PURE FLUFF
FROM SEVENTEEN'S TIME DURING "IN THE SOOP" !
π². late night talks
the group of fourteen had finished their conversation over the fire shortly after seungkwan returned. almost all of them had left right after, getting ready for bed. but not meiling and seungcheol. they stayed under the starlight sky.
the fire in front of them continued to rage on, and it casted an orange glow on their faces. meiling curled up against seungcheol under the blanket he had brought outside. he wrapped his arms around her, and his touch sent sparks through her body.
she genuinely felt like time was slowing down in his embrace. she felt his heart beat through his shirt, and she resisted the urge to crack a smile. she had completely forgotten they were being filmed, and assumed seungcheol felt the same.
her eyes flicked from the bonfire to him, and he stared back at her. he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and sighed contentedly. she smiled, and he leaned in to press a quick kiss to her forehead. she blushed, embarrassed he still had this much of an effect on her.
a comfortable silence had fallen between them, and meiling felt herself start to doze off. she shook herself awake, slightly sitting up, but seungcheol pulled her back against his chest. she giggled, "so clingy."
"shut up," he mumbled, "i want to talk to you." she smiled softly, "what's on your mind, sweetheart?" he closed his eyes, a small sigh escaping his lips before he spoke. "i'm worried that i'm not good enough, and that i'm falling short of my own expectations for myself."
she felt her heart break at his words, though she could relate to them on some level. it was different when it was your lover. she wasn't sure what to say other than remind him of how talented he was. he was one-of-a-kind, who touched people with his words. she hoped he knew that. she hoped he knew that she would be his rock, too. forever.
seungcheol held onto every syllable she said, finding solace in her voice. she smiled softly as she felt his eyes on her. "what do you dream of doing?" he asks, in almost a whisper.
as she spoke about her future, he began weaving himself subconsciously into it. he suddenly realized that his love for her grew with each passing second. he suddenly realized that he was going to marry this girl. this was his "oh" moment.
he hasn't even realized he spoke until meiling spoke, "don't worry about supporting me, lovie. your presence alone brings me infinite joy. i know with you, i can do anything." he felt his heart swell, grateful to have meiling in his life.
as the night deepened, the couple found themselves sharing secrets they wouldn't dare let anyone else know. secrets from their childhoods that they tried to forget about but just couldn't. secrets you wouldn't even tell your best friend. but secrets you would tell your future husband.
it grew quiet once more, the wind howling. she felt her head get heavier and she knew she should get ready for bed. but she didn't. she wanted to stay in this moment forever. and to her luck, seungcheol had already fallen asleep. she wrapped the blanket around herself and the boy tighter, before shutting her eyes.
"i love you, goodnight." she whispered into his chest. the confession was obviously unnoticed, as the man himself was asleep, but she couldn't care less. she just needed to say it, and that was enough for her.
π²π². secret adventures
the moonlight shone bright, illuminating seungcheol's face. he offered his hand out to meiling, which she gladly took, but not without some hesitation. he dragged her out of the cabin-house-thing they were staying in, shushing her before she could ask any questions.
the elder brought her into the nearby forest, and he finally let her speak. "where are we going?" he just smiled, "don't worry about it." she cringed, "are you gonna kill me here? this is so creepy." he laughed, "you won't think it's so creepy in a minute, i promise."
she raised an eyebrow, and he suddenly got serious. "do you trust me?" well that was a stupid question. "no," she replied sarcastically, dragging out the 'o.' he couldn't help but let a laugh escape through his lips. "exactly. you'll see soon."
as they got deeper into the woods, meiling started to hear flowing water. she assumed she was just hearing things out of fear, because she was fucking terrified. nobody enjoys walking in the forest at night.
a few steps farther, and she realized she wasn't hearing things. there was flowing water, a waterfall. it was beautiful. in front of it was a picnic blanket. she realized seungcheol had planned this. she smiled at the realization, squeezing his hand in hers.
"i thought it'd be nice to get away from everyone for a little bit. have time to ourselves as a couple, you know? we don't get that a lot because of the cameras here." he didn't need to explain himself, his actions were enough for the girl to fall even more in love with him. she didn't know it was even possible.
"how'd you find this?" she spoke after staring at the waterfall in front of her for a bit too long. "i was out exploring one day and came across it. i thought of you. that i should bring you here." she had to turn away to cover her rosy cheeks. she didn't know what had gotten into her today, but every thing he said was affecting her. in the best way possible.
he giggled, knowing exactly what she was doing. "why are you so shy today? you weren't shy a week ago when-" she shut him up with a light slap to the shoulder. she rolled her eyes with a playful sigh, "you're so annoying," she whined.
"yeah, but you love me for it." she slightly smiled, averting his gaze. "that i do."
π²π²π². baking
for the first time in what felt forever, the kitchen was empty. normally at least one member would be taking something from the fridge, sitting down at the table, but when meiling walked in with her boyfriend, nobody was there. it was definitely a pleasant surprise.
hoshi had called her just minutes ago, begging and pleading for her to make him a cake. she would've said no, but she had nothing better to do. like the good girlfriend she is, she made seungcheol come and help her.
meiling only took out the pans and opened a packet of flour when the boy threw some at her. she laughed, resisting the urge to throw the egg she had in her hand at him. instead, she took some of the same flour and threw even more at him.
"okay, okay, we have to stop. we need flour for this to be a cake, we can't waste it all." the couple's baking was going quite well until the girl was tasked with mixing the batter. she "accidentally" splattered some onto seungcheol's face.
she heard him loudly gasp, rushing to find something to paint her face with. he found frosting they were going to use later, and took some of that. she giggled as the cold icing hit her nose, somehow happy to her dirty since she was with the boy.
they fought like that for a while, the two finally snapping out of it when they realized that they actually needed to make the cake.
before meiling could go back to the task at hand, seungcheol had already taken some of the batter icing off her nose with his finger and tasted it. she scrunched her eyes closed, "i feel like i'm in a netflix romcom."
his eyes widened as he let out a shocked laugh. "i was trying to be like the cute couples in the movies," he whined. she giggled, "i could tell. it's fine, you were cute." in any other circumstance, he would've accepted the compliment, but he rolled his eyes playfully this time.
when the cake was finally out in the oven, meiling felt her shoulders physically relax, knowing that she couldn't get into another food fight with her boyfriend. too lazy to go the table which felt like miles away, she lifted herself onto the counter and sat on the edge.
seungcheol, happy to be in her presence, stood between her legs. his arms were near her upper thighs, trapping her in. she began to play with his hair absentmindedly, ranting about anything that came to mind.
just as it grew quiet between the two, the timer indicating the cake was done went off. the couple scrambled to get it out, waiting for it to cool. though they were both impatient, it felt like minutes since they were together.
just as they finished putting on the finishing touches and took their first bites, meiling suddenly realized something. "hoshi!"
π²πΏ. bracelet making
after stealing Joshua's bracelet-making set, seungcheol had only one idea in mind. he grabbed meiling's hand and dragged her to a small corner in the "cabin" they were living in. it was too early in the morning for her to protest, so she just let him take her.
"what's all this?" she asked, sitting down at the table with the bracelet set. he sat across from her and shrugged, "i wanted to make bracelets with you." she mimicked him, upset he woke her up so early. though she wasn't really mad, she could never be mad at him for something as small as this. "aw, that's sweet." he rolled his eyes, "is a guy not allowed to hang out with his girlfriend?"
she giggled softly, reaching to take string. "my bracelet's gonna be better than yours," she challenged after tying the knot to start. "yeah, right," he replied sarcastically. "don't even act like we have competition. joshua and i make bracelets all the time, i have so much practice." he laughed, "just because you have practice, you're not any better. who knows, maybe i was just born with talent for bracelet-making."
their short-lived argument ended there, as the couple focused on making bracelets. she had unintentionally chosen red and white, seungcheol's favorite colors. she realized what she had done after starting it, and decided she would give the finished product to the boy. little did she know, he was planning the same thing.
it was mostly silent, besides from the occasional comment from meiling about how angry she was that one bead would just not get on the string ( she had to ask seungcheol to do it for her after a while, which he happily did ). otherwise, they were being quite peaceful. it was nice to be filmed but not have to entertain.
a few more minutes had gone by when the elder put his bracelet down with a triumphant, "i'm done!" she looked up from her almost-completed bracelet, doe-eyed. "really? ugh, i'm so close to finishing. wait, i'll be done in a minute." he smiled, "i wasn't planning on leaving."
she felt her face get hot, his gaze fixated on her. it amazed her that after all these years of dating, he was still so easily able to fluster her. despite his loving eyes on her, she pushed through and finally completed hers. she looked back at her boyfriend with a smile.
"give me your wrist," he asked. she watched as he delicately tied his mint and pink bracelet around her wrist. she wasn't being sarcastic this time when she said, "that's so sweet of you! i had the same idea." he chuckled softly, "really? oh, that's why it's red and white!"
she nodded, tying her bracelet around his wrist with the same amount of care. she admired how it looked on his hand, and felt a sense of love rush through her veins. she reached to hold his hand.
