Chapter | 8
Being told that I had to go to school was not something I wanted to hear, ever.
It's not that I'd ever actually been to modern high school but from the movies, gossip and stories, there didn't seem to be much for me to look forward to.
They said it was to keep up appearances so nobody would question why I was of the age to go to school but wasn't.
I flat out refused the first time they asked but, of course, they had to bring out the puppy dog eyes and I'm ashamed to admit that they really did work just as well as they did many years ago.
So, that's how I found myself getting up early to get dressed, brush my teeth, eat something before going to school whilst I gave them both the silent treatment.
Damon couldn't go to school because he looked too old, it was funny how Damon's older but he acts more like a child.
Stefans car was definitely not the prettiest thing I've ever seen, Damons looked slightly better but you'd think with all that money they had that they would buy a really cool car.
After we got to school, Stefan stepped out the car as I sulked in the passenger seat with my arms crossed, refusing to move.
He walked round to my side of the car and opened the door as he held his hand out for me to take, which I turned away from in my very mature sulk.
"April, stop pouting and get out the car" he scolded and I huffed but got out the car anyway, blocking my eyes from the sun which was very rudely trying to blind me.
I looked around to see most people staring at me which definitely did nothing to improve my mood.
"Stefan, they're staring at me" I tattled in a very whiny voice, determined to be as annoying as I could all day so they wouldn't make me go to school again.
He just rolled his eyes, slammed the car door shut and wrapped an arm around my shoulders as he guided us into the office.
Despite my mood, I couldn't help but lean into him as we walked through the door and I didn't miss the smug smile that he gave me.
I stuck my tongue out at him but he just leaned forward to kiss me, biting my tongue in the process.
"Ew, you're so gross" I said and he raised an eyebrow at my, probably flushed, cheeks knowing that I did, in fact, quite enjoy the little show of affection, teasing or no.
He hummed in response and focused his eyes on the front desk as he basically forced the poor woman to give me my schedule which wasn't really mine.
"We could've just actually signed me up, then you wouldn't have needed to dazzle the woman" I commented.
"What's the fun in that" he said, tucking a piece of rogue hair behind my ear and taking his arm from around my shoulders to intertwine our fingers.
"You know, you always look really grumpy" I pointed out and he raised his eyebrows.
"Oh, really" he said, not sounding that bothered.
"Yeh, did you get like vampire plastic surgery to always have a resting bitch face or something?" I asked and he chuckled, bringing my hand to his lips to place a soft kiss on it.
"I guess I never really had any reason to smile these past years, my face probably just froze in a permanent scowl" he answered, jokingly but with an underline of seriousness as we walked into our first class of the day.
"Well, maybe I could try to make you smile more" I grinned and I let go of his hand to sit in a seat, ignoring all the curious eyes on me, probably because I'm the new girl.
"I don't even think you need to try to make me smile, you do that by just being here" he said sweetly before he gave me one last peck on the lips and sat in the seat by mine.
I watched as more students filed into the classroom, including a sour looking Elena who gave me the bitchiest face she could manage before taking a seat at the other side of Stefan who gave me a pleading look to which I just shrugged with a smile.
Soon after, Rebekah walked into the classroom, which seemed to surprise more then just me as Stefan and Elena gaped at her.
"Rebekah!" I exclaimed and she looked over at me with a small smile and took the seat that was at the other side of me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked and she tilted her head to the side and gave me a one word answer.
"Nik" I nodded my head in understanding.
"Well, at least you have a reason to be here, I have no idea why I'm here" I said, not looking at Stefan but knowing that he's probably shaking his head at me.
"Oh, I'm sure you have some reason to be here" she teased lightly, looking at Stefan over my shoulder.
"Nope, nobody in this place that I would go to school for, except you, but I didn't know you were coming here. I guess I just wanted an education" I said, clearly lying as Stefan snorted from beside me to which I glared at him as he smiled, pretending he didn't do anything.
When I turned back to Rebekah she was looking at me with the biggest grin on her face, I huffed and turned to look at the front of the classroom as the teacher walked in to start the lesson.
...
When lunch finally came around, I was so bored, I was considering drinking a gallon of vervain to make me ill so i could go home and I was going to tell Stefan about that but he looked even more bored then I was so I decided against it.
"Can we skip the rest of school?" I asked seriously and Stefan pulled me over to sit on a wall.
"No" he replied shortly.
"Stef, I'm going to start clawing my eyes out if I have to listen to one more teacher tell me things that I already know" I said and he pulled me to sit sideways so my thighs were over his and my side was on his chest.
"It's really not that bad, at least you get to spend time with me" he said, hugging me closer to his chest as I sighed.
"I suppose I can manage a few hours a day at this place, but tomorrow, can Damon come at lunch so I can see him too?" I asked and Stefan nodded against my head.
"He could probably come for a few minutes today, if you message him now" he shrugged and I eagerly opened my phone to message him to which he replied 'on my way'.
I put my phone away and hugged Stefan back as he sighed in content, if I could do school with Stefans arms wrapped around me all day then I wouldn't have complained in the first place.
I was extremely comfortable but, unfortunately, Elena stomped over with a reluctant Bonnie and a grimacing Caroline.
She tapped me on the shoulder and I groaned into Stefans chest before sighing.
"Yes?" I asked, not moving my head from its position, much to Stefans amusement.
"Did you put Stefan under some sort of spell or something" I moved my head to look at her and she scowled with her arms crossed over her chest and her hip jutted to one side.
"I'm not a fucking witch Elma, can you just leave me alone" I said and Stefan interrupted what Elena was about to say, probably about me saying her name wrong.
"Why would you think that?" he asked, his arms tightening around me.
"As soon as she walked into the same room as you, you totally ignored me" she complained.
"Maybe that's because he never liked you in the first place" came a voice from a few metres away and I looked over to see Damon in all his glory as he glared at Elena.
Stefan loosened his hold on me, allowing me to hop down from the wall and run over to Damon who chuckled and span me around before setting me down and giving me a kiss on the top of my head.
"Somebody missed me" he teased, tugging on a small piece of my hair.
"I don't know what you're talking about" I scoffed but he just smirked and walked me back over to Stefan.
I sat back into the wall with the brothers either side of me and Caroline looked as if she'd seen a ghost.
"What are you doing here" she spat at Damon and I huffed.
"Okay, I'm getting real sick and tired of you guys, well minus Bonnie, she hasn't done anything yet. So if you don't leave us alone I won't be responsible for my actions" I threatened but none of them turned to walk away until I jumped down from the wall which sent them scuttling away.
Getting back on the wall, I layed down so my head was on Damon and my legs were on Stefan.
"I am so not going back to this place tomorrow" I grumbled but Damon and Stefan glanced at each other and had one of their many silent conversations which, in all honestly, made me slightly uneasy.
Damon ran his fingers through my hair and Stefans fingers ghosted up and down my legs, making me suppress a shiver.
"How about, for every day you go to school, with the minimum amount of complaining, we give you a reward" Damon negotiated and I felt Stefans fingers move just that little bit higher making my breath hitch in my throat as I closed my eyes.
"N-not going t-to work" I stumbled over my words and could practically see their smirks through my eyelids.
Damon pulled me to sit up and brought his lips down on mine, kissing me hard and passionately and I felt his fangs graze over my lips.
Stefan pulled me over to him once Damon released me and kisses me just as hard, forcing his tongue into my mouth as I moaned.
He pulled away, leaving me dazed and very turned on and I could feel my eyes were heavy with lust.
"You win" I sighed and moved to go to my next class as the bell rang, ignoring their smug faces.
I asked 👇 what book they wanted updating and they chose this one so, yeh :) you're welcome ;D
