between life and death, between what she knew and what she didn't, became more intense as time passed. Yet, Katia made her choice (or maybe the Fates had already woven it into her destiny long before).

And so, with a final breath Katia had made her decision.

She was going to—
