Before long, the bell rang and, of course, C made it his mission to accompany you in the hallway. He even took your bag so he can carry it for you. You told him it wasn't needed, since you didn't really have much in there but he wouldn't budge.
You were quick to learn that walking in the hallway with C also meant stopping to say hi to everyone he knew, which was quite literally everyone. From the quiet, band kids to the loud athletes. You sigh, "C I have to get to class."
"And ?"
"And you stopping to talk to everyone and their momma is gonna make me late." You were looking down at the schedule you saved on your phone, trying to see if the room number on your screen matched up to the one on the doors you were passing.
"Relax..What class do you have next anyway ?"
You silently held the phone a little closer to his face, so he could see for himself. "Hm. Well your class is right ahead but-"
"But what ?"
"We got a few classes together. Gym, lunch, and last period. Oh and you're a teacher's assistant in my seventh."
(a/n : this school is going to have eight periods. idk if y'all have that many but... that's how much I have )
"We have a few classes together," you corrected him. "And there's no way."
"Why ? You don't think I'm smart enough ?" he teased.
You didn't want to say it out loud but honestly, no. Gym and lunch were understandable since they usually kept the same grade together for those two classes. You didn't think C was going to be the type of person in advanced chemistry, which was a class you were in together. Then again you didn't think he was a speech and debate kind of person so it was correct to say he was full of surprises. "You want me to be honest ?"
"No because regardless, we'll be seeing a bunch of each other."
You roll your eyes. "I suppose so." You removed yourself from under his arm and gently take your bag off of his shoulder. "Well this is me. See ya'." Not really thinking that there was much more to say, you started walking into your second period class.
"Woah wait !" You turned, waiting for him to say what he wanted. "What about a kiss for the road ?"
Your eyes lowered, glaring at him. "Bye C."
With that, you went into your class and took a seat. This period went by like a breeze and since you had two free periods, thanks to your senior privilege, you could've left school and came back in time for your next one, which was gym. Instead, you and JuJu decided to spend it in the library, helping out the new librarian JuJu had a crush on. So when JuJu heard that the library was looking for a few helpers during third period, it didn't take a lot of convincing for him to get you on board.
Mostly because he convinced you after he already signed the two of you up.
You didn't mind that much though because watching how he flirted was kind of entertaining for you. Plus you didn't have anything better to do. The librarian was a college student and since JuJu was 18, he already decided that him and this man were destined to be. The man looked like he had the skater aesthetic to him. His skin was tan and had a few scattered tattoos on his face. (think Dominic Fike ya'll) And to top it all off he had a silver septum piercing. You didn't think he was JuJu's type since his track record included "street" dudes but you didn't say anything, assuming he finally decided to upgrade from the guys he was messing with.
You met JuJu at the doors of the library before going in. The two of you walked inside, and went straight to the librarian's desk, to both put your things down and check in with him. "Hi. How can I help you guys ?"
And somehow someway, JuJu froze. Yeah the same loud mouth JuJu you knew and loved, actually froze, when talking to a boy. "We're the new volunteers. I'm (y/n) and this is Judah-"
"But you can call me JuJu. Everyone calls me JuJu."
"Right. Okay. You guys can put your stuff here and I'll show you the basics. Sound good ?" the man smiled, taking the bag from JuJu's hand as you put your own down. After, he led the both of you behind the large desk where there was a cart of books and a small table with two chairs. "Today we'll just go through these and sort them by genre. Tomorrow we can actually put them back on shelves."
"Damn this many books already ?"
The librarian sighed deeply. "Yup kids have been dropping off their books today. Guess they had them all summer." He then pulled up one more chair and took a seat, while the two of you sat yourselves down in the two chairs that were already there. Before long, you guys started the process and started stamping certain books and sorting them. "So what made you guys want to help out ?"
"Well Mister-" JuJu began to answer.
"Please just call me Zen. My name tag is just my government that I had to use to get the job."
"Oh. Well Zen, we had this period off so we figured why not."
Without much time, JuJu and Zen indulged themselves in conversation. You on the other hand, just sat silently and listened to them converse. Throughout them talking, JuJu got more and more comfortable. It was kinda like they were on a date and you were third wheeling after a while. The only time you talked was when you were telling JuJu it was time to go to the next period. To which he responded with a small sigh of sadness and followed you out of the library, after saying bye to Zen of course. Well not really bye for the day. JuJu would be coming back for lunch, which was weird to you considering how JuJu really valued his lunch time.
"I think he's the one," JuJu said.
"Bitch snap out of it. This isn't like you at all," you respond, chuckling.
"Maybe you don't understand. You're young. You've never been in love but I'm grown and I know he's the one."
You suck your teeth as you approach your locker, where Bryson was waiting, so that the both of you could get your clothes to change for gym. From there, they went to the boys' locker room and you went into the girls to change into the gym uniform. For girls it was a pair of red volleyball shorts and a grey and red t shirt with a faded out print of the school's mascot.
"There you are. I thought you were gonna skip," Mikasa called from where her, Sasha, Ymir, and Historia were changing.
"Last time I skipped gym was like.. freshman year," you laughed, slipping off your dress and putting the uniform on.
"So that private school must've set you straight," Ymir teased.
"No," you roll your eyes. "It's just pointless."
"I might skip though. I haven't eaten since first period and I think it's getting to me," Sasha dramatically groaned, sliding down the locker room wall.
"Here," you dig around in your bag and toss her a small bag of hot fries. You were really carrying it around for you but part of you knew that Sasha did this damn near every thirty minutes, every day.
"Alright ladies. Clear out," the coach called. And with that the many girls in the locker room filed out and went into the gym. You, Mikasa, Ymir, Sasha, and Historia found your male friends and sat on the top of the bleachers. As usual, C was late but surely made his way up to the bleachers where you guys sat. Right next to you as a matter of fact, causing for you to be sandwiched between him and Eren.
For today's class, you guys would be playing volleyball. It would be two girl teams against each other and two boy teams. Whoever won those games would go against each other next class. The girls would play first since the gym wasn't that big to facilitate two games at once. The coach gave the girls a minute or so to decide who the teams and captains. You were on a team with Mikasa, Ymir, Sasha, and Historia and a few other girls. On the other team, was a bunch of girls you didn't really know and Mariah and her friend.
The game started and for long enough, it was a nice clean game. Your team was winning by only a few points and everyone seemed to be a good sport. Keyword is : seemed. There was a moment, when you and Ymir made a friendly wager. She said that if you could successfully get a point off of spiking the ball, she would give you five dollars. And it's not like you needed the five dollars, but you would still be up five dollars. So, you agreed. With that, Ymir set the ball for you and you jumped up a spiked it, earning for different cheers and laughs from the guys, especially C.
Now thinking back, if it wasn't for C's laughter, what happened next probably wouldn't have transpired. Once the ball landed, earning you guys a point, you and Ymir laughed.
The coach then figured that it was enough for today and wanted to get the boy's game done today. So, the girls started to head back to the stands. You and your teammates were laughing and talking on the way.
However the laughter was cut short when you heard the words, "fuckin' bitch" on the way back to your seat. You quickly whipped your head to where Mariah was standing right in front of you.
"Excuse me ?"
"You heard me. Why'd you do that shit ?"
"Were we not playing volleyball ?" you asked sarcastically.
"Well watch it next time."
Skrrt.
You wouldn't consider yourself a hothead. Not even a little. You were definitely the least confrontational person in your group of friends. If anything you were the one to break up fights. However, you never, and I mean never, took kindly to disrespect or someone trying to punk you. And even though you had this goody two shoes reputation, you weren't going to hesitate to talk back.
"I don't gotta watch shit." Your voice didn't go into a yelling volume. It stayed in a normal talking one but somehow it caused for people to stop.
"You do."
"What's gonna happen if I don't ?"
"You fuckin' him. Aren't you ?"
"Bitch what ?"
Delusional.
"You're fuckin' C and that's why he's been all around you. But I wanna know why. Is it for his drugs, money ?"
"Imma pretend you didn't say that," was all you responded with before she pretended to walk past you, bumping you on the way up the bleachers. Your immediate reaction was to turn back around to face her and shove her. It was hard enough to the point where she fell back, tripping and falling.
Was it the best route ? Maybe not. But do you care ? Not at all. If the two of you arguing didn't get attention the loud noise from the bleachers definitely did. On top of that, Sasha didn't hesitate to scoop you up over her shoulder. "I just wanna talk," was all you kept saying over and over.
And then with that, the gym teacher cut today's gym class short. Ymir didn't let you go all the way to the locker room until she was sure that you were already calmed down. After, you went back out into the gym, hoping that Mariah was still out there but she was nowhere to be found. Lucky for her.
"Girl what the fuck happened ?" JuJu asked rushing up to you, along with your other friends and C following behind him.
"What happened is that bitch was trying to start shit with (y/n)," Mikasa answered for you, since you were too annoyed to talk.
"Unt un. You need to get your hoes in check before i do it for you," JuJu glared at C.
"Yeah this is like the second time she's done that," Sasha added. Usually she would stay out of whatever affairs C had with girls but since you and her were friends, she had a few things to say.
The bell then rang. You didn't have anything to say so you went about the rest of your day. By lunch, you definitely calmed down. You talked with everyone at your table except for C. And it wasn't like it was because you didn't want to. He just felt so guilty;ty that you're going through this with a because of him, and the two of you weren't even dating. Let alone talking to each other.

It was now the end of the day. Well not really. But it was now time for last period. The teacher assistant gig was pretty easy, given that it was your first day. And up until that period, you wouldn't have known that it was in fact a Spanish class you were going to be helping out in. You didn't mind though.
Once again somehow, someway, C found his way back to you. But you were in no mood to talk to him. "Hey," he spoke. You remained silent. He slung his arm around you but you quickly slapped it off. "Oh come on."
"C ever since I've spoken my very first word to you, bitches have targeted me. And I dunno nor do I care what you lies you told these girls but I'm not finna be one of them."
You thought that this would be enough for him to get the hint and give up. Right ?
Wrong ? Actually you couldn't be any more wrong.
"Look I'm sorry, okay ?" He stepped in front of you to stop you from continuing to walk and ignore him. "I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you."
"JuJu and Bryson just don't need anymore weed right now and I don't wanna have sex with you," you answer bluntly.
"Yet. Anyways that's not what I meant. Let me take you out to dinner or something."
"Is that supposed to be a reward ?"
"You can pick the place and we'll think of it as a date."
"But I thought you don't do dates."
"And I don't-"
"So then why-"
"But for you I'd make that exception."
You sighed and decided that you would only do it to get a free meal and maybe, just maybe have some fun. "If I say yes can we get to class so that we're not late ?"
He didn't say anything. Only held out his hand for you to take, which you didn't hold and walked alongside him to your next period.
Of course since you guys were the last ones in the class, you and C sat in the back lab station.
That period also went by like a breeze, except for the fact that C was talking your head off about all the possible places he would take you as soon as the bell rung. He didn't even want you to go home and get ready, telling you that you were beautiful now, which of course wasn't a lie.
He was certain about how he wanted the night to go. Only thing he wasn't positive about was what this date would lead to.
