FLUFF
THIRD PERSON
meiling was always an animal person. though she didn't have any childhood pets, there was always some type of animal at her friend's house. she begged and pleaded for her parents to get them a pet, any pet, but they still said no.
she had thought long and hard about which animal to get it, if she were to get one. she was already struggling to take care of herself, she had no idea how she was supposed to take care of another being.
but that didn't stop her. she spent hours researching what pet is best for her type of personality. she had finally landed on cats. she was happy with this. she was already a cat lover. there was always a special place in her heart for cats. even street cats.
there was only one more step left before she could actually go looking for one. though she debated on skipping it, she deemed it too risky.
"cheolie?" she called out through their apartment. it took a moment but she was greeted with a loud, "yeah?" instead of yelling out the entire conversation, meiling followed his voice and found him on the couch. he was mindlessly scrolling through his phone.
"what do you think about getting a sibling for kkuma?" he shrugged, "i mean, it doesn't bother me. she needs some company anyways. why?" she smiled, "i've been debating getting a cat." he smiled brightly. "really? that's great, my love. we'll have our own little family!"
she nodded along, slightly blushing. "yeah! anyways, i'm going to go look at breeds now. do you want to look with me?" he thought about it for a moment, "no, i want you to surprise me. like, i wanna come home one day and just see a cat in your arms. does that make sense?" she giggled, "yeah, okay," before she set off to her laptop.
she already had an idea in mind for what kind of cat she wanted. she wanted to continue the legacy of white dogs in seventeen, just with a cat. it was hard to differentiate each seventeen dog since they all looked relatively the same, so having a cat that would basically be attached to kkuma would make that aspect just a tiny bit easier for everyone.
it was also the fact that this cat and kkuma would look slightly related that made her fully decide on a white cat. she had every reason why she should, so she just did. though she struggled to find a pure white one, she stumbled upon a white-grey one. the cat was perfect.
she read more about the cat from the breeder's website. the cat was female and unnamed. she was pretty new and was really, really, cute. she knew that this would be the one. she would do anything under the sun ( maybe not anything ) to be able to own this cat.
she had big boba eyes, the cutest and smallest pink nose, tiny ears that stuck out, and the cutest paws. everything about her was perfect. she booked an appointment to meet her almost instantly.
she was so excited that the night before the appointment she barely got any sleep. she tossed and turned all night, anticipating the day to come. she had kept her deal with seungcheol, who had no idea she was even meeting the kitten.
she finally got some shut eye when she accidentally awoke her boyfriend. she felt bad about making him loose some sleep he so tirelessly worked for. she forced herself asleep.
meiling had never been that excited to wake up in the morning. she didn't take the extra ten minutes she normally would rolling around in bed. she got up, somehow before seungcheol, did her skincare and got dressed.
she was even in the middle of making breakfast when the man himself stumbled into the kitchen. he hugged her from behind, resting his head on her shoulder. "you're up early," he noted. she nodded, "i felt energized this morning."
he laughed, "oh really? even though it took you forever to fall asleep last night?" she rolled her eyes at his teasing remarks, "shut up, you're distracting me from making us an actually good meal. i'm tired of having old cereal."
"what are you making anyway? i've never seen that before." she gasped, "you've never seen rocky mountain toast?!" he shook his head no, insanely confused. "what did you just call it?" "rocky mountain toast," she repeated.
"that's not the real name," she laughed, "yes it is!" he rolled his eyes, pecking her cheek quickly before pulling away. "im going to get ready. wait for me to eat." she nodded and continued cooking.
she had just finished plating the food when her boyfriend returned. he sat down at the table with a fond smile, "thanks for making food. it's been a while since we've had an actual meal for breakfast." she agreed, "mhm. don't worry about it."
she was in the middle of washing dishes when she realized it was time for her to leave, to meet her future cat.
"shit, i have to go. seulgi-unnie's waiting on me. i told her we'd be going shopping today. i'm sorry cheolie." "don't worry about it, i'll finish up for you," he responded. she sighed, how did she get this lucky?
she quickly kissed him goodbye before rushing out the door. she didn't realize how fast she was walking until she got to the front door of the cat breeder's shop. she was a few minutes early but walked inside
they let her meet the cat early, and god, the meeting went amazing. she knew this cat was for her. the cat warmed up to her easily and she was already in love.
suddenly, the owner, the person meiling had set up the appointment with, gave her an option. she had the ability to take the cat home today and pay early. once the words came out of the owner's mouth, the girl was already saying yes.
she looked around the shop as it also had some cat supplied, like food, toys, cleaners, etc. she bought a bunch of stuff and payed for all of it along with the animal itself.
"what are you gonna name her?" she thought about it for a little, "xue. i'll name her xue." the owner smiled fondly, "what does that mean?" "it's means snow in my native language, chinese. she's relatively the same color as snow so i thought it would be fitting." the owner nodded, "it's beautiful!"
meiling opened the door to their apartment to find it empty. she let xue make herself comfortable, texting seungcheol to figure out where he was.
she heard the door unlock a few minutes later, and she felt her heart pound with excitement. "hi!" he greeted happily.
meiling held her hands behind her back, somehow managing to carefully hold onto xue out of seungcheol's eyesight.
"do you wanna see your gift?" she asked & he instantly nodded yes. she brought her hands around to reveal the tiny cat to him. she watched as his expression immediately softened.
"oh my gosh, it's so cute. aren't you such a cute one?" he started cooing, playing with the cat in meiling's hands. "her name is xue. meaning snow in chinese."
"it's beautiful! i'm literally in love with her. wait, i'm getting kkuma so they can meet!" she watched in adoration as he scrambled around the apartment to find the dog. he finally did, letting him on the floor.
surprisingly, they weren't too aggressive with each other. the cat and dog got along almost instantly. it was like it was made to be. seungcheol and meiling watched them on the couch. meiling rested her head on seungcheol's shoulder. the two really felt like proud parents.
