Jimin was stomping his way towards the cafeteria after Taehyung had texted Hoseok and asked where he was.
Taehyung tried over and over again to calm down his best friend, but the older didn't listen.
The younger scanned the area. There weren't many people here other than most definitely, people he knew. Both Namjoon and Seokjin were there, and Yoongi was just arriving to sit with them as Wonho looked up from his table.
As Wonho stood up to greet Jimin, the younger pushed his way past the buffed dude with such strength, even the health major was taken aback.
Hoseok looked up, all smiled and oblivious as his friend stomped towards him. "Hey Chim—"
S m a c k !
Suddenly everyone turned to look as Hoseok's face was turned aside, a furious Jimin who breathed nothing but anger.
"What the fuck Jimin?" Hoseok held his left cheek as he turned to him.
"What the fuck you! You liar!" Jimin's voice had never been so deep as he shouted. His eyes had never looked so dark. His stance had never been so powerful as he pointed his finger at Hoseok who looked confused and terrified. "You fucking liar."
"Wh-What—"
"You made out with Jackson Wang when we were dating you asshole!" Jimin shouted for everyone to react to with a gasp. "A whole goddamn year you've been lying about what happened to my camera and it was you all along who broke it on purpose to hide the evidence of you cheating on me."
Hoseok shook his head as he tried to stand tall, to not lose his pride. "Jimin, I can explain."
"Explain what?!" Jimin huffed, looking down at the older. "That you are the most narcissistic, self entitled person I've ever fucking dated?!"
"Jimin, I'm sorry. I was drunk."
"Drunk? Drunk?!" Jimin took off his bracelet that Hoseok had given him while they dated. "You can tell yourself that all you want." He threw the bracelet at his chest, which the older fumbled with.
Hoseok never realized he even wore this anymore. Shows Jimin how much he actually cared for him enough to notice. He looked up as Jimin got close to him. "Jimin, please—"
"Live up to your reputation."
Hoseok turned to Taehyung as Jimin stormed off. "You traitor—"
Taehyung shook his head as he began to walk off. "This was on you. Not me."
Hoseok now just stood there, all eyes on him as all rumors and all speculations were confirmed: J-Hope was a player. But he didn't care what anybody thought. He thought that as he grabbed his things quickly, trying to shake off the hurt and betrayed look on Jimin's face from his mind.
Yet he caught a glimpse of one blond producer, who looked rather disturbed. And just as he made eye contact with Yoongi, his eyes teared up and he quickly left the cafeteria.
In all this chaos, Jimin had already made his way back to his car, knowing there was no way he'd be able to focus in his classes after being so upset. And he's still so upset.
He took out his keys, ready to leave Taehyung and come back and get him after the day was over.
But what would he do?
Without Taehyung, there was no one else. Hoseok was his closest friend after Taehyung, and now, Jimin felt alone yet again.
Because date after date, no one felt as perfect as Hoseok. And Jimin knew—god he knew— that Hoseok wasn't ever a good boyfriend. But he was the most comfortable he had felt and the older made him feel that what they had was real.
But he was stupid enough to think he'd ever fix things with him after what they so often joked about was a break.
And just thinking about it made him burst into tears for the first time in a long time. His breathing was choppy and his sniffles sounded that of a child. He felt like a child.
Deceived, lied, and used for amusement.
Jimin brought his sweater paws to his eyes, rubbing away the tears that just kept escaping themselves into sobs. He didn't care who saw him, he didn't care what anyone thought. Because really, what did it matter?
No one ever cared for Jimin unless it was for his looks or test answers.
Yet somehow, someone had just wrapped their arms around Jimin. And the younger didn't care to know who it was. He knew it wasn't Taehyung because he knew the younger's Gucci cologne. It surely wasn't Hoseok because this shirt was black and what a fool he would be to go after Jimin.
He truly didn't care. He just hugged back—really clutching at whoever's shirt this was— as he continued to cry in what he felt was probably the loneliest he'd feel with someone hugging him.
"Handsome guys shouldn't cry."
Jimin quickly backed away from the hug as he stared up at his teacher. Maybe he did care who it was if it was one person. He began wiping away his tears as if to hide he had never been crying. "Mister Kim—"
"Is it really a time to be using formalities?" Namjoon looked worried. He had never seen Jimin look so angry before like how he did in the cafeteria, and now, he was seeing him full on sobbing. He watched as Jimin crossed his arms over himself and began shaking his head.
"Do-Don't hug me!" He sniffled as he couldn't help but pout. "It's not e-ethical for you t-to hug a student l-like that."
"Neither is screaming at a fellow student." Namjoon took a step forward, only for Jimin to back up onto his car. "Jimin, I don't want anything from you. I just want you to know, you aren't alone."
Yet Jimin couldn't give in as he shook his head again. "Everyone I-I have cared f-for betrayed me f-for someone else. Dad, m-my brother, my friends and now H-Hoseok." He sniffled as a tear rolled down his cheek. "I don't want to let anyone else in."
Namjoon's heart ached for him as he slightly lowered himself to look at Jimin, who avoided eye contact at all costs. "Mister Park, as your teacher who has studied Psychology... Science supports that hugs usually really help people in pain."
Jimin's wet eyelashes looked up at Namjoon, a pout formed over his lips, red eyes, and flamed up cheeks. So he still felt like child. Being persuaded into what he thought was a stupid hug.
But Namjoon sighed as Jimin continued to cry away his sadness onto their embrace. He had never seen him or heard of him ever be sad and he wondered what it would look like not too long ago. Now he regretted ever wondering such thing.
Instead of heavy breathing that could be mistaken for hyperventilating and hiccups escaping every so often, he wished he could see his student give him a quirky smile after a witty response to his lesson.
Maybe had he shown up to work, this would have been avoided for another few hours.
But what good would that have done?
Namjoon tightened his hug before he tried to pull away from what seemed to be the longest hug he had had in a while but Jimin shook his head, sniffling as he buried his head even more into the professor's chest.
"Please, don't go yet." He sounded strained but the older wouldn't think too much of it.
Namjoon felt a grip on his back and he knew doing such wouldn't ease the younger. He brought his hands backward and grabbed onto Jimin's hands, making the boy just gently press his hands against his back as he then continued his embrace.
It felt like hours until Jimin's crying came to a stop and he finally let Namjoon go.
He was more than embarrassed as he pulled on the sleeves of his sweater and backed away. "I'm sorry."
"That guy should be sorry, not you." Namjoon made himself chuckle, maybe to ease the tension.
The two just stood there staring at each other. There it was again. Even in the midst of all this, Jimin was just trying his hardest not to give in to that weird feeling in his stomach.
"I think emails wouldn't help so much," The blond remarks as he then looks down at his feet. "You know, with getting feelings out and stuff."
Jimin sniffled as he wiped the tip of his nose, looking down at Namjoon's feet as well. "Do you like coffee?"
Namjoon's head snapped up quickly as the younger then looked at him, waiting for a response. "I do."
Jimin then grabbed his phone from his back pocket, unlocked it, and opened the app for contacts as he passed it to the taller male. And just like that, tears in his eyes, rosy cheeks, nose reddened, and alright smile had captured Namjoon's heart right there and then.
"I would really like to rant over coffee then."
