PROLOUGE
DAMN SHE COULD KICK!

"IWA-CHANNNNN... Are we almost there? My feet are already killing me!" A whine came out of the brunette captain as the two highschoolers strolled along the compact streets of Miyagi.

The sounds of the engine machines and loud honks of the vehicles passed through the busy road. The yells of vendors usher potential customers as they pass by with their phones by their ears. The sun was peaking up high as its light reflects on the shops' windows, bouncing off in all directions.

It was currently a Saturday. The weekend that could entice anyone to go out and mainly have fun with their friends and family. Oikawa, on the other hand, would usually babysit his cute nephew. But luckily for him, he had other plans with his best friend, Iwaizumi. Of course, Takeru wanted to join the two but the captain told the little one that the place they were going in was 'too far' for him to walk.

Although Iwaizumi didn't give out any details about their destination, he did only mention that it was just a major tournament and their school team will compete in it. Oikawa didn't give any thought about it at all and quickly agreed to the ace's request.

Iwaizumi let out a light scoff at his friend's complaints, frowning in the slightest as he clicked his tongue. "We're almost there. So I don't wanna hear any complaints coming out of your mouth anymore Shittykawa." He grumbled out, starting to get irritated from the male's complaints as the two continued their walk towards their awaited place.

"Iwa-chan... You never told me that we're going to a place like this..."

"Eh? I don't have to tell you everything. It's just a normal tournament anyways."

"BUT IT'S A TAEKWONDO TOURNAMENT! THE ATHLETES HERE ARE FREAKISHLY TALL AND SCARY!" The brunette cried out as he burst out to his friend, flailing his arms aimlessly like a madman.

This gained the attention of some passers-by as they distanced themselves away from the weirdo who's waving his arms around comically.

Iwaizumi punched the back of his friend's head, earning a loud groan out of the captain's mouth. "Idiot! Not all taekwondo athletes are like that! You were never afraid of those huge middle blockers, so why get scared now?" He scolded the male and pinched his ear, dragging him towards the entrance doors of the court.

After a few minutes of painful whining coming from the volleyball captain, the two males finally arrived inside the gymnasium. Mattings were covering the court floor to avoid any injuries from their athletes. Monitors were set up in each of the matches as it displays the scoring systems. The sounds of kick-pads clapping in all directions mix in with the loud cheers coming from the audience. The two could hear the booming shouts coming from the players down the court like they were trying to intimidate each other through their thunderous roars.

But the one who got intimidated by this is Oikawa Tooru himself.

Oikawa followed Iwaizumi behind as they walked through the bleachers of the gymnasium, bumping into people's shoulders and even almost spilling a drink on a player's dobok. He would often glance at some of the sparring matches and flinch whenever he watches someone's head getting kicked or beaten up like a training dummy.

His ears then perked up when he heard a feminine cry—his attention moving over to the source of that shout. His hazel eyes scanned around the crowded court and soon landed on a tall H/C-haired female who was currently in a match.

She was wearing red armor that was covering her torso while her messy bun was out of her red headgear. She had that intense look on her E/C eyes that could intimidate any opponent if she needed to. Oikawa could even feel the menacing aura emitting from the taekwondo player as she stood on the mats. A brave warrior. That's what he thought when he first laid his eyes on her fighting form.

Even if the girl's ardent expression may scare anyone, Oikawa couldn't look away. He was at awe, keeping his eyes on the girl's every move as she successfully kicked her opponent on their blue armor. He has never felt so captivated over someone until now. The way her voice peaks up whenever she shouts, the way her eyes glint in excitement when she scores a point. Everything about her fascinated the brunette.

Everything about her intrigued him.

The timer buzzed out, signaling that it was already the end of the match. Oikawa glimpsed at the monitor that showcased the scores and widened his eyes at the results. '24-10?' The captain was at a loss for words as his eyes went back to the female in astonishment.

Her deadpan expression didn't break even after her glorious victory, but there was this blazing spark of joy in her eyes that Oikawa noticed as she bowed to her opponent. She then turned to her coach, striding over to him, and took the tumbler from his hands. His eyes watched her lips plant on the tip of her bottle as she took a long sip on it.

How he wished he could exchange places with that water bottle right now.

"Hey Y/N!"

Oikawa's moment of gawking was soon cut off by his friend's shout, noticing the girl that he was fawning over was now blankly staring at his best friend. "Congrats on winning the gold medal!" Iwaizumi smiled and gave the tall female a thumbs up.

The brunette faced the dark-haired male with shock written all over his face. His mouth went agape as his eyes widened ever so largely. Oikawa rushed over to Iwaizumi and held his shoulders, starting to shake the poor guy rapidly. "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT GIRL? WHY IS SHE TALKING TO YOU INSTEAD OF M— OUCH!" He abruptly stopped when he felt a fist punched the top of his head, letting out a groan as he cursed incoherently.

Iwaizumi glared at Oikawa, his friendly smile before was now replaced with a scowl. "You don't need to shake me like I'm some kind of ragdoll Trashykawa!" He barked and clicked his tongue, rolling his eyes at the captain's action. "Y/N's just a friend of mine. She attends Seijoh and is currently the captain of our taekwondo team. Oh yeah, she's also my neighbour." The male explained, almost jumping in his spot when Oikawa leaned his body towards him.

"WHAT?! How come I've never seen her in the hallways?" The brunette gripped on his friend's arms tightly as he shook him once again.

"It's because your fangirls keep on bombarding you every single day. She's also in Class 2, so you don't cross paths with each other a lot." Iwaizumi grumbled out and finally had enough of the male's shaking. "And I told you not to SHAKE ME!" He karate-chopped the setter's head, not caring if he hurt the male badly.

Oikawa moaned out in pain, pouting his lips as he rubbed his head. An idea popped in the captain's mind as he smiled mischievously to himself. He shuffled over to Iwaizumi and started to nudge his side with his elbow, sending him his infamous charming smile. "Iwa-chan~... Can you pretty please share me her number~." The brunette cooed out.

Iwaizumi stared at his best friend in suspicion, his eyes squinting slightly before letting out a light scoff. "Why would I even give you Y/N's number?" The dark brunette cocked his brow as he crossed his arms.

"Then... how about her Instagram?"
