• Award Winner Interview •
Hello dear readers,
Welcome back to another episode of Zephyr Interviews, it's me Nehad_Forever back with another interview.
We have LyseaTales with us today, welcome to the interview!
Without any more late, let's get into the interview!
1) May we know a few words about yourself?
I am an optimist, an avid reader and a grammar nazi when it comes to writing.
2) That’s cool! When did you start writing either on this platform or the normal
way?
I started writing two months prior to joining Wattpad, somewhere around midSeptember last year and realized that it was quite a pleasure to jot down words andmake up different scenarios. So, that at last led me to sharing my work on theplatform.
3) What is your motivation to write?
I've always enjoyed literature and writing essays. And reading a lot did do some help. There's not much I need for motivation. Once I start jotting down the words on paper,it's as if I can't stop and yeah, that pretty much is the whole deal.
4) How did you feel when you got to know that you were the winner?
To be honest, I did see the announcement but I kind of ignored it due to my absentmindedness. Later on, while talking to one of my friends, she brought up the topicand I had to check the winners' list all over again. What I was feeling was a mix ofshock and excitement. But everything aside, if anything, I felt way more motivated to
keep writing.
5) Glad that the awards motivated you. Congrats for your win btw! Did you everface criticism? If yes, how did you overcome it?
Thank you! And uh yes. I did face criticism. But moreover, I took it in positive way.
Most of them were constructive so they did help me a lot but the ones that were notso supportive, I took it in consideration and saw it all as a way to improve my writingskills.
6) That’s nice to hear! When did you come across this genre or fanfiction
category?
I started with mostly mafia based or romance stories. But reading through Wattpadand other sources, I found science fiction to be one of the most intriguing genres.
And since we are well aware of the developing technology, I saw that as an
opportunity to get a ton of undiscoverable devices to life and just went with the flow.
7) That’s interesting! What is your opinion about our awards and how we hostedthem?
The Teenfix awards were quite consistent and very well organized. I didn't have towait ages for a reply of clarification or be it the results. That was impressive andmuch appreciated.
8) I’m glad to hear that and I’m sure the hosts will be too. How do you handlewriter’s block?
The best way to handle writer's block is to write the chapters in the traditional form ofwriting, that is, on paper. It works as a charm everytime. Secondly, there are a fewworksheets available online that have helped me get through plot holes causingwriter's block.
9) That’s some good advice! Do you plan on taking writing as a profession? Ifyes, what are your plans for it?
Yes, I do plan on taking writing as a profession in the future. I plan on securing acreative writing degree later on and probably hire an agent in order to work more onmy upcoming books.
10) Good luck for your future stories! What was your response when you firstpublished this book?
All the responses I had received were very positive. I was surprised at first thatSubliminal Riots was receiving so much of attention and positive comments since itwas my first time writing in this genre. But overall, I was ecstatic and kept writingmore not only for myself but also the readers.
11) As a writer, what are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
As a writer, I very much concentrate on the grammar. And that has to be my biggeststrength. Or probably taking negative comments in the most constructive waypossible. As for weakness, I'm a sucker for happy endings which don't always work
as a plus point. I'm working on it, hoping that it'd help.
12) Is there any advice you would like to give teenagers out there?
Being a teenager myself, I'd say that stop stressing yourself. Especially when it
comes to writing. It is all in your imagination. And as long as you are freelyexpressing yourself, you are a writer. Because being a writer refers to the courage offreely expressing your words. So, believe in yourself and trust me, you will do it.
13) That is so true! A few words about our community.
This was actually my first time participating in a contest held by the TeenFixcommunity. And I'm very much pleased by the way they work and handle everything.
Very calm and patient, from what I've noticed so far. And I'd love to be a part of theupcoming contests as well.
14) We’re that you had that experience with our community. Would you like to jointhis community?
I’d love to join this community in the future
15) That’s great! How did you feel about giving us this interview? Are there anysuggestions you’d like to make?
None at all. I enjoyed every bit of this interview and the interviewer is lovely, calm andco operative, most of all. I very much liked giving Teenfix an interview!
Thank you for taking your time to have this interview with us! We wish you all the luck for your future endeavor and pray and hope you get everything you wish for.
And that's a wrap for today!
We'll meet you in another episode soon!
Till then, Adios
