SAKURA GROANED AND ROLLED TO HER side, as she felt someone shaking her awake. "five more minutes," the girl grumbled. "no, noona! come on, i want you to come to the park with me." she recognized the voice as kamal's. "what time is it?" "it's uh, three."

she sat up and saw the youngers pleading face. "how can i say no to you? this better be worth it," with one last groan she got out of bed. "just let me get ready, kay? wait for me in the living room." kamal nodded and left.

once sakura was what she considered ready, the two walked to park at the ungodly hour of 3 in the morning. it was empty as expected but they didn't mind.

"wanna play hide and seek?" sakura suggested. "yes! let's play rock, paper, scissors, whoever wins is seeker." the boy answered. after a few rounds of rock, paper, scissors, kamal came out victorious.

once the younger started counting, sakura scurried off to her hiding spot which was up a tree, on one of the higher branches. did she plan this spot beforehand? of course she did.

she heard the boy say the trademark phrase and waited. and waited some more. until, she heard footsteps towards her. she looked down to see kamal staring right back up at her. "found you!" he laughed which made sakura laugh. once the japanese ( with some help ) got back on ground level, it was time for another round. this time, it would hide and seek tag, sakura being the seeker.

she counted to a minute. once said minute was over, she glanced over the entirety of the playground and didn't see a trace of him. "damn, he must be good at this game," she thought.

"kai~, come out, come out, wherever you are!" she yelled, searching the kid area. to sakuras luck, when she turned around, she spotted kamal running across the playground to a different spot.

"i found you!" she yelled, running after him. "not if you can't catch me first!!" the boy replied. he was fast, way too fast for his age. once the japanese finally caught up to the younger, they decided to take a break and head to the 7/11 across the street that was conveniently open 24/7.

they each got one ramen and a soda, getting weird looks from the cashier at the amount of calories and sodium they would be consuming in one sitting. they couldn't care less though, they were enjoying themselves.

they sat on a bench near the entrance of the park, eating their ramen. "thanks for coming with me, noona, i mean it." kamal suddenly says, breaking the silence. "oh, of course. i'm really enjoying myself so far, i'm glad i came." she replied. "that makes me happy to hear." the girl hummed in response to the boy.

once they both finished their food, they went to the public gym that was owned by the park, therefore it was an open space in the middle of the park, which also meant the two teens were able to use it whenever they wanted to, and however they wanted to.

they messed around with the equipment for a bit by doing challenges. ( who could stay in a pull-up the longest, who could do more sit-ups, who could lift the most weights, etc ).

so far, the challenges were tied 4-4 this being the tie-breaker round. "okay, do you have a challenge idea for my victory round? i think the loser has to pay for the next meal." kamal suggested as well as questioned. "as if! i'm totally gonna win, but yea i agree the loser should pay." "don't get your hopes up, kura-noona." she smiled at the nickname. "anyways, i do have a challenge in mind" she paused for suspense. "a long jump competition, if you don't want to do that it's totally fine, that was all that came to mind for me." "oh yeah let's totally do that!"

"grab a stick, and we'll put the stick where we land." kamal suggested, the older girl nodded and grabbed the stick closest to her.

kamal went first, he ran and jumped quite far. sakura let out an impressed noise and got ready for her jump. she took deep breaths, ran, and jumped. she landed maybe a centimeter in front of kamal, but a centimeter is a centimeter.

"i win? i win! you have to pay for my next meal! haha!" sakura teased, kamal stuck his tongue out as a rebuttal. "why is your tongue blue?" she asked, "i had laffy taffy." the boy answered. "you had laffy taffy and didn't give me?!" "well, i was going to but now i'm rethinking it." "i take it all back, i swear! i didn't mean to tease, i was just caught up in the moment." kamal laughed at her, "you should've seen the look on your face! chillax, i would give you one either way." sakura deadpanned at the boy and took the laffy taffy he offered.

"i think it's time to head back, yeah? or we could watch the sunset?" "we should watch the sunset, it will be so pretty!" "let's go to that mountain over there to get a better view?" kamal nodded at the idea and off the pair went.

they struggled to climb the mountain, but nonetheless they made it to the top. the two sat under a tree ( like the one in blue hour ) and waited, watching as the sky turned from a shade of blue to orange.

"have we really been her that long? i'm not tired at all." sakura commented, watching the sun peek out from a hill in front of them. kamal hummed in agreement. it wasn't often that they could do things like this, pretend like they were normal teenagers.

the girl pulled her phone out of her pant pocket ( normalize putting pockets in women's pants/skirts or just clothing in general !!! ) and took some photos some of the sunset, some of her, some of kai, some of them both, she was destroying her storage, but she didn't mind. she was content with what she was doing at the moment, and that's all that mattered to her.

it was around 6:40 and the sun was shining brightly. "do you wanna head back?" kamal asked, "no, let's stay here for a little bit more, pretend we're normal teenagers." the boy nodded at her response, it was nice feeling, like he was just any other boy on the street.

they laid in the grass for a bit, soaking in the sun while they could. as people started filing into the park, they decided now would be the best time to go.

on their way back, they stayed low, making sure to not get caught by any cameras. luckily, they got back to the dorm without being seen. the members were still not up, which was understandable. sakura felt like a bucket of sleep deprivation just fell on her.

"hey, uh, kamal?" the boy looked up at sakura as a response. "thanks for today, i really liked it. i'm glad i got to spend some time with you." "oh, of course, noona. we should do that again some time soon." she nodded. "well, i'll be heading to bed so i'm not a zombie during practice later today. see you later, and i love you!" as she walked back to her bedroom, she heard the younger call out "love you too!" and she smiled.

she laid in bed, in her pajamas once again, she let out a giggle, remembering how her whole adventure started. she decided from that day on, she would start giving things she thought she would never like, a chance.
