As we journeyed towards our destination, I immersed myself in the details of my new identity.

I was to assume the role of Anisha, and with her arrival expected today, I had to become her.

Fortunately, our shared brown hazel eyes meant I didn't need contacts.
I donned round glasses to cover my eyes, and my thick brown hair was braided tightly, with a few rebellious strands framing my face.

I wore a vibrant pink kurti, paired with a white dupatta and cream-colored pants, complete with jhumkas and jutis to finish the look. A Titan watch adorned my wrist, completing my transformation into a quintessential Indian girl.

Soon, we touched down at our destination.

While Jarek and Matteo enjoyed the luxuries of business class, I had to travel in economy due to the circumstances.

They trailed behind me at a safe distance, ensuring our connection remained discreet. We stayed in constant communication via Bluetooth.

As I exited the airport, I spotted Raunak, the representative from the event management company, who would escort me to the venue.

During the hour-long drive, he briefed me extensively on the wedding details. Finally, we arrived at the majestic Randhawa Palace, where the rituals would take place, and the wedding reception was set to be held in a nearby hall, under the auspices of the Randhawa family.

As the car pulled into the parking spot, I stepped out onto the grounds, my eyes fixed on the breathtaking palace before me.

The majestic structure, with its intricate architecture and grandiose design, took my breath away. Its beauty was truly captivating, a testament to the skill of its long-ago builders.

Despite being over a century old, the palace had been meticulously maintained, its grandeur and charm still radiating from every stone and brick.

The old Indian architect palace, with its majestic sandstone walls and intricate carvings, had been transformed into a stunning fusion of traditional and modern architecture. The weathered walls now gleamed with a fresh coat of paint, and the intricate jali work was accentuated by sleek glass panels.

The grand entrance, flanked by stone elephants, now led to a spacious courtyard with a modern water feature and minimalist landscaping. The ornate arches and balconies were still present, but now they were complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors that allowed natural light to pour in.

Inside, the palace boasted sleek marble floors, modern art installations, and contemporary furnishings that blended seamlessly with the original ornate ceilings and intricate carvings. The vibrant murals on the walls had been restored and now shared space with modern art pieces, creating a unique and captivating visual narrative.

The modern touch was evident in the sleek lighting fixtures, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, and modern kitchen facilities, but the palace still exuded the grandeur and opulence of its rich history. Every element, old and new, worked together in harmony to create a truly unique and breathtaking space that honored the past while embracing the future.

As we approached, a tall, imposing figure emerged, his stride confident and purposeful. A man in his early fifties, stood at almost six feet, his honey-brown eyes gleaming with warmth. His black hair was perfectly styled, side-parted and slicked back, complementing his chiseled features. He wore a tailored blue Armani suit, exuding an air of sophistication and elegance.

By his side, a woman walked with grace, her dark eyes sparkling with intelligence. Her raven-black hair was tied in a sleek bun, accentuating her porcelain skin. She wore a stunning purple saree, intricately designed and draped with precision, showcasing her impeccable taste.

As they drew near, the man extended a warm greeting, his deep voice resonating.

"Namaste! I hope your journey was comfortable." I nodded, and he continued,

"Nice to hear that. I am Nityam Randhawa, and this is my wife, Riddhika Randhawa."

"Namaste, beta!"the lady acknowledged me

"Namaste, mam!" I replied curtly.

"Remember, excellence is expected! We won't tolerate any complaints from our esteemed guests," Riddhika emphasized, her eyes gleaming with a sense of high standards.

"Absolutely, ma'am! We'll leave no stone unturned to make this wedding an unforgettable experience for both families," I assured her, determination etched on my face.

"That's the enthusiasm I like to see! After all, it's our beloved Adwait's special day," she said with a warm smile.

"As you wish, ma'am!" I replied, bowing my head slightly.

With that, Riddhika and Nityam withdrew, and Raunak escorted me to my designated room, the grandeur of the palace evident in every step.

As I stepped into the room, I found it to be cozy and intimate, perfectly suited for a single occupant.

The space was neither too vast nor too cramped, exuding a sense of warmth and comfort.

The furnishings were simple yet functional, consisting of a single bed, a study table, and a cupboard.
The walls, painted a soothing white, were accented with a subtle hint of red, adding a touch of elegance to the room's understated charm.

"The rituals will commence tomorrow, so it's essential you get some rest. We'll begin in the evening, and I apologize for the last-minute change. I hope you'll adjust accordingly." Raunak's voice broke the silence, reminding me of his presence in the room.

I furrowed my brow, curiosity getting the better of me. "But why the sudden change?" I asked, my eyes locked on his.

Raunak's expression turned somber. "Miss. Sharma suffered an injury during the engagement ceremony, so we've had to make some adjustments." He paused, clearing his throat before continuing.

"She fell down the stairs."

My eyes widened in surprise, and a faint gasp escaped my lips.

"Oh, I see!" I exclaimed, a small smile tugging at the corners of my mouth as I realized the unexpected turn of events. It was as if fate had intervened, paving the way for me to take on this new role.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude and wonder, thinking to myself, 'God really does favor me.'

Raunak nodded. "You should get freshened up. We have a meeting at 5 this evening." He reminded me, his tone gentle but firm.

I glanced at my wristwatch, noting the time - 11 a.m. I had ample time to refresh myself and catch a quick nap before the meeting.

"I'll send you the files, so you can familiarize yourself with the theme, planning, and other wedding details," Raunak said before departing, leaving me to settle in.

"See you then mam."

"Hmm! Sure!"

I locked the door behind him and began unpacking, placing my suitcase on the bed and grabbing a fresh change of clothes.

The bathroom beckoned, and I indulged in a long, relaxing shower, letting the warm water soothe my travel-weary body.

As I emerged, feeling revitalized, a knock on the door broke the silence.

I opened it to find a girl standing in the hallway, her eyes sparkling with a friendly smile.

"Hello mam! I am Arushi!"

"Hello! Nice to meet you Arushi."

"Nice to meet you too mam!"

"Is this the file about the wedding planning?"

"Yeah"

She handed me the file.

"So , you will be coming for the meeting at evening."

"Yeah!"

"See you then mam."

"Hmm! Sure!"

I immersed myself in the file, absorbing every detail until my eyelids grew heavy, and I succumbed to a refreshing power nap.

My alarm blared to life at 4:30 PM, jolting me awake.

I sprang out of bed, feeling revitalized, and began preparing for the meeting with the soon-to-be bride and groom.

I donned a sleek black skinny pants and a vibrant red shirt, complemented by a stylish wristwatch as an accessory.

As I opened the door, I found Arushi standing there, her hand poised to knock.

"Oh, you're ready!" she exclaimed, a hint of surprise in her voice.

"Yes, I am," I replied, smiling confidently.

"I don't like to be late."

"But you already are!" Arushi shot back with a sarcastic tone.

"Don't worry, I know how to manage the gap!"Unfazed, I retorted, my confident response was laced with a hint of humor.

I'm unsure where this surge of confidence originated from - perhaps it's ingrained in my DNA or a result of the challenges I've faced.

But one thing is certain: I have no freaking clue what I'm doing. I've never taken on a task like this before, and the thought sends my mind reeling. 'Holy shit' I mentally exclaimed,

'What have I gotten myself into?' I sighed inwardly, my mind racing with doubts and uncertainties.

"Let's go then!" I said.

"You lead the way!" I added, gesturing for her to take the lead.

"Yeah, sure!" she replied, her smile widening as she turned to walk down the hallway, her footsteps echoing softly on the floor.

I followed behind the girl, my strides longer than hers due to our height difference.

She was neither too tall nor too short, but her petite frame couldn't help but be eclipsed by my towering figure.

Her long, dark hair was tied up in a tight ponytail, the sleek strands bouncing with each step, like a rhythmic pendulum swinging back and forth.

My face was calm and cool, but my mind was busy constantly cursing Matteo and Jarek.

I don't know what I was thinking, coming here as a wedding planner, a job I had never done before.

I don't know why! Just why? But something feels off. No matter how much I try, this thought constantly lingers in my mind.

And on top of that, this perfect match - maybe I'm just being delusional - but I just can't digest the fact that we share so many similarities.

I was so lost in thought that I didn't even notice we had arrived.

I followed the others into the designated wedding planning venue, which resembled a conference hall right now.

I took a seat in one of the empty chairs, with Raunak sitting beside me and a few more people scattered around the room.

Raunak began introducing me to the team, starting with Arushi, who was in charge of dresses, followed by Aman, the decoration expert, and then the catering and other specialists.

Then, the door swung open, and a couple entered the room, the woman clinging to the man's arm.

My gaze instinctively darted to her hand, and my heart skipped a beat as I spotted the distinctive red diamond ring adorning her finger - the same ring that had haunted my thoughts since I arrived.

As they approached me, the woman scrutinized me from head to toe, her gaze lingering on every detail.

I, on the other hand, kept my eyes fixed on her, my attention riveted on the red diamond ring that seemed to gleam in the light.

I was determined to get my hands on that ring, and nothing else mattered.

Out of the corner of my eye, I sensed the man's intense gaze on me, his eyes boring into my skin like a burning sensation. It was unnerving, to say the least.

He seemed to be sizing me up, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he could see right through me. I felt a shiver run down my spine, but I refused to back down. With a deliberate smile, I decided to take the initiative and break the silence.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Soon-to-be Randhawa!" I said with a smile, my eyes locked on the woman's radiant face. Her cheeks immediately flushed a deep pink, and her smile stretched from ear to ear, revealing a hint of shyness.

"Hello, Miss..." she started, her voice trailing off.

"Av...Anisha..... Anisha Chauhan," I completed her sentence, my current name rolling off my tongue.

"Hello, Miss Anisha!" the man echoed, his deep voice sending a shiver down my spine.

This time, I truly saw him - his piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into my soul, as if trying to uncover my secrets. His short, dark hair was stylishly messy, and the glint of a piercing in his left ear added a hint of edginess to his chiseled features. He stood tall, at least 6 feet, his confident stance commanding attention.

"I'll be far more at ease if you ensure our wedding is nothing short of unforgettable," the woman said, her voice dripping with sarcasm and a hint of irritation, her eyes flashing a warning.

The subtle tension in her tone was palpable, and I sensed a underlying message directed at her fiancé, as if she was displeased with the way he was gazing at me.

"Don't worry, Miss Singhania. I assure you that this wedding will not only be the pinnacle of my career and a memorable event for you, but it will also be the talk of the town for a very long time," I said with an unprecedented level of confidence. It wasn't entirely a lie, though. After all, if I manage to retrieve the ring-correction, take back what is rightfully mine since they stole it from me-it will certainly become the talk of the town.

"Miss Anisha, you're truly adept at verbal diplomacy, and I'm confident your work will be just as impressive," the woman said, her tone sincere.

"Well, definitely, ma'am..." I replied, thinking to myself, 'If only I don't mess it up...' The couple then excused themselves, leaving the team to discuss the details of the next day's event.

After a brief discussion about the upcoming functions, we all dispersed to our respective rooms.

I was relieved to have a room to myself, unlike many others who had to share with colleagues.

Since my room was located at the far end of the corridor, I was the last to head in. Once inside, I locked the door behind me and made a beeline for the bed, exhausted from the day's events.

I let out a sigh, feeling a sense of unease creeping in.Things had been going too smoothly, too perfectly, and I knew that never lasted.

My mind began to wander, and suddenly, those two pairs of piercing blue eyes flashed before my eyes. I couldn't explain why, but they seemed eerily familiar, like a distant memory lingering just out of reach.
