chapter fifteen - "Sleep over at mine?"

"He waited 145 years, only to find out that Katherine could not care less. And not to mention he's definitely on Clementine's bad side. I mean, that's got to hurt, right?" Stefan asked Elena as the two were leaned against their lockers.
"And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy." She remarked.
"You have every reason to be upset with him." He said as she hummed in response. "Have you thought any more about what you're going to do?"
"About what? Isobel, my vampire birth mother, who's related to my vampire ancestor Katherine, who screwed over your vampire brother. Nah. Haven't thought about it at all." She rambled off sarcastically.
"I'm sorry I brought it up." He said as his face fell seeing Clementine walking towards them. "Clem walking this way,"
Elena turned and smiled but it soon faded seeing her clearly upset.
She had grey and black sweats on with the hood up. Her face was pale and her bags were prominent as it looked like she hadn't slept in days. While having her ear buds in probably blasting the Mamma Mia Soundtrack.
"Hey...Clementine," She trailed off as the small girl walked past the two not even a glance.
She walked to her locker and opened it changing out books and wondering why she didn't just stay home with Mel. She hadn't slept at all that night or the night before. They both wanted to apologize or make up or something, but being as they both were stubborn they wanted the other to say something first. Which just kept making the carousel go around and around.

Clementine was happy school was finally over. Her migraine's were getting worse along with her anxiety which made her migraine get worse. Which made her anxiety anf just kept the vicious cycle going.
To be completely honest she just wanted to lay in her bed under her covers and just let the world go pass her. Leaving her behind to deal with her own little pitty party.
The only problem was her sister's would never let that happen.
Mack knocked lightly on the door, "Hey, I just wanted to come up and make sure your okay."
"I'm fine," She answered laying on her back staring at the ceiling.
"Really? Because you've been--"
"I said I'm fine!" She snapped sitting up but quickly laid back down seeing Mack's face. She was confused and concerned as she had never seen this side of her older sister. "Okay. Just....call if you need anything." She said quietly before walking out, shutting the door behind her.
She jogged downstairs shaking her head as she meet Mel in the living room. "I'm never listening to you again."
"Why? What happened?" She asked leaning her arm on the back of the couch.
Mack sighed as she sat down next to her, "She jumped my ass just for asking if she was okay."
"She did?" The oldest asked as she nodded her head before turning back to the movie they were watching. The two were worried about Clementine and somehow Mack was talked into the one going up.
"I'll be right back," Mel suddenly said getting up and walked around the couch towards the stairs.
"Good luck," Mack remarked before getting comfortable.
Mel jogged up the stairs and went straight to Clem's closed door. She knocked lightly, "I said I'm fine!"
"Not Mack!" She yelled back before opening the door. Seeing her sister laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling. "I wanted to check up on you and make sure you were okay." She asked sitting at the edge of her bed.
Clem didn't move, or even look at her. "Did something happen between you and Damon?" She asked softly trying to get any information out of her.
She thought for a moment looking down at her feet. Blinking a few times before looking back at the ceiling.
She took that as a yes, "Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Why so you can just mess everything up even more?"
"Clemmy I didn't--"
"You didn't what?!" She snapped sitting up glaring at her. "What meddle in my life because nothing is going on in your's."
"You don't mean that,"
"No I do! You stay around here cause you have nothing else better to do. Is that why your taking such a long break from school because you realized nothing in your life was going on?"
Melissa quicky stood up staring at her in disbelief. "That's just your shitty selfasteam talking."
Clem scoffed shaking her head, "I seriously hope you go back soon because I honestly don't think I can take being around you any more." She said emotionless.
Mel shook her head and quickly walked out of the and walked straight into her room slamming the door behind her.
Clem slowly got up and walked over to the open door and slammed it shut. She didn't mean what she said. She didn't know she said those things. She just wanted someone to feel the pain she was going through and didn't realized how low she had gone.

"Don't look at me like that,"
"Are you crazy?" Stefan asked walking over to Damon who was caught with some girl. "Save the lecture. Look ─" The oldest started but was cut off by a vampire jumping through the window.
He tackled Stefan to ground and stabbed him with a shard of glass as Damon quickly jumped up and threw him off the blond.
The two fought as Stefan struggled to pull the glass out. But once he got it out another vampire followed through the window. She threw him into a chair which broke as he quickly grabbed a piece of the leg and stabbed her with it.
Damon threw the first vampire across the room as he quickly looked down at the girl laying dead on the ground before running out through the window.
"Damn it," Damon breathed out.
"Yeah. I remember them...from 1864. They were in the tomb." Stefan informed.
"Yeah, about that." He said and than went onto explaining what he now knew about the all the tomb vampires. Stefan let out a huff running his hands, but than reached for his phone and quickly dialed a number and placed it to his ear.
"Who are you-?"
"Clementine, it's me. Listen I know things are a bit rocky but I need you to come over here as soon as you can." He said waiting a second for her response. "Great, I'll see you soon,"
"You called her?" Damon asked after hanging up and putting his phone up.
"Yes, because you two need to talk things but also because you pissed off a while tomb of vampires!"

Clementine sighed heavily debating if she should go or not. But ended up throwing some shoes on and grabbed her keys. Sneaking down stairs and was about to open the front door but was stopped by Melissa who was sitting in the dinner room.
"Where are you sneaking off to?" She asked deadpan as the only light on was the light above her.
"Out," She said walking up and leaning on the doorframe.
"I'ma asshole and I'm sorry. I saw you and I wanted you to stay that happy because I hadn't seen you that happy in such a long time. And I just ended up screwing it all up and I'm sorry." She apologized looking up at her little sister.
Clem gave her a small smile, "It's okay. More things caused it to break than just you meddling."
"Really?" She asked as she nodded. "Thanks that makes me feel a little bit better."
"Good." She whispered back as the two were trying not to wake the whole Lightwood house up. "Now, I have to go, but I'll be back soon."
"So we're good?"
"Yeah, we're good."
"Good, be careful, Clemmy." Mel said smiling lightly up at her. Watching as her little sister turned around, grabbed her keys and silently went out the door.

"So let me get all this bullshit straight. The tomb vampires all escaped and are now with Anna and her mom?" Clementine asked looking between both Salvatore brother. While mostly at Stefan, who nodded. "And Damon pissed them off?"
"Yup,"
"And now the dead chick is one of the two vampires that tried to kill you two?" She asked pointing two fingers at them.
"Yup," Stefan repeated nodding his head.
"And you needed me why?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest. "I mean I was perfectly fine self loathing in my bed."
"Well your a vampire hunter and this can and will go verily badly very fast. And we thought-" Stefan started to explain. "He thought," Damon corrected looking down at the ground. "You should have a heads up in case it does go south. And thought it was better to tell you know so that way you aren't blinded sighted when we need you help killing like twenty vampires."
She nodded slowly looking down taking all the information down. "You could have texted me all of this." She than went to walk out but Stefan lightly grabbed her arm stopping her.
"Wait. I'm not done." He said as both looked at him confused. "Neither one of you are leaving until you make up."
"I'm fine. He's fine. We're fine. Right, Damon?" She asked emotionless quickly looking at him.
He finally looked up at her. Seeing the deadpan expression she was giving him before he looked back the blond vampire. "We're fine."
He shooked his head at the two before walking out shutting and locking the doors. Locking the two in the house, alone. They both started to look around trying to look anywhere but at each other. She huffed crossing her arm's and looking up at him. "You wanna get this over with or what?"
"I could alway snap his neck, he'll be passed out for a couple hours." He suggested looking at her with a deadpan expression.
She scoffed, "And once again you chose violence over talking." She sighed out walking down and sitting down on a chair.
"Sorry we all can't be so in tune with our feelings and emotions." He remarked sitting across from her.
"So are you going to explain an anyway why you snapped and killed Saltzman? Or are you just gunna make me throw stuff at you and sees what sticks?" She asked crossing her legs and propping her elbow on the armrest.
"Please don't act like you don't know,"
"No, I actually don't." She corrected.
"You don't?" He asked raising a brow as she slowly shook her head. "Everything was getting to overwhelming and it didn't help when you avoid a huge question. And I snapped..." He trailed off.
"I avoid the question because I was scared. I still am," She responded slowly looking up at him.
"Why? Why are you so scared?" He asked sitting at the edge of his seat.
"Because Damon, the last guy I dated didn't want to do anything with me. He didn't want anyone to know about me. He didn't introduce me to anyone, not his friends, not his family, not even his fucking pet rock." She said feeling the tears start to pool in the corner of her eyes.
"Meanwhile I told everyone. My sisters, my friends, hell even my parents. And when he when he broke things off to go to college I was heartbroken." She admitted sniffling looking to the side.
"And I'm scared that I'm gunna get hurt. That something's gunna happen and I'm gunna end up hurt again. And your just gonna leave and I'll be alone again." She rambled as she felt his hand lay on top of her's. She slowly looked up seeing his soften face. "I'm just scared to get hurt again," She admitted as her voice creaked a little.
"Clem, I'm scared to. I mean everything with Katherine and I don't you to do the same thing." He said softly as she started trailing her fingers over his.
"Damon you have to understand that I won't be Katherine. I'm not Katherine. I never will be, and if you can't understand that...." She trailed off as a tear started to rolled down.
He brought his thumb up and whipped the tear away. "I don't want you to be. I want Clementine not Katherine."
She smiled before placing her hands on other side of his cheeks. "Good, cause I don't think I could stay mad at you forever."
He smiled lightly bringing his arm's up and wrapping them around her neck. "Is it to late to ask you to spent the night?"
"I promised Mel I would be back." She said tucking a small part of his hair behind his ear. Suddenly a loud rumble of thunder crash making the two look in its direct. "Sleep over at mine?"
