The very simple fact that explains almost all of Dani's behaviour is this: she gave up caring about most things a long time ago. Not in the sense of 'oh what's the point in life', more in the 'nothing matters and therefore I can do whatever the fûck I want' kind of way. People's reactions to her words and actions are irrelevant to her now, she lives for herself and herself alone. Most of her life is spent seeking out excitement, something to chase away the boredom that eats away at her, and she'll do almost anything to achieve that. Getting herself into precarious predicaments because of reckless behaviour is one of her trademarks. On a whole, she is outspoken and can joke around with anyone, always up for anything fun that will make her feel free. She can be sarcastic at times, and occasionally offends people with her attitude, but she's unlikely to apologise. That being said, when she cares for someone, she is very quick to become loyal to them. Easily manipulated is an understatement, because as soon as someone gives her an inch of affection, she feels indebted to them. She tries to keep her distance with people because of it, but often fails. She's a bit of a mess, to put it simply. There is also a part of her that's never quite content, never settled down enough to be happy. She wants more, which she knows is bad because she's got everything she needs. Her father, a home, a job she loves. But some part of her isn't satisfied, and she'll be damned if she spends the rest of her life waiting for something to make her feel whole. She's going to go and find it, whatever I takes.

||Backstory||
Once, about 25 years ago, a werewolf called Kal met a werewolf called Elle, and they fell in love. It was gorgeous and fast and filled them both up with so much joy, so much so that they swore never to leave each other's sides as long as they both did live. Unfortunately for them, her parents didn't approve, since he was a 5, and she was a 3, so they decided to run away together. It took them a while to find anywhere to live, since no one wanted to take in a young couple with no money and few skills, but somehow they ended up at a travelling circus, and both got accepted in. Kal started off with fire breathing and stage acts, whilst Elle helped with the administration and running of the circus. After a while, Kal worked his way up and became the owner of the circus, a life which suited them both well. Then Elle got pregnant, and nine months later, Daniella DeGuard was born. Elle died minutes later. Kal was distraught at losing his precious wife, but vowed to look after his daughter to the best of his abilities. Dani grew up living and breathing the circus life. The performers and animal handlers and workers were her family, and they raised her mainly as a collective. It was with them that she learnt how to do all sorts of tricks and talents. She was helping sell tickets by 8, feeding and cleaning the animals by 11, and performing on stage by 13. Riding the horses in front of the audience was always fun, and she could breath fire like a pro, but her one great passion was the tightrope. She spent hours mastering it, falling off into the safety net more times than she could count. But after a while, she could walk it confidently, and that's her main role in the show nowadays. Her father was always rather protective of his only daughter, which made Dani feel suffocated sometimes. Like she couldn't take a breath without him being there making sure she was okay. She used to care so much what he thought, that he knew she was safe, but after a while she got tired of it. Now, she does what she wants and doesn't care about the consequences. Her father gets mad about it sometimes, but she's an adult and there's nothing he can do about it. They do get along well most of the time though, which is why she joined the selection when he asked her to. Their life was good, but hard and often without a lot of money. He hoped the selection would change that, and so she agreed to go. It also gave her a chance to properly explore and try something new. The circus is all she's ever known. This selection? It's an adventure and a half, that's for sure.
