^_^ Chapter 1 - Burnt House with Worry ^_^

"Thank you for helping me move in! I don't think I'd be able to do this alone."a pink haired meif'wa stared as she lifted a small box, setting it down once she was inside.

"Anytime Nana!"a raven haired woman said as she set down a box onto the birch hardwood floor in the living room.

"Coming through!"a white haired man said, bumping into the two women by accident.

His box tumbled out of his hands and rolled by itself as a black haired man bent down and picked it up.

"Travis, really?"he said, handing the box to his wife, who set it down beside her.

"Sorry Aaron. I was distracted by Katelyn's butt."he admitted as the trio of adults erupted into loud laughter.

"Travis? Why were you looking at Katelyn's butt?"the raven haired woman asked him.

"It's....uh...nice?"Travis said as a blue haired woman kicked him in the gut.

"Stop staring at my butt, pervert."the woman said, cracking a small smile. "You're a dork."she added, kissing his cheek.

"Aww, my blueberry does care."Travis said as she jabbed her arm into his shoulder.

"You two done with you married banter?"Nana giggled to herself.

She was glad she wasn't married or dating anyone.

"As I was telling Aphmau, thank you guys for helping me move in!"Nana thanked her friends.

"We'll help with anything! Right Aaron?"Aphmau asked her husband, who merely nodded.

"Right, uh sure."he said.

"Oh that reminds me Aph, Travis and I have something for you."the blue haired woman said as she walked out of the house towards her car.

After a few minutes, she came back with a relatively large box wrapped in pink and blue wrapping paper and a white bow sat on top of the box.

"Open it Aph; it's for you and Aaron."Travis told her as Nana had disappeared and came back with a small box with green and yellow polka dotted wrapping paper.

"Aww! Katelyn, Travis! I love it."Aphmau stated as she tore open the box; lifting up a green blanket with yellow stripes and a little yellow bear in one of the corners.

"Congratulations you two!"Nana shouted, bouncing up and down as she watched her ship sail like it never has before.

She handed Aaron her small box. "I hope you two enjoy it. I made it myself, well, with Lucinda and Kim's help."she said.

Aph held up a red and purple onesie with the Lycan Family crest stamped in the middle of the onesie.

"It's adorable! Thank you Nana!"Aphmau stated, walking up to the meif'wa and hugged her tightly.

"Anytime Aphmau! I hope he/she will grow up to be as amazing as you two are!"Nana stated, a soft grin forming on her face.

"So do we!"Aph told her, looking at Aaron as he pulled Aph close; keeping an arm around her small shoulders.

<><>Ten minutes later<><>

Nana was in the kitchen, her meif'wa tail swishing lightly side to side as she happily mixed the batter in front of her. She tasted some of the batter by bringing the spatula to her mouth, humming softly when it was just perfect. Nana shaped the cookies using an ice cream scooper, spacing them apart as best as she could and put the tray into the oven before walking out of the kitchen.

After about an hour; Katelyn noticed the smell of the air and judging by the looks around, Aphmau, Aaron, and Travis also smelt it.

"Nana? Are you burning cookies?"Travis asked the pink haired meif'wa, who froze and ran back into the kitchen where smoke was quickly engulfing the brand spanking new kitchen.

"MY COOKIES!"Nana shouted as Katelyn and Travis came into the kitchen, trying to put out the flames but the coughing from everyone in the house alerted them.

"We can't put it out!"Katelyn shouted, coughing slightly as she took Travis and Nana's hands, running out of the house.

"Wait where's Aphmau?"Nana asked, breathing heavily.

Her amber eyes watched Travis point to Aaron, who held Aphmau in his arms as fire stopped them from escaping safely.

"Oh god."Travis muttered.

The trio heard loud bearing sirens approaching rather quickly and the group was ushered onto the other side of the street.

"We've got a pregnant woman here!"the group heard someone shout as they saw Aphmau get pulled out of the house, which was now burnt to ashes.

"Aaron? How's Aph?"Nana asked him, seeing the man walk towards them with a bandaged arm.

"She's okay but the baby might have problems."Aaron told them.

"Hopefully the baby's okay."Nana said as Katelyn and Travis nodded in agreement with her.

"Excuse me, Aaron?"an orange haired woman wearing a doctor's outfit asked, tapping his shoulder.

"Lucy? What is it?"Aaron asked as Lucinda whispered something into his ear.

His charcoal eyes widened as he followed Lucinda towards the ambulance that had Aph in it. He sat beside his wife; grabbing her hand and holding it tightly as the ambulance's loud blearing blue and red lights echoed throughout the street.

"What was that all about?"Travis asked the two ladies beside him.

"I don't know."Katelyn responded, stifling a slight and loud dinosaur-like yawn.

"All that moving for nothing made me tired, night Travis, night Nana."Katelyn said as she turned around to walk towards her and Travis's house; a cream colored two story that was right next door to a red two story belonging to Aph and Aaron.

"Night Nana. Katelyn wait up!"Travis called as he ran to catch up to Katelyn.

"Night."Nana whispered to herself as she stared back at her newly burnt house, sighing heavily.

"Where am I going to live now?"she asked aloud, unaware of someone sneaking up behind her; overhearing her conservation.

"I guess you can live with me?"the voice asked.

Nana turned around as her amber eyes stared into one pale blue eye; the other was covered by his long black hair.
