-Kerensa Ayla Silo-

the darkness is
ancient and unseen

the dark is
the end

and the beginning
of all creation

||Name||
Kerensa Ayla Silo

||Nickname||
Kera

||Age||
25

||Faceclaim||
Ann Kuleshova

||Sexuality||
Bisexual

||Faction||
Vampire

||Clothing||
Kerensa wears whatever she feels is most likely to appease the person she's trying to gain permission from to feed on. Suede pumps and a cable knit sweater for the professor who lives on the corner. Fishnets and bralette for the werewolf woman who likes a dance before a feed. Leather jacket and eyeliner for the siren who has a thing for badass chicks. Her clothes are just another tool she utilises to get what she wants. What she needs. Though, when no one else is around, and it's just her alone in her house, she has to admit her favourite clothes are pyjamas. The cotton ones that are too long for her legs and have faded star patterns around the waist. A relic of a life she had a long time ago.

||Personality||
Kerensa was not a born seductress. No. Whilst some are gifted by the gods with quick tongues and effortless allure, Kera was all edges and laughter that rang a little too loud. Her words were always just a little too blunt, her jokes just slightly too close to the truth. Lying and Kera were not friends at all. But life has a way of shaping people into who they need to be to survive, and the Kerensa that lives and breathes nowadays is a very different person indeed.

The value of seduction when your life depends on it becomes rather apparent to a newly turned vampire with very limited social skills. Blood has to be given willingly, and very few people will just let a vampire take whatever they want. And so Kera learnt the value of becoming someone else. It took her years, but eventually she could just about suss out what people needed, and found a way to become it. Whether it was loneliness or boredom or desire they suffered from, she slipped into the role that needed playing and let her instincts take over. Whilst this can be incredibly effective, she has found it to be a little hit or miss. People are more perceptive than anyone gives them credit for, and one chink in the charade sends them reeling back with suspicion. Needless to say she is a rather cautious person. She prefers to watch and gather information before jumping into a situation, and this is both an asset and a downfall. Being prepared is never a bad thing, but overly cautious is a phrase that describes Kera all too well. The fear of being blindsided like she was when she was younger holds her back from rash decisions, and it's safe to say there is never a sentence that leaves her mouth without it being thought through first. But what about the real Kerensa? Well, she is a bit of a wreck. When Kera isn't in control of herself- like when she's been drinking or hasn't slept- her anger starts to rear it's unpleasant head. Her ugly, self-pitiful, indiscriminate anger. All the cherry picked words fly out the window, leaving only every thought she tries so desperately to cram inside her head. Though if you were to meet Kerensa as Kerensa- no ploy, no acting, no anger- then you'd find a mildly sarcastic but oh so forgiving girl. Kera knows that the moment she starts to slip, she'll be helpless against whoever wishes to seduce her. After all, it's hard to fight you greatest desire. To feel safe.

||Brief Background||
(Or not-so-brief background, sorry 😬)
Kerensa was not born a vampire. No. She was born a witch. Her parents had little money, but a surplus of love for their daughter, and for the first 15 years of her life, Kera walked in the daylight without fear and spent the nights huddled under the blankets, safe from the bloodsuckers that roamed. The issue arrived when teenage rebellion started weaving its way through the cracks in their relationship. Kera's parents were overly scared of the world and what it could do to their precious girl, and they tried everything to get Kera to be as scared of it as they were. Unfortunately for them, Kerensa didn't take their worrying as love, but oppression. And one night, she snuck out her window as the moon rose high in the sky. Full of the Adrenalin of rebellion, she crept into the darkness, gaining confidence with every step. That was until the darkness was all she could see. Blind and scared, she suddenly found herself falling into a ditch she hadn't noticed, her ankle twisting painfully in the process. She couldn't move, couldn't scream, just sat there and sobbed as the stars twinkled blissfully unaware above her. That was when Val found her. A 17 year old vampire with black hair and blue eyes and a smile made to melt hearts. He helped her out of the ditch, and took her home where he helped her bandage her ankle. Kera had never met a vampire before, but she'd heard the tales of the night roaming tricksters that weren't to be trusted. Her parents had been the ones to tell her them. And so, still fuelled by that need for freedom, instead of approaching the situation with caution, she jumped right in without caring where she fell. They met up every night after that. He told her tales about how his father was cruel and his mother uncaring, and listened as Kera told him everything she felt and feared. They became entwined with each other, soul in soul, and within a month she was letting him feed off her. They continued like this for 3 years, until Kera was 18. It was then that she tried to break things off. You see, whilst Val was asleep and the sun shone upon the land, Kera had fallen in love with another. A girl made of honey and glitter and sunlight. But when Kera finally told Val that things had to end, he became upset. It felt like a betrayal to him, after all the time they'd spent together. Kera was the only one he had who didn't hurt him, and here she was, breaking his heart. Kerensa tried to reassure him that she wasn't going to leave him completely, that the friendship they had could remain even if the romance and the feeding was ending. But in the end, her words weren't enough. Val bit her and turned her, his last ditched attempt to get her to stay his forever. She watched him get executed the next day. After being turned, Kera left home. She couldn't bare to face her parents, nor the girl she loved. She let the night swallow her up, and has been on the move ever since. But she is finally tired of the darkness, and when she heard of the selection, she couldn't help but think: 'what do I have to lose?'. After all, she spends her life seducing people now. It seems only fair to try and seduce the top of the food chain, besides, she gets to spend a few days living in luxury even if she loses. That hardly seems like a loss.

||Enemy Faction||
It's safe to say that Kerensa has no positive feelings towards any faction, not even her own. Sirens are lethal with their lilting melodies that remove all thought and reason from one's head. Werwolves are fanatic royalists who have a tendency to scorn violently any vampire that comes near. Even witches, her old faction, aren't perfect. They're the easiest to get blood from, but the magic she once understood like a second skin is now wielded against her every so often. And vampires. Well. Kerensa understands what they are, what she is. Parasites. Weapons with honey covered tongues. She makes a point of never trusting a vampire. Not again.

||Thoughts About Hybrids||
Hybrids, a mixture of all the factions. There is no love lost towards them, that's for sure. All Kerensa can think of when one says the word 'hybrid' is 'abomination'. A horrific mass of interbreeding that's resulted in what can only be described as terrifying. As if the factions on their own weren't bad enough. Needless to say, Kerensa would be keeping her distance at all costs if she didn't have other goals in mind.

||Thoughts About The Royals||
Self proclaimed gods. In some ways, she respects them. They rule the land with an iron fist, and no discretion goes unpunished. They demand justice. Blood for blood. That is something Kerensa understands. The balance. However, they are also ruthless. All the worst parts of every faction shoved into one mould. She is half scared they'll kill her on the spot for some discretion or another, but only time will tell if her concerns are well-founded.

||Confidence||
Kerensa is confident in her abilities to an extent, but also recognises the challenge the selection will pose. The victims of this seduction are not your typical people. They're royals. Hybrids. Undeceivable and all powerful. There is a very high chance they'll take one look at her and know everything she is thinking. But if there is one trait Kerensa doesn't lack, it's determination. She's going to try her best to get as far as she can in this selection, even if it's only to prove to herself that she can.
