"Anscombe called for a return to concepts such as character virtue and flourishing." The professor of ethics currently was writing on the board, his apprentice eating a pear on his desk, and his students taking down notes. "She emphasized the importance of the emotions and understanding of moral philosophy. With the exception of this emphasis, Anscombe's recommendation that we place virtue more centrally in our understanding of morality were taken up by a number of philosophers which then resulted in virtue ethics."
Namjoon turned to the class, ready to dismiss everyone yet disappointed that Jimin didn't raise his hand the whole class, or his head really.
Wait... was he sleeping?
"Mister Jeon."
Jungkook looks up, eyebrow raised. "Yup."
"Is Mister Park sleeping next to you?"
"Yup."
"Wake him up then."
The younger student tapped on Jimin's shoulder and without waiting, slapped the boy's back, which made the film major quickly sit up and look around.
"Mister Park, was my lesson boring you?" Namjoon asked with a smug on his face, hidden concern as Jimin stood up.
"I apologize sir, I had finished the notes way ahead but it won't happen again."
Namjoon just clicked his tongue. "Whatever, class dismissed." He then watched as all his students began leaving, except for Jungkook, who waited for Jimin. "Jimin, come talk to me."
Jungkook sighed. "I'll see ya at lunch." The boy walked down and was quick to get excited seeing that Yoongi was still there. He went up to his friend and whispered. "Got time to go over those lyrics?"
Yoongi nodded and the two left, Namjoon sitting next to his very tired friend. "Stayed up late?"
"I have a sociology exam Wednesday and I completely forgot about it..." Jimin grabbed onto his bag and sighed. "Sorry, I know you said not to lose any professionalism in the classroom—"
"Hey, I get it." Namjoon smiled as he patted his back. "Just get some rest, okay? A test is not the end of the world."
Jimin stood up, to which Namjoon followed him down the classroom. "I'm sorry I've been so busy too."
"It's fine."
The student yawned as they stopped in front of the door. "Sorry I haven't texted you either."
"Jimin-ah." Namjoon smiles, and it soothes Jimin's nerves of being a bad friend. "We both are busy people. We don't need to give each other constant attention... yet."
Jimin only has the energy to chuckle, "Thanks for understanding."
"No problem."
"How's Jimin?"
Taehyung sighed as Seokjin wiped the lens of the camera. "Jungkook told me he saw him and Mister Kim at Lotte World during class."
"Sorry, what?"
"Jimin hasn't skipped since high school—"
"Taehyung." Seokjin had a serious look on his face. "Namjoon was with Jimin outside of campus?"
The blue haired boy look confused. Why was Seokjin suddenly mad? "That's what Jungkook said... He was with Yoongi, so maybe we can confirm with hi—"
"I'm sorry, Jungkook was with Yoongi at Lotte World?" Taehyung just stayed quiet as his teacher stood up and took his phone out. "I apologize, but I think I can handle the rest of the camera's by myself."
"Bu-But, I want to help." The younger stood up, having the best posture possible to show his determination.
Seokjin gave the boy a tender smile, placing his hand on his back, relaxing his posture. "And you can. Another day. Go and spend time with your friend."
The boy sadly began collecting his things as Seokjin dialed up someone on his phone. Taehyung was very subtle about his crush on his photography teacher... to his friends. He was weak at the presence of Kim Seokjin. But he never had a chance. Not only was he straight, he was his teacher. The hottest teacher in the whole University, who knew how many girls were after him.
Just as he's going out the door of the classroom, he hears Seokjin's angry voice.
"Get your ass to my class before I burst into yours and make a scene."
With that, he left urgently to find his pink haired friend.
"I don't know Kook..." Yoongi looks between both their notebooks. "It's not Agust D style. It's very..."
"Cheery?" The bunny boy sighs as he pulls
his notebook away. "I'm sorry... I was just thinking of how much fun everyone has at the park."
"It's not too cheery." Yoongi was quick to smile and reassure Jungkook. "I told myself I wouldn't do love songs. But it's so your style. Have you ever thought about publishing your own music? Singing yourself?"
Jungkook's cheeks flare up as he closes the notebook. "No, I could never. I'm not as talented as you..."
"I don't sing." Yoongi was about to ask the younger to step out of his shell when he noticed a familiar figure. "Hoseok?"
The choreographer looks up from his laptop, his whole expression brightening. "Yoongi, Jungkook, hi."
Jungkook beams up and motions for the older to join them. "Come here! I need your opinion on something."
Hoseok quickly closes his laptop and makes his way over to them, sitting next to the bunny boy he was most familiar with. "What am I giving my opinion on?"
"Yoongi hyung's hair."
"Not this again." Yoongi rolled his eyes as he chuckled.
"Seok, wouldn't he look good with purple hair?"
The two older boys looked at each other. Yoongi's stomach all of the sudden turned in itself as Hoseok smiled and nodded. "I think he'd look good with any color."
"You should do it." Jungkook called out as he cheekily smiled, his bunny teeth showing. And then he made Yoongi's stomach turn yet again. "You'd look even more handsome than you already do."
The goth boy quickly waves his hand in front of his face. "Please stop complimenting me. I'm terrible with compliments."
"You deserve to hear them more." Hoseok smirks as he watches Yoongi's cheek flare up, so he nudges the youngest to follow the act.
"Yeah hyung, you're cute and cool."
"Can we not?" Yoongi points at their notebooks. "L-Let's focus on the music."
"Oh..." The brand new addition to the table looks at Jungkook, almost hurt. "I didn't know you told other people you were into music."
Jungkook quickly shakes his head. "I don't! Just Yoongi and you."
"It better just be me and him!" Hoseok swings his arm over Jungkook's neck and playfully ruffles his hair as the two laugh.
Yoongi can't help feel slightly jealous. Maybe he just felt left out to their comfortability. But he was included as they began talking about music.
He still wondered why Hoseok felt so familiar.
"Are you out of your mind?!"
Namjoon sighed as he sat against one of the student desks. "The kid needed some cheering up."
"Bullshit, don't act like I'm stupid!" Seokjin's voice stammered in anger. "Li-like in what normal world would a teacher make their student skip class and take them to motherfucking Lotte World?"
The younger blond could only look down in shame. "Sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry?!" The handsome teacher was at disbelief. "Your hard work, your reputation, your job—all of that can be taken away or ruined because you suddenly feel bad for one of your students."
"I like him..."
"You can't like your students, Joon." Seokjin snaps his fingers in front of Namjoon's face. "Earth to the genius that would know better?"
The ethics professor swatted his hand away as he decided to stand up straight. "What about you, huh? Don't think you're off so easy with sneaking around with Taehyung."
"Oh please." Seokjin rolls his eyes. "The guy is just my student. As it should be."
"You know what? I don't care." Namjoon takes off his glasses, putting them inside his jean pockets. "He feels genuine, he treats me like a real person. Not the genius Mister Kim to bow down to, not Namjoon the nerdy outcast— Me."
"And you think he likes you too?" Seokjin shakes his head, scoffing as he turns away. "Unbelievable."
"Why can't I be happy?"
His friend turns around, staring at Namjoon. "Why can't you be— Are you dense suddenly? The kid is looking for a good grade. Not your happiness."
"Who says Taehyung isn't doing that with you?"
"I don't care if he is or not!" The man sighs as he rests both his hands on his desk. "I know that what he's after is to graduate and pursue photography. Not another friend o-or a mentor. But you know how it gets with us..."
Namjoon sighs as he finally just takes a seat. "Lonely."
"Heck," Seokjin softly chuckles. "even Yoongi has more friends now." He looks up, locking eyes with his friend. "But we can't give in. Yoongi can because he is just a student but us? We gotta stay professional."
But Namjoon didn't want to let go of Jimin. Thinking about it made him sad. "Okay... sorry, I get it now."
And he wouldn't give up. Even if it meant he had to hide it from his best friends.
