13. Uoy Tsurt I
I'm sorry, I suck at updating-
This is basically part two to Eno On Tsurt
WARNING: 3500+ words and Yandere (Y/n)
(I swear it's not what you think it is-)
————————————————————————
I froze, my eyes widening in realization.
I glanced up at...'Eugene' saying, "Guys...I...I think I know what eno on tsurt means..."
It felt like someone whispered in my ear...
~.~.~.~
-(Y/n)'s POV-
"...Someone's a liar..."
I could feel a shiver run down my spine.
Glancing away from this...'Eugene', I could see the confusion plastered on my friends faces.
"Really?!" Varian asked, his eyes lighting up, "Is it...some sort of code? Or, or! Is it an ancient language?"
I frowned, shaking my head at the alchemist. "No, it's neither of those..."
Lance lifted a brow, "Well then what is it-"
"It means trust no one..."
The cave fell silent.
Not only because of what it meant but also because...I wasn't the one who answered the question.
...It was 'Eugene'...
I stared at the ex-thief intently. As I caught sight of his gaze, I noticed that his usual bright, egotistical, sarcasm was gone. It was like...he was lifeless...fake even.
"Yeah..." I muttered, carefully choosing my words, "How'd you know?"
"I..." 'Eugene' was silent for a second before he answered, "When I went to check out whatever you saw, I stumbled upon this temple. In the middle of the room was a locked cage with the third page inside. I-I tried going towards it but some...figure pushed me away. It's face was disfigured and it was mumbling a soft chant. It starting attacking me and before I landed here it yelled, 'Trust no one...'"
My gaze softened and my suspicion lowered. He didn't seem like he was lying...
Varian lifted a brow, obviously skeptical, "How do we know you aren't lying? The poem says not to trust anyone and YOU ran off..." he turned to face us, "I'm sorry, but it sounds way too suspicious not to bring it up..."
Cassandra agreed with the statement, "The kid's right. We have no clue what actually happened when you were away."
I saw Lance nod his head while my sister frowned. She loved Eugene and trusted him with her life.
I was about to look away until her eyes met with mine. She smiled instantly, "How about we let (Y/n) decide, she was right about following the rocks so I'm sure that she'll make the right choice."
A small smile made it's way onto my face. I glanced towards Eugene, seeing his emotionless eyes staring back at me. I gulped.
My brain was telling me that something wasn't right, that force was telling me that something wasn't right. It said he just couldn't be trusted...
.
.
But something in my heart believed him.
.
.
"I trust him!" I declared, a sudden confidence rushing over me.
I saw a slight smirk appear on Eugene's face. Was I wrong? N-no I couldn't be...even if he was a fake how could he look identical to the Eugene from before? This HAD to be him.
"Princess..." Varian mumbled, "Are you sure? I-"
"Yeah..." I interrupted, "Yeah, I'm sure..." I haven't been wrong before so I can't be wrong now...right?...right?
Cassandra sighed, "Fine, if you say he's okay then I guess we can trust him," I saw her turn around and grab Eugene by the collar, "But I've got my eyes on you..."
Eugene stared lifelessly at her, "Let's get going."
Cassandra huffed, dropping Eugene from her grip. Eugene led us towards the temple...but a thought in the back of my mind wondered...
Was I making a mistake?
Time Skip brought to you by: JULY THREE BABY!
As we followed Eugene towards the temple I tried distracting my mind with my surroundings. The dark, dreary cave fell silent, the only sound I could hear was the soft footsteps and the dripping water from the walls.
Eugene stood in the front, Rapunzel by his side. Behind me was Cassandra and Lance, making sure to keep their guards up. Unlike them, I had full trust in Eugene, knowing him for at least six months.
I looked over to the side, seeing Varian lost in his own world. I watched at he looked around cautiously. He still didn't quite trust Eugene either.
Varian's eyes scanned the cave, looking towards the rocks, the walls, floor, until they landed on me. I lifted a brow as I watched a small red glow appear on his cheeks. Was he...blushing?
I let out a quiet giggle, causing his blush to grow. It's funny how a small glance could catch him so off guard. Is he really this embarrassed knowing someone was staring at him? (Ah, poor naïve, little (Y/n)...she gets it from Rapunzel-)
I smiled at him once more before focusing my attention to the task at hand. Eugene stopped suddenly causing the rest of us to freeze in our tracks. He looked to the side saying, "We're here, the temple I found is right around the corner."
Cassandra pulled out her sword, walking past Varian and I. She pointed the sword in front of her, "Then let's go get the page-"
"No!" my sister interrupted, slowly pushing the sword away, "We have to be careful, remember? Eugene said that there was something guarding the page, we can't just go in without a plan."
Cassandra huffed, pulling her weapon back. "I guess so..."
As we began thinking, Varian stepped forward pulling out a small notebook that he brought along with him. He turned to a page, pointing to the words scribbled onto it. "Good thing I already came up with a plan!" he smirked proudly.
Lance and I stared dumbfounded. "ALREADY?!" we yelled out simultaneously.
Varian nodded, going on to explain his surprisingly complex plan. "Well I was thinking that Cassandra and Lance could go in first since they're the strongest. If the figure is still there they can easily defend themselves." Cassandra and Lance nodded, happy to be known as the 'strongest'.
"Next, when the enemy is on the ground, Eugene and I can hold him down while Rapunzel swoops in and knocks the figure out." Rapunzel squealed, holding onto her frying pan.
"And finally, this is where you come in princess," Varian said gesturing to me, "You remove the cage the paper is held in and boom it's another successful victory for team awesome!!!"
Varian smiled, lifting his hand for Eugene to high-five. When the man didn't return the gesture the blue eyed boy let out an awkward smile, high-fiving himself.
I thought about the plan for a second, "But what if the figure retaliates?"
Varian shook me off, "It's six against one, even if it was strong we'd still be able to hold our ground, right?"
I nodded, agreeing to the plan. Rapunzel turned around, looking towards the temple, "Alright...on a count of three..."
Cassandra and Lance walked forward, pulling out their weapons.
"One..."
Varian looked towards me smiling. He winked, giving a thumbs up.
"Two..."
And Eugene...he stood next to the alchemist, his face stone cold. A shiver ran down my spine as my sister shouted out...
"THREE!"
Cassandra and Lance burst through the temple doors, yelling out a battle cry. I watched as Lance plopped onto the floor, letting out a small "ouch!"
I lifted a brow. The room was...empty.
Rapunzel, Varian and I all made eye contact, deciding to go explore the temple. As I stepped inside I felt a strange, unsettling chill in the air.
"Hello?" Rapunzel yelled out, her voice echoing through the large, circular room.
Cass rolled her eyes, placing her sword back in it's holder, "Thanks Raps, now you've given up our position."
"Sorry," my sister squeaked. She walked around inspecting the room, "Anyway, let's hurry and find the page, the figure could still be around here!"
As everyone split up to look for the page something pulled me forwards into the middle of the room. It was that force again.
I looked up noticing six large statues in the middle of the temple. As I stepped closer I noticed a few strange symbols imprinted on three of them. A sun, moon and star.
"What the?" I thought aloud, catching Varian's attention.
He walked beside me, his head tilted to the side, "What is it princess?"
I pointed towards the strange symbols, unable to say a word. Varian glared at the statues, trying to get a better look at them.
"Whoa..." he mumbled, pulling out his notebook and scribbling down some notes.
I looked around, my glance drifted from the symbols to a large, imprinted quote above the statues.
My eyes widened as I stumbling back. There imprinted on the wall were the very words I heard from before...
Trust no one.
A knot built up in my throat. Does this mean that I...
"Varian, I...I think that I was- GAH!"
I felt a sharp, pointed object swing by me.
I looked down seeing a large, silver sword had pinned my dress onto the wall, making me unable to move.
A dark, familiar chuckle filled my ears.
"Sorry little miss princess, I tried to warn you..." I struggled trying to get the sword out from the wall, "But it looks like your friends were wrong to ever have faith in you. Your pathetic little 'future vision' was wrong. All you did was mess up everything like you always have..."
I glanced up, seeing Eugene, a proud smirk on his face.
I froze...
Eugene...the guy I believed in...
The person who I trusted with my life...our lives...
Was the person who put us all in danger.
"(Y/n), get behind me!" Varian yelled, pulling out a small dagger Lance handed him. He turned to the man, "E-Eugene what are you doing?! I thought we were friends!"
No...I was the one who put us all in danger...
"Ha, we were never friends..."
It's all my fault...
"What do you mean- w-what happened to you?! The Eugene I knew would never do something like this!"
I shook my head, focusing on the conversation in front of me. I watched in horror as five figures walked up from behind Eugene, their faces melted and unhuman.
I heard footsteps running towards us. I looked to the side seeing the rest of our group, weapons in hand. Lance nearly fainted when he saw the disfigured creatures behind him.
Varian glared at the man, seeing his smirk widen. Eugene's face morphed into a melted blob similar to the figures behind him. He chuckled, "I'm not Eugene, kid..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Lance yelled, "W-what are they doing?!"
I looked up, seeing the five figures morphing into...us?! They were exact replicas, face shape and all. They even held out the same weapons we brought.
I watched as Cassandra's double brought out her sword, swinging it towards my sister. A sudden clang was heard as Rapunzel blocking it with her frying pan, "Uh, guys...I think we need a new plan!"
Cassandra grunted, her sword clashing with the other's. "Divide and conquer?" she suggested, trying to knock her double down.
I nodded, successfully pulling the sword out from the wall, "Y-yeah, whatever you say..."
As everyone split up, I ran forward, fumbling with the sword in my hands. I watched as Rapunzel fought...Rapunzel, Varian fight Varian, Lance fight Lance and so on. I guess no one really knows you better than yourself.
I looked around the room helplessly. What do I do?
Is there some instructions I need to follow or do I rely on instinct?
And what if my instinct isn't good enough and I-
"MMMF!"
I glanced to the side, hearing a muffled yell.
"Eugene?!" I gasped. On the ground sat Eugene, the real Eugene, tried up to a large column. As I stepped forward a familiar voice caught me off guard. My voice...
"Aww sorry sweetie, but I can't have you letting out our prized prisoner now can I?" she sung, giggling like a maniac. (Yandere (Y/n) alert-)
She looked...so much like me. She wore the same shoulder less dress, the same (h/c) hair, the same (e/c) eyes and yet...something was still off. Her eyes were filled with madness, craziness even. It was like an insane version of me...if I wasn't already kind of insane.
She leaped forward, swinging a two sharp daggers at me. It was like she already had tons of practice before. "What the heck?!" I yelled out, defending myself, "Last time I checked I wasn't this athletic!"
The girl laughed, her daggers nearly cutting into my skin, "It's because I'm not you sweetheart! I'm a better version of you!"
I stumbled to the side, struggling to keep myself balanced. I held onto my sword, pointing it straight at my opponent's neck. She smiled, unfazed by the sharp blade basically touching her throat.
"Haha! You think this hurts? You have no idea what I've been through..." I lifted a brow, confused by her words, "We've come all this way, we wasted all this time only to be cast into this cave by YOUR kind!"
She let out a loud maniacal laugh, forcefully shoving two daggers my way. My breath hitched as I stumbled back, hitting a small cage in the center of the room. I glared at her, my sword coming in contact with her weapon, "Are you crazy?! I don't even know you!"
My copy smiled, a small giggle coming out of her mouth, "Ohhh~ you may not know me, but I know everything about you! Absolutely everything !" she taunted.
She grabbed hold onto my arms, keeping me still, "We may as well be siblings! I know you way better than that pathetic girl you call a sister..." she laughed, glancing towards Rapunzel.
I winced, her fingernails seeping into my skin. "Y-you're crazy! Fucking insane!" I spat, struggling to get out of her grip, "What do you even want?!"
I watched as the craziness in her eyes slowly fade away as she stared at something from behind me...the cage. She was so caught off guard that she didn't even hear the rushing of footsteps beside her.
"(Y/n)! Move!" Rapunzel yelled out, pushing my double to the ground as I exhaled a breath I didn't know I had held in.
I watched helplessly as Rapunzel tangled my copy into her double's hair. She rushed over to me, "(Y/n)! Are you alright?!" she cried, embracing me in a hug.
I panted, my adrenaline slowing down, "Y-yeah, I'm fine..."
Glancing towards my double, I watched as her eyes shifted from a certain statue to the cage in the middle of the room. I lifted a brow. What...what is she doing?
It seemed as if Rapunzel had noticed as well because she backed away from the tight embrace and went off to check on the statue.
"Hey! Wait up!" I yelled, following her lead. As I started approaching it I could feel a strong pull grab my attention.
I glared at the stone statue, examining its features. It was a faceless girl, wearing a dark, spiky outfit, and strangely...she had small letters carved into her torso.
I eyed the letters, trying to create words, those words creating sentences until a whole poem was made...it sounded...familiar...
"(Y/n)..." my sister mumbled, "Have...have you ever heard of the healing incantation?"
I lifted a brow, sarcastically replying, "The healing incantation? Whattt no! It's not like you've sung it a million times whenever I get hurt or-"
"(Y/n), this is serious!" she said, turning to face me, "Do you know the tune of the song?"
I nodded, the tune replaying in my mind. Rapunzel smiled, her eyebrows furrowing slightly, "Now this might sound like a stretch, but I want you to sing this to the tune of the poem..."
"What-"
"(Y/n), listen to me!" she pleaded, "I...you to have faith in me...trust me..."
Her words slithered into my mind. Trust me..?
"But...but what if I screw up again?! What if you're not who you say you are and I'm wrong and...it'll be my fault and..." I stuttered, my self confidence rushing down the drain.
I looked up, making eye contact with the girl in front of me. Her eyes weren't lifeless and dull like the others, they...they were filled with worry and hope...
They were...Rapunzel...
"I...I trust you..."
I glanced at the words on the statue, keeping them locked up in my memory. I subconsciously started stepping closer to the middle of the circular room.
Remembering the lines, I began to chant...
"Stars that shine at night
Hidden from our sight
Let your anger flow
And...finally ignite
Finally...ignite..."
(It goes with the healing/hurt incantation instrumental just so you know ;) )
My eyes snapped open from the sudden click heard from the cage.
It was open, the third page laid inside.
Rapunzel shook my shoulders, pointing in awe.
"NO!"
I turned around, seeing who it was.
...My double...
Her eyes were filled with madness, hatred and...insanity..."NO! Y-you have no idea what you're doing!" she called out, "You don't deserve it! It's MINE!"
I glared at the copy, slowly retrieving the page from it's cage. I turned around when the double grabbed hold of my wrist.
"Listen sweetheart..." she giggled, "If you're gonna be the one to steal MY destiny I just want you to know one thing..."
My eyebrows furrowed, "What?"
She smiled a crazy, broken smile. "You know...I see myself in you. Young, naïve...oblivious to the dark, selfish world around me!" she laughed insanely, "But you're more powerful than you know!"
Was she...messing with me? What's her problem?
She continued on, "Like I said, I know you better than your own sibling and I also know that those pathetic friends of yours are only in your way! They're here to hold you back so that you feel useless..."
I glared at the copy. I couldn't believe that those words were coming out of someone who looked exactly like me. I turned to face her, "I trust my friends with my life! They're here to bring me up not tear me down! You have no idea what you're talking about..."
She shrugged innocently. "Whatever you say, it is your choice after all...and we all know how good you are at decision making..." I balled up my fists, denying her claims. She smirked seeing that her words had got to me.
"You can continue with your worthless life...or...you can become someone better, someone great, the perfect human being. I know that's what you want..." she finished, letting go of my wrist.
As I stared into her eyes it was like she had hypnotized me...like I was suffocating in her words...
.
"It's just a little advice from little old me. Advice from someone...
Just.
Like.
You..."
.
I was snapped out of my daze when I heard a loud, obnoxious, "THANK GOD!" in the distance.
It was Eugene...
I ran towards him, seeing what had happened.
Lance had untied him from the column, receiving a large hug from Eugene...if that really was him...
"Finally, someone decided to help me out!" he exclaimed, flailing his hands around, "And just to be clear no one can completely look like me. I'm Eugene Fitzherbert! The handsomest guy in Corona! And anyway, he got the nose wrong!"
Yep, that's the ACTUAL Eugene...
My eyes widened, remembering the rest of the doubles. I turned around, seeing I had nothing to worry about. 'Eugene' was knocked out, Varian had stuck his copy in some chemicals, and Lance and Cassandra's doubles were stuck to the wall.
As the rest of the group came closer to us Rapunzel and I stood our guard, not knowing if they were fake or not. I was about to interrogate them when a pair of scrawny hands picked me up in a tight hug.
"Princess" the person exclaimed, their hand making it's way onto my face, "What happened back there?! You were awesome!" I looked up, face flushing at who it was.
I covered my most likely red face only for him to move my hands away, "V-Varian what are you-"
"Are you hurt?" he asked, inspecting me for any injuries, "That double almost cut you!"
I looked down seeing fingernail marks from when she attacked me. "I-I'm fine, just a few scratches nothing too bad," I smiled.
"Awww! Look Blondie! Young love, they look just like us now don't they," Eugene smirked, a hand wrapped around Rapunzel's shoulders.
Varian and I, confused out of our minds, looked at the position we were in. His hands were wrapped around my torso, lifting me a few inches from the ground while our faces were almost inches apart.
Our eyes widened as we made sure to step away from each other. "Hahaha, what do you mean?" I asked innocently.
"Y-yeah, that's ridiculous!" Varian stuttered, averting his eyes away from me, "Let's j-just get going before these guys get out..." he pointed to the doubles around us.
"Alright~" Lance sang, "Whatever you say...lovebirds,"
As the others walked ahead of me I stayed behind looking at my copy. I felt a chill run up my spine seeing that she was staring straight at me. W-was she...was she looking at me this whole time?!
Her head tilted to the side, a bright, eerie smile on her face, "You heard what I said princess. It's your choice. Trust in me..."
I turned around, catching up to my friends. What's her problem? I shook my head, trying to ignore her words.
We exited the cave, hearing the soft splash of the waterfall. Varian took (H/n) by the reins (MAKING REDCOATS REDDER WITH BLOODSTAINS-), "Here princess, you should rest while I steer."
I looked away from him, the worriedness in his eyes was hard to say no to. "N-no Varian, I'm not that," I let out a yawn, "tired..."
The boy chuckled, helping me get on (H/n). I sat in the front while he was in the back, his arms wrapped around my form. "T-thanks Var..." I said sleepily.
I giggled seeing the red blush on Varian's cheeks as we rode off towards the campsite. My eyes fluttered shut as I drifted off to sleep.
Everything was perfect...
.
.
.
But nothing can be perfect for long...
.
.
.
Stars that shine at night
Hidden from our sight
Let your anger flow...
And finally ignite....
.
.
.
Trust...
.
In...
.
Me...
