Chapter Twenty Five

Serena's P.O.V.

It was nice to be back in the hotel room, and I was happy that everything was cleared up with Aidan and me. When I talked to him before we went to sleep, I started to feel comfortable with him again. The awkwardness wasn't as awkward. And I started to consider getting back together with him by the time my birthday came.

As I slept, I couldn't help but think about my parents. When they were alive, they used to host big birthday parties for me. They would hire their close friends to entertain the guests, and my mother used to make delicious birthday cakes. The last birthday cake she ever made was a red velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting. The words "Happy 15th Birthday Serena!" were spelled out in red frosting. After the car accident, All I got was a day of doing extra chores. No one in the house even bothered to say Happy Birthday. No cake, no presents, no party, nothing.

The only thing I got that day was that burner phone Vanessa gave to me. After the Gallagher's began to take care of me, they got me an iPhone, but I still kept the burner phone because it brought back the memories of when I watched Aidan's live streams. The next morning, we slept in for a little bit because he didn't have to go to the studio until around 10:00.

At the studio, I got everything set up in Aidan's trailer. Almost all of my songs for the concert were ready. The only I had to do was finish the other song I wrote about Aidan. Like Without Him, I wanted it to be kept as a surprise until the night of the concert. Just thinking about it made me giddy. And from the comments I was getting on Instagram, everyone was just as excited.

SereneCinderella: Don't forget to purchase your tickets for my concert at The Rockpile in Toronto this Friday! It's going to be a blast!

It warmed my heart to see all the support I was getting. I was so happy that all of The Umbrella Academy cast supported me and my singing. So much so that it brought happy tears to my eyes. "Are you crying?" Aidan asked, bringing me out of my thoughts. "I'm fine, just overwhelmed with the support," I sniffled, wiping away the tears. "You deserve it all, Serena," He smiled before walking towards the set. Almost immediately after he left, the door opened, and Cameron had shown up again.

Inside, I was worried that Aidan would find out he was in here again, but at the same time, I didn't worry because of our current status. "How's the little superstar?" Cameron smiled, sitting down next to me. "Good, just finishing up one of my other songs," I smiled. "Could I hear it?" My heart dropped in my chest. I couldn't play the song I wrote about Aidan because I had a hunch that he had something more to say about it. So instead, I played one of my completed works.

By the time I was done, Cameron had a funny look on his face. I wasn't talking about a laugh-out-loud look. It was more of a funny smell look. "Your going to sing that song on Friday, aren't you?" He asked, pointing to the small stack of scattered papers on the coffee table. Out of the corner of my eye, I knew what song he was talking about. The newest one about Aidan. "Look, Aidan didn't cheat on me. Eden forced herself onto him," I clarified once again. Cameron just shook his head, denying what I had just said.

"He's going to hurt you again, Serena, and frankly, I don't trust him," He whispered, loud enough for me to hear. "You don't know that," I said, irritation on the edge of my voice. Cameron let out a sigh before he stood up and went to the bathroom, shutting the door. I sighed before plucking the strings of my guitar, humming one of my songs. A small ding went off, and it made me look up.

At first, I wanted to ignore it, but after another ring, I got curious and saw two new messages appear on Cameron's phone. I looked at the bathroom door, still closed. I thought it wouldn't hurt to peek. I turned on the phone. Surprisingly, Cameron didn't a password, and it immediately opened to a conversation with Eden. I scrolled to the beginning so I could have a little more insight, and what I read shook me to my core.

Eden

So, are Aidan and Serena back together?

She says they're taking it slow.

That still gives us enough time to keep them apart.

I want Aidan, and I know you want Serena. Am I wrong?

No, I want to grab a slice of that Serena pie and make her my girlfriend.

If you want her, you better convince her Aidan is a bad person. Otherwise, you won't stand a chance.

I will. Don't worry.

You have two new messages from Eden!

Eden: So, did you talk to her yet?

Eden: Hello? Am I talking to myself?

My heart pounded, and I shook my head, hoping that what I had read was something completely different, but unfortunately, it wasn't, and the messages remained. The guy who I had thought was my friend had conspired with one of my worst enemies in a pact to make Aidan and I's relationship hell.

I looked up to see Cameron was watching me. My mouth opened, but the words would not come out. I stuttered for a moment as I tried to collect my words until finally, they came out.

"What. The. Actual. Fuck?"
