Nomi can be described mainly by one word, and that's disciplined. Her focus and ability to stay alert at all times is rather unparalleled. She knows when she's got a job to do, and will do anything to achieve it. She doesn't take kindly to people getting in her way. With a mind for strategy and soaking up knowledge, she is able to think quickly on her feet, and often is confident in her decisions. That being said, Nomi finds herself feeling on edge a lot of the time, as if something bad's about to happen. Trying to find threats in the crowd is one of her main go-tos when the feeling arises, and it is a habit she has adopted into her personal life. Often she distrusts people, trying to find reasons why they might be a danger to herself or her family. This can make her cold and distant at times, which makes it reasonably hard to get to know her. Though, when she feels relatively comfortable around people, she has a rather quick sense of humour, enjoying verbal sparring with those she considers her equal. It keeps her engaged, and she much prefers that to boredom. She often cracks sly jokes, half-veiled insults as teasing remarks. It sometimes offends, but Nomi doesn't really care. Back home, it doesn't matter who she offends, but in the selection, she's going to need to keep a tighter leash on her tongue. Another thing about Nomi is her undying loyalty to those she trusts. Once she has decided you're not going to stab her in the back, she is so quick to become protective. It makes her rather easy to manipulate, because once she believes you to be a friend, it takes quite a lot to convince her otherwise.

||Not-So-Brief History||
(So I had a lot of inspiration and accidentally wrote a rather long backstory, sorry! It's summarised underneath if you don't wanna read it all!)
Ahh, the mysterious land of Buyan. The kingdom that lies at the most northern point of the new world, where the land is almost always cold and dark. That's what people know of it, but the Kingdom has walled themselves off from the rest of the new world, leaving most simply guessing at what goes on inside. Well, here's the answer.
The current Queen of Buyan, official title 'Her Royal Highness, Queen Raina Nyilas of Buyan', had three children. The father of these children is undisclosed and irrelevant, which is because the ruling system is different in Buyan. There's a whole hierarchy and set of rules that we won't get into right now, but the simple basis is that a Queen rules alone, and any spouse has no official power regardless of matrimony. A Queen can chose never to take a spouse if she so desires, and that is rather normal. And that is what Queen Raina decided to do.
The Queen was a cold but powerful woman, who had a mind for strategy and a plan for every occasion. She was ruthless, as a ruler had to be when ruling over a land as harsh as Buyan, but not cruel. She saw the point that went from A to B and would do anything to achieve it, no matter the cost, but she didn't delight in pain. The struggles of the world she was all too familiar with, and knew that any Queen after her would need all the tools necessary to not only keep Buyan united, but also to navigate the treacherous new world. And so, when presented with three daughters, she put a plan in place.
The Eldest was to be the heir. She was taught the ways of being a queen, and everything that entailed. She was taught poise and power, how to wrap a room around her finger and demand respect. She was taught how to navigate negotiations and master diplomacy. How to make decisions that no one should have to make. The Youngest, she was to be the peacekeeper, the one to strengthen alliances through marriage. She was taught how to curtesy and smile politely, how to partake in conversations and make them so engaging no one would ever want to stop talking to her. The Queen built her to be the perfect little princess that the world would expect her to be, so that when the time came, she could go to Avalon and participate in the selection.
Then there was the Middle child. Nomi. Whilst her older sister was learning the ways of a ruler, and her younger sister the ways to a man's heart, Nomi was learning how to be a General. In Buyan, Queen's often have a second in command, a General, to help support them through their reign. They were the ones who were really feared. The ones who oversaw armies, and handled the dirty side of being a royal. The executions, the protection of the Queen through any means necessary. They were masters of strategy and combat, of knowing exactly how to defeat their enemies via any means necessary. If the Queen of Buyan was the pillar that held up justice and order in their Kingdom, the General was the dark shadow looming over her shoulder to remind people what would happen if they tried to cause trouble. A warning. And that is what Nomi was to be. Still a princess, but a General too.
The trining and preparation for all three daughters was brutal and tough, pushing them all to their limits everyday, but they did it gladly for their kingdom. For their Mother. The four were very close, despite the pressure on them all that inevitably came from being a royal.
Then the news of the Avalon Selection hit Buyan, and everything turned into a flurry of dress-preparation and last minute lessons for the Youngest daughter. But two weeks before the selection, the Youngest daughter fell ill, so badly so that the physicians weren't sure she was going to make it. Thankfully, she pulled through, but it became clear that she wouldn't be able to leave her bed for a very long time, the damage from the illness too severe. This was something the Queen hadn't planned for. She needed to send someone to the Selection, but she couldn't send her Youngest, due to the illness, nor her Eldest, since she was the heir. That left Nomi.
And so, it is Nomi who will be attending the selection. Which she feels is a very very bad idea, but it doesn't seem she has a choice. She's doing it for her kingdom, for her family. And she is terrified she's going to let them all down.
||Brief History||
The Queen of Buyan had three daughters. The Eldest was trained to be Queen when the time came, the Youngest was trained to be selection-material to eventually score a marriage for an alliance with some other kingdom. And the Middle, Nomi, was trained to be the General, a second-in-command position for the queen who basically controls the armies and does the dirty work for the Queen. Unfortunately, 2 weeks before the selection, the Youngest daughter fell ill, and so Nomi is being sent to the selection in her place.
||Thoughts on the Empire||
If Nomi is being completely honest, then she's not a fan of the Empire. The Kingdoms each have their own royalty, but all answer to The High Emperor? Yeah, that doesn't sit right with her. She's seen her Mother fight to keep her Kingdom safe and united under the harsh climate it suffers, a climate which very few other Kingdoms understand. Why should a pansy Emperor in the south have a say over what should happen in Buyan? He doesn't know what it's like to live in the dark and the cold, praying for sun to shine so any crops can grow. What it feels like to wrap up in a million layers before going outside because if you don't, you might freeze to death. It just doesn't seem fair to her, though she's in no place to change it. She's not even the heir, for goodness' sake.
||Thoughts on the Selecting Princes||
Honestly, she's only ever heard about them. Buyan isn't very keen on diplomatic meetings, so Nomi has never left her Kingdom before. Though, she's not sure it matters what they're like. She hates the fact she is in the selection, but she is going to try her damned hardest to win it. To get betrothed to one of them and make her family proud. Keep them safe. It is her only goal. She just hopes that the princes are interesting and not assholes, because she's not sure how she's going to deal with them if they are.
||Thoughts on the Other Selected||
Competition. That's what she sees them as. Threats. Everything her mother had been preparing her for involved finding the things that prevented her goals and destroying them. Obviously she can't do that with the selected, but she is going to keep an eye on them. Perhaps... perhaps she could make a friend or two. She's never really had any, outside of her family. Maybe it would be nice to have someone to send letters to occasionally.
||Family||
•Mother ~ Raina Nyilas•
Nomi respects her mother, a great deal more than most daughters respect their mothers. Despite the brutal training Nomi has endured since the day she was born, she knows that her mother is just ensuring the future of their kingdom, and she's honoured to be a part of that. She loves her dearly, and strives to make her proud.
•Older Sister ~ Larin Nyilas•
Larin is Nomi's 22-year-old sister, and Nomi would lay down her life for her. That is her role, after all. She's her sister's general, and that means being loyal to her to a fault. That is something Nomi has mastered. If Larin asked her to do anything, she would agree. It could be murder or execution and Nomi would simply get out her sword. She is very protective of her, and hates that she has to leave her side for the selection.
•Younger Sister ~ Caila Nyilas•
Caila is Nomi's 18-year-old sister, whom Nomi loves with all her heart. She was worried sick when Caila got sick, though now part of her is angry at her younger sister. She knows it's not her fault that she got ill, and it's an awful thing to feel, but she can't help it. It was always supposed to be Caila who went to the selection, not Nomi, and she hates it.
||Aesthetics||
TBA because I can't make collages rn, but will be able to in a few days
||Theme Song||
Aimed to Kill ~ Jade Le Mac
||Quotes||
'I have 100 problems,
and you're causing about 99 of them'
'Dancing? That's... not really my
strong suit'
'I could knock you on your ass
with one punch if I wanted'
||Outfits||
Maybe I'll add some later if I'm in the mood <3
||Tattoos and Piercings||
In Buyan, tattooing is a fairly common practice and most people have at least one, and Nomi is no exception. She has a large tattoo all the way down her back, same as her two sisters, which signifies her loyalty to her bloodline and family.
She has another tattoo in the middle of her chest, which is a traditional tattoo for General's to have in Buyan. She added the roses though, just for fun.
She doesn't have any piercings
||Scars||
Training to be a General isn't an easy feat, and Nomi has many a scar to prove it. None of them are particularly big, though, so not particularly noticeable.
||Extra||
None that I can think of right now :)
