^_^ Chapter 2 - Emo dude ^_^
Nana did a double take the minute she heard his offer.
"You want me,"she gestured to herself with her thumb, "to live with you, emo dude."she pointed to him.
"Hey! I'm not emo."he told her as she rolled her eyes.
"Sure you aren't."she mumbled, obvious sarcasm rolled off her tongue.
She turned around and sighed heavily as her amber eyes caught sight of her brand spanking new home, now a bunch of ash piles. Nana walked over to where she knew her kitchen was and picked up the burnt tray of cookies, chucking them far away. The burnt tray flew past the man's head as he ducked before casting a light glare at her direction.
"Next time, try not to take my head off with your tray!"he shouted at her as she whipped around, she had forgotten he was standing there; watching her with his pale blue eye.
"How can an emo dude like yourself even see with one eye?"Nana asked him, sassily.
"Why do you care if I can see or not?"the man retorted back, a cool and crisp iciness laced his deep western voice.
"Oh, excuse me sir while I yeehaw out of your face."Nana told him, a small smirk slowly crept up onto her face as she walked down the street, stuffing her hands into her pink sweater's pockets.
She felt the crisp, cool breeze blow a wave of chills through her body as she shivered slightly. The man groaned as he walked behind her, his pale blue eye noticing her shiver. He turned her around with one of his hands while the other handed her his jacket.
"Here, take it."the man grumbled. "You were shivering a lot."he noted as Nana smiled.
"Thank you~"she trailed off, hugging the black and gray jacket closer to her body.
"I'm sorry, my name is of no importance. Ma'am."he tipped his hat lightly as he trudged down the street, clad in his black flannel shirt and dark gray jeans with his usual black laced up hiking boots.
Nana's amber eyes stared after him as she shook her head. "Now I'm curious, who was that?"she asked herself.
She pulled out her phone and checked the time; 7:52 pm, before looking up at the familiar red two story in front of her. While she wasn't 100% sure if Aaron or Aphmau were back, she knew they'd let her inside but the sudden silence slowly began to keep her mind at ease while she thought about the man's offer.
Was she ready to live with a stranger? Much less, one who's the complete opposite of herself; hyper, shipper, and baker. She made a mental note of the man, noting that he was cold, snappy, and she couldn't help but place that she had seen him before.
"But where?"she muttered to herself as she sat on the front step of Aaron and Aphmau's house.
The couples' dark red sedan, a 2019 Nissan Altima, pulled up into the driveway as Aaron got out of the driver's side and slammed the door shut. He then walked around the dark red Altima and opened both the passenger and back doors. Aphmau got out, trembling slightly as she went to grab the car seat that sat rear-faced in the back seat on the passengers side.
"Oh hey Nana."Aphmau called out to her friend, her right arm laced around the handle of a car seat with a red blanket covering both the handle and car seat.
"Hey Aphmau....aww."Nana called back, standing up from her spot on the front porch and walking over to the couple.
"How about we talk inside?"Aaron suggested as he popped the trunk of the red sedan, grabbing the rest of his and Aph's bags before closing it shut.
"Of course."Nana replied as she trudged behind Aphmau.
Aphmau expertly opened the door; juggling a car seat in one arm and the keys in the other. When she twisted the doorknob, she walked in, setting her keys in the drawer beside the dark oak door. She set the car seat down gently on the floor as she lifted up part of the blanket, revealing a tiny bundle of joy wrapped in a adorable pink and purple onesie.
"She's so cute! What's her name?"Nana asked her friend, as Aaron stepped through the door, setting the bags down near the drawers.
"Alina."Aaron and Aphmau said in unison.
"It's unique and cute for a little cutie pie!"Nana squealed; besides shipping she, like Aphmau, had a soft spot for babies; finding them absolutely adorable bundles of joy.
The meif'wa looked up and saw Aphmau smile. "Thanks Nana. We still have to decide on who her godparents will be but if you want, you can be her godmother."Aphmau told her, Nana's amber eyes sparkling slightly.
"Wait, really?! You want me to be your daughter's godmother?"Nana asked, just being sure that was what the two were asking her.
Aaron and Aphmau nodded. "We'd love for you to be her godmother, that is if you want to."Aaron told her.
Nana hummed and gave the couple a real, genuine smile. "I'd be honored to be her godmother."she stated as Aphmau squealed lightly, hugging the meif'wa tight.
She couldn't believe it. She was Alina's godmother and she didn't know how to feel. Was she supposed to feel anything? Nana shrugged, her mind thinking back to the man with the offer and realized one thing; she never gave the man an answer.
Silently slapping herself, she kept hugging Aphmau; temporary forgetting the kindness the man showed her. Giving her his jacket all because she was merely shivering but the man gave her no name, so what was she supposed to call him? Emo dude? Blind one eye sighter? Emo cupcake? She shook her head at the last one; there was no way in hell that she would ever call him that. Heck, she didn't even know his name.
