THIRD PERSON
JUNE 3, 2019

SAKURA WAS RUNNING FROM SOMEONE. who? she didn't know. she couldn't think. she was terrified. sakura was running out of breath. she slowed down her pace. the person chasing her caught up to her. fuck. sakura knew this wasn't good.Β

"sakura, i'll be watching you."

sakura groaned as she woke up from one of her frequent nightmares. the japanese girl glanced around her room to check for the time. 2:26 AM.

her feet slid across the cold, wood floor as she left the comfort of her room. she made sure none of the other members were up and went to get her comfort drink: coffee. well, she, at least, considered it a comfort drink. her members, however, did not.

"you're addicted, kura."
"please try to stop, we're worried for you."
"you need to stop, it's an addiction."
"it's getting in the way of performing, kura, and you love performing! why would you give that up for a drink?"

the words of her members rang in her head. was she really addicted? was it really getting in the way of her job? the young girl shrugged it off. she'd stop one day.

she quickly made a mug, as she brought it up to her lips, she heard the kitchen light snap on. sakura swiftly put the mug behind her and hoped that whoever came in didn't smell the coffee.

"what are you doing up so late?" soobin asked.
"just getting coffee, did i wake you up?" the girl asked. "no, i needed water. wait did you say coffee?" the other asked."what? no? haha." she replied, lying through her teeth.
"mhm.. what's that smell?"
"um, there's this uh, thing where it produces a coffee smell on water, and uh, yeah, i got because it's helping me recover from my addiction." "i see, can i get water? you're standing in front of the sink."

sakura panicked for a split second. he would find the mug and be disappointed in her.

"uh, the water is brown? yeah, brown. the landowners shut off the water and just got it back on." soobin nods, "you're lying."

"w-what? no! what makes you say that?"
"i can see a coffee mug behind you."
"curse that man and his stupid fucking height," she thought.

she moved to the side and watched the leaders face, he turned to her. "why?" she looking into his eyes, she didn't know what to say. the boy knelt down to her height, "why? sakura, why? this isn't good for you." "i don't know, soobin! i don't know!" her voice breaks, soobin wrapped his arms around her frame, pulling her into a hug.

she hesitantly hugs back, quickly pulling away. "there is a reason, soobin." sakura says, the older sends her a questioning look. "you don't have to tell me, but if you feel comfortable please do." she smiled and sighed. "i might as well tell you."

"ever since we debuted, i had reoccurring nightmares. they were relatively the same, sometimes it would be in a different setting but that doesn't matter. and-" he stops her. "would you mind telling me what said dreams were about?" she looks up into his worried eyes.

"the nightmares were normally about my friend in the adoption center. she," sakura sighed, "killed herself once i left. i've always felt it was my fault. and it is! if i were to just stay she would've been fine and alive but i-" soobin shushed her. "it wasn't your fault, sakura. if you don't want to, don't talk about the nightmare." she nodded, "normally the nightmares were like that, but today was different. this person, i don't know who, was chasing me. and i- i started losing breath so i had to slow down and the person caught up to me. the only thing the person said was 'sakura, i'm watching you,' and then i woke up."

"and after those nightmares i was always thirsty, i mistook hot chocolate for coffee out of tiredness the first night. but afterwards, i just always had coffee. and then when everyone was sending hate to me i just got so stressed and-" she cut herself off, she could hear her breathing escalate. she wanted to cry, just start sobbing, but she wouldn't allow herself.

soobin looked at the younger sympathetically. the group had gotten immense pressure and high expectations because of their seniors, and sakura had gotten even more pressure as well as hate.

after stopping to breathe, she continued. "and i turned to coffee because that was all i really knew. i didn't have anything else, soobin!" her voice got louder, she didn't mean for it too. after a while, she sighed. "i-i'm sorry for yelling, i'm going to go to bed now."

"sakura, wait!" he called out. she turned to face him. "please, let me help you, let me talk to you! i could even get a professional to come help. just please, let's talk." she sighed another time and sat at the kitchen table. he stared at her for a few seconds then started speaking.

by the end of his speech, sakura was bawling. she was so goddamn thankful for soobin. she didn't care how vulnerable she looked at the moment. soobin pulled her into a hug, letting the younger cry into his shoulder.

she pulled away after a bit and looked into his eyes.
"thank you, soobin."
