Chapter One

Serena's P.O.V.

During that car ride to the hotel, I texted Vanessa and Ethan, telling them that we had landed safely. I had a feeling that they weren't going to respond until later, given that we were a few hours ahead of LA. But it was a shot anyway. The car came to a stop in front of a hotel that was about six stories, and we grabbed our stuff and headed to the lobby, thanking the driver as we got out.

"I've never stayed at a hotel like this before!" I said to Aidan as we went up the small flight of concrete stairs. "Well, now you can cross 'stay at a fancy hotel' off your bucket list," Aidan smiled. I loved his sense of humor. He always knew how to make me laugh whenever I felt down or whenever I needed a joke. We checked in, and took the elevator to the top floor, and walked down the long hallway to the last door on the left.

My jaw dropped as we unlocked the door and stepped inside. No words could describe how I was feeling in that moment. Usually, my parents and I would stay at a cheap but decent motel on vacation, but the room we were staying in was nothing compared to that.

"Wow, this place looks nice!" I said as I sat down my suitcase near one of the sofas. "We couldn't get a room with two separate beds for you guys, so you'll have to share a bed. Please, keep your hands to yourself," Mrs. Gallagher explained. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aidan roll his eyes. His cheeks turned a light pink. He was embarrassed. "Don't worry, Mom. We're not going to do anything," he promised.

Aidan's parents went to their bedroom and began unpacking, while Aidan and I went to the other bedroom and got unpacked as well. "It's a shame I couldn't bring my guitar," I sighed as I put my clothes in one of the empty dresser drawers. "Don't worry. Our guitars will be shipped out in a few days. So, you won't be totally disconnected from music," Aidan said. Well, that's a relief. A few days before the flight, I had started working on another song. It talked briefly about what I went through at Aunt Mary's. But, also talked a little about Aidan. And I had a feeling that he was going to like it because of some of the cheesy lyrics.

When I put the final pieces of my clothing in the drawers, I felt Aidan wrap his arms around me and pull me closer to him. "I'm glad I'm here with you," I said, looking over at him as he rested his head on my shoulder. "Me too," he whispered. Suddenly, I felt him lift me off the ground and carry me across the room. "Where are you taking me?" I chuckled. We approached the bed, and he let go of me, and we sat down together. "Okay, remember what I told you on the plane about how I got you something?" he asked. I nodded, and he dug into his pocket and pulled out a bulky rectangle box.

"It's not what you think," he said with a smile on his face. I knew what he was talking about, and boy was I glad he cleared it up. I carefully opened the box, and my breath hitched in my throat when I saw the contents. It was a beautiful silver chained necklace with a heart-shaped locket that had the message "AG + SW" engraved.

"There's a photo inside," he said, as I looked up at him with so much love. I carefully opened it and saw the picture that he had put inside was a photo of us on stage at The theater kissing at the end of my song. I had a feeling that people were taking pictures, but I didn't know that Aidan was going to use that specific picture. But, I still loved it.

"Aidan, it's beautiful. I love it," I smiled, embracing him and running a hand through his soft hair. When we pulled apart, he helped me put on the necklace, and we looked at the photo together. I looked into his beautiful green eyes, and he looked back into mine. He was so perfect, and I was so lucky to be dating an actor and a singer. We slowly leaned in closer and closer until our lips met. My hands cupped his face, and we made the kiss last for a few moments before we heard the footsteps of Aidan's parents approach our room.

"Hey, Aidan, Serena. We're going to Panera to get lunch," Mr. Gallagher's head poked into the room. "Okay, Dad. We'll be out in a minute. I just have to get my shoes on," Aidan said, looking in his direction. When Aidan's dad took his head out of the room, Aidan and I glanced at each other and started chuckling, loud enough so only we could hear. "Okay, one more kiss," he said. I nodded, and we pecked each other's lips before we got off the bed and got ready to leave.
