𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 . . . seventeen's :: wang meiling

just earlier today, hybe announced that the only female member of seventeen, wang meiling, will finally be making her long-awaited solo debut.

within one day, we have gotten the concept photos as well as the date it will come out. her solo will consist of 6 tracks which she wrote and produced on her own: cologne, lovin' me, diamonds only, nonsense, 28 reasons, and action figure. there is also a special track, which only comes if you buy the digital version from weverse. although you won't get a physical album, you will receive a photocard, a postcard, and a letter from meiling. ( as well as the link to the full album, of course. ) the special track is titled: because i liked a boy.

cologne and nonsense are in english. while the title track, 28 reasons, as well as lovin' me, are in korean. finally, diamonds only and action figure are in chinese.

this is a great representation of how meiling has lived her life, moving to korea from china. she also stated that the english songs were just to help herself get better at the language, which she then decided to include in the album.

the name of the album is simply "wang meiling." there will be no physical copy, rather just a digital one with cover art. still, there are beautiful concept photos. here they are:

the album is to come out on february 28, 2022. meiling will be performing 28 reasons during music shows from the day of release until march 14. that's two full weeks of promotion!
