• Award Interview With @sowsow_writes •

Interviewee:  sowsow_writes

1)      May we know a few words about yourself.

Hello! I am Sowsow.
I am an Indian scribe of Teen fiction and Fantasy. I love to read and write and wanna make my voice heard through it.

2)      When did you start writing either on Wattpad or normally?

I have been reading on Wattpad over the last three years however I only started writing this year.

3)      Wow! You’re definitely a great writer, if you’re winning awards this early. What is your motivation to write?

I wanted to find the purpose of my life. I have had a passion for writing since my childhood and so, I wanted to improve my skills in writing and make my name known.

4)  How did you feel when you got to know that you are a winner?

I was going through a writer’s block at the time and had no hopes to continue. When I came to know that I had won a prize, it motivated me to overcome writer's block. Now I am at the phase of completing the book, thanks to these awards.

5) That’s great to know! Did you ever face criticism, if yes, how did you overcome it?

I haven’t gone through any rough criticism, most people here are nice and they only give constructive criticism, which has helped me a lot. If I do go through any negative criticism in the future, I will try to ignore them or kill them with kindness. :)

6) I like your approach. When did you come across the Teen Fiction genre?

I love reading teen fiction, and as I am in my teenage years, I can easily imagine, write and relate to stories of this genre. I came across this genre this year though.

7) What was your opinion about our awards and the way we hosted it?

These awards were very well sorted and executed. I loved the conduct of hosts, and it motivated many new writers like me.

8) Good to hear! How do you handle writer’s block?

Focusing solely on perfection and fear of failure can cause writer’s block. I don’t usually have a very tight schedule and if I don’t meet my dates on time, I don’t focus on it and I focus only on giving the best story. Taking breaks and focusing on the fun parts of writing can help break writer’s block.

9) Do you plan on taking writing as a profession?

No, I am doing this as a hobby and for relaxation. If I take writing as a profession, at some point it will become money based and hinder my creativity.

10) What was the response you got when you first published your winning book?

As this was my first book, not many people read it. Those who did read it, liked it, appreciated it and provided constructive feedback.

11) Is there any advice you would like to give to teenagers out there?

Make your voice heard, don’t focus on ‘what you have to do’ but ‘what you want to do’. Don’t let your mind be centered on winning because progression is the key. The world can’t wait to see the beautiful colours you have inside of you. Fighting!

12) Some great advice, indeed. Could you say a few words about our community?

I believe that being a teenager is the most important phase of a person’s life. Putting your focus on them and helping them is very much appreciated. Keep doing this and may god bless your hearts.

13) I’m sure the founders will love to hear this. How did you feel giving us this interview? Are there any suggestions that you would like to give?

I completely loved the interview. I appreciate your patience, and the way the questions were asked without involving any personal things that might have made me uncomfortable.

That’s the end of your interview, thank you for your time!
